The small wheel at the back of the sports chair makes sure she doesn't fall over, similar to the cambered large wheels. I dated a girl in my early twenties that was in a wheelchair. Met her in a bookstore, took a little bit of getting used to at first but after a few dates I really didn't even notice anymore. She was a fun, intelligent and very sweet young lady. She had a really good sense of humor about her condition too. She first asked me out by asking if I "want to go for a walk sometime" we both had a nice laugh and that's when I knew that it really didn't matter that she couldn't walk or that the physical part of our relationship would be a little different than I was used to. We had a lot of fun and ended up breaking up on good terms when I had to move out of state for work. I would have liked for her to come with me but she was still in school and wouldn't leave her mom. But man I still think about her and how things might be today if we had stayed together. And as for the sex, she was honestly the most passionate lover that I've ever been with. There are new advances in Bluetooth implants almost every month. We are likely 10-20 years away from paralyzation being a thing of the past if it goes well.
When I was a kid I used my grandma's wheelchair to pop wheelies and climb over bricks and stuff. Wheelchairs can be real fun, but It sucks to have to be in one. Also, when I failed my wheelies and fell back, I could just get up. Learning these while paralized must be quite a bit harder.
I remember seeing a guy in a sports chair-albeit a more primitive one from the early 2000s-when riding the bus. In his case he became paraplegic due to an adventure sports accident, so a sports chair was a must since he still wanted to continue participating in atheletics. What's interesting is that he did manage to use it as his general purpose chair, but his was different. His chair had about as much as he could manage to fit through doors-in-between this one and a normal chair-the anti-wheelie bar was set higher so that he could still wheelie just a little, and he had a single caster installed in the front since the mounting spots for them were set pretty