Anyone else get Bigger Brother flashbacks during that Carbide/Eruption fight. Despite all the damage they were still fighting on, huge props to them but even more to the very deserving champions. Can't wait for series 10.

I love razor, but i'd i would hate to see it get wrecked by the spinners :/ Outclassed nowadays tbh.
Razer would try to pinch and puncture into Carbide's body and wheels. It would probably atleast make 1 hole too. but then Carbide of course would go for the wheels. And same thing with Thor, Carbide would take a couple of hits from Thor, but it would probably rip off the wedges that Thor has.
Yeah Razer would actually take out some shit bots that can't move at all. But if it went against, Spinners, it would get wrecked.
Eruption put up a brave fight... But Carbide was simply too strong... All credit to the Carbide Team, they deserve it. No shame for Eruption though, they've done brilliantly.

I'm not so sure. The boys are not stupid and if they fought tombstone again (after what happened to cobalt) I'm sure they would add
a interchangeable / removable armour for the top wheels.
They just need wheels both sides against flippers, and armour on top against spinners.
If Tombstone can be interchangeable and adjust their spinner height to the enemy, I'm sure Carbide could play a similar game and learn from the Cobalt loss.

Eruption go to the final with its creator who has 18 years old, i can imagine how powerful can be eruption when that guy have 24 or 25 years old

Ref Bot needs to come back. Refbot was an great house bot, and was great for helping to do countdowns and enforce the rules.
This is incredible, we love destroying things and duels, and robots there is no physical prejudice, just material prejudice. I'm from Brazil and we do not have much of it here. Really cool.
Brazil has one of the best battlebots, even cappable to defeat carbide, Minotaur/ Touro Maximus is great

No, there where some robots make with pure love that can resist spinners like Storm 2, Terrorhurtz (The armour is pure love, but no the axe), Beta (Beta vs Tombstone, the armour is pure love, the weapon no) or Stinger the killer bee (there was no love for the tires)
Also the ban on entanglement devices has been lifted.
Mabye Robo Babe could do it.

I wonder if there was ever a British Vs. U.S.A. show? I watched Bot Wars years ago. It was put in my recommendation on You tube on Monday. And I have watched everyone I could find. Dara Ó Briain is a perfect for bot wars.

Deja vu Linx why? It's so boring. They were lucky to go out in their heat melee in series 8 because if they hadn't they would have faced Carbide and you've seen how much damage pussycat did to Razer imagine what Carbide would have done.
Sorry to say that Razer won't make a return to combat, it's been officially retired by the team.
Eq_NightGlider_ I'm sorry to say but ever if Razer did come back, it would not be a match for carbine unless it got MASSIVE armor upgrades.
Razer was so good because the team thought about almost everything, weight distribution, self righting, and a slanted armor that held up to the weapons of the time, It's weapon was slow yet did direct internal damage with well placed attacks.
At the time no one else was as prepared for everything as they were, that's why they dominated for the years they did, they were prepared.
The only way Razer would beat carbide is if they managed to get behind them, if they got a good grab on the center of their bot it would be game over, they would pierce into the motors, engines, cut drive chains, damage wheel spokes, or who knows what else kind of carnage leaving Carbide damaged internally.
Razer was always shit just like all 'crusher/grabber' robots. They're useless as most of them get their crushers stuck. Axes, spinners and flippers are the best weapons.
Daniel Gardecki except RAZOR was the reigning champion, it didn't suck. its frontal bottom piece prevented its claw from getting stuck in the arena, its weight distribution allowed it to take advantage of its claw getting stuck and allowing it to raise other bots into the air.
And it's weapon is insane, it's claw is capable of using *9 F%ING TONS* of downwards pressure.
Even now days, if they get a good grab on you, your bot is dead.
They look so small in the arena but they're actually giant like 3 feet in length damn

For the first time since Series 5, I've been satisfied with the grand final's outcome. That said, it took the reboot long enough to put a smile on my face.
Is hypno disc coming back?
They toyed with the idea, but they would have needed to build a whole new robot, and they not sure they have the time or money to do that anymore. Plus with Robot Wars cancelled again, not sure if there's much point.

Who would win in a fight: Carbide or Tombstone?
Well, Tombstone has a heavier weapon, so if it comes to a head on collision, I'd say Tombstone comes out on top, but it also has no protection for its wheels. If Carbide (or Cobalt as it's known in the Battlebots community) can maneuver around the side and lop a wheel off, Then it could have the upper hand. Ultimately, it would have to come down to who's the better driver
Carbide's weapon is way faster to get up to speed, with their bespoke motor having a huge amount of torque. Assuming equal driving, this would give Carbide the edge. They'd have to risk a hit from Tombstone first though, to slow their weapon down. So they'd have to go in headfirst, right from the whistle.
Norris Vaughn Hopefully, if Battlebots is renewed for a third season, there may be a chance to actually find out, considering Carbide fought in season 2 under the name Cobalt. Personally though, my money's on Tombstone.
It would be a close fight, but in the end Tombstone would win.
We need two see the actualization of Tombstone for the season 3 of battlebots before make opinions about that

One HUGE problem, WTF house robot attacking? Thats like a boxing match where the referee punches also, and not just any referee but a Mike Tyson heavyweight in a flyweight bout, idiotic! Seriously changed the game for a few competitors with knockouts. It is funny to see them clean up the dead bots but to inflict real damage and take people out seems ludicrous imo.
You got into the CPZ you get attacked by House Robots, it's a simple concept, the House Robots are arena hazards that move.
It's been like that since 1998.

Storm 2 possibly. Razer would get ripped apart I'm afraid. Kinda doesn't matter for the latter anyway since the machine is officially retired.
Are jellies or spikes allowed to be put on robots? If they could hit the axis with a spike or feed the spinner some jellies.. :D
Storm 2 and Terrorhurtz are the only two that have a serious resistance, that two are make with love

Those Rogue Robots should not really exist in this arena, they're so OP and the fact that they are just helping the winners to win and losers to lose more.
House Robots have been in the show since 1998-2004 and 2016-present so they will always be there, plus it makes Robot Wars unique compared to Battlebots.

Why are all the flippers design so poor? A well-designed flipper could have flip the Carbide easily since it has almost no protection against bottom flipper. Is there rule to prohibit certain design?
y37chung I guess, you could easily put a foot long flipper that gets underneath to flip it before the blade hits it
No rule, but since Robot Wars was off the air for so long in the UK, it was kept alive through live events, and the arenas used by the live events weren't strong enough to contain spinners. So British combat robots tended to veer towards flipper designs.
and to think, in however many years robots will be having humans fight like this.

What I don't understand is why these robots go so easy on each other? Its the grand final, after this its over. So, why didnt carbide look to destroy its competitor? I know its not nice but they're supposed to be gladiators. Hypnodisc would have destroyed the other robot. Give the fans what they want.
Because these robots cost several thousand pounds each and the BBC pays no where near what their worth to appear on the show.
Roboteers dont want to needlessly destroy each others work because they know how much time, effort, and money goes into them - if the BBC wants robots getting completely destroyed, their going to have to pay for them.
Carbide certainly wrecked Aftershock and Eruption beyond what could be deemed as necessary.
Robot Wars used to be the gold standard what happened? The American version Battle Bots has way more impressive and more destructive bots. Carbide doesn't hold a candle to Tombstone or Minotaur, and the flipper on Eruption is pathetic compared to Bronco.
Battlebots pays $8k upfront and allows sponsorship which can easily total $20k ontop.
Robot Wars pays nothing upfront, and only gives £500 after filming has concluded - thats the difference.
haitianxu battlebots has been cancelled. Probably due to cost vs viewing figures.
Just looked through these robots and they're all shit.
Carbide would wreck Tombstone with it's defenceless wheels and shit armour at the back.
Minotaur is way too powerful for it's weight, so would be shit against Magnetar.
And Bronco might have a more powerful flipper than Eruption or Apollo, but it has defenceless wheels too which would get wrecked by spinners.
@@danielgardecki1046I spoke to Ray Billings (Tombstone Driver) and he says his blade is bigger and has larger hitting radius to it and Tombstone's turning speed is quick
Minotaur is a fast robot who can get to the back of Magnetar and do his famous combo hits
Bronco is great at driving and when everything works can avoid spinners and not to mention its anti-horizontal spinner wedge

Otter Ksix Fluffy didn't actually hit with the blades on its weapon they were just weights. And the basic design is the same. Fluffy is the pioneer!

It came back in Series 8, went out in the first round and has now officially been retired
Fix the arena so that robots can be flipped out the arena anywhere not just 4 spots, would make flippers more viable, needing to halt the fight to repair the arena isn’t really entertaining so either reinforce the arena or limit the power of spinners. Get rid of the rogue robots its just annoying, they seem to just give the loosing robot a harder time. Bring back flame throwers and Sgt bash if your worried about safety consider that piece of aftershock stuck in the bullet resistant Plexiglas. Sort out the matchups get rid of the 4 for all, 1 v1 battles give the new guys a chance.
Eruption flipped all of the people it faced in it's heat out of the arena so I think it should be alright.
BBC sucks for cancelling this.

Can i just mention how scummy Ironside 3's driving was? All he did was run away.
Well what was he supposed to do? Go straight head on and get weak hits with his weapon not being up to speed? Holding back and waiting for the weapon to get up to full speed before attacking is the best tactic a robot like that has. It has to be a lot more patient and cautious than something like Carbide, which can get up to full speed in half a second.
I don't remember it attacking Aftershock once in their head to head. Aftershock was held together with duct tape and it lost to the arena floor, it was unlucky for Aftershock and not a win to be proud of for Ironside 3. That was the main battle that bothered me.
Why does everyone hate Ironside 3? They see running around waiting for there spinner to spin as cowardly ness but what is it supposed to do?
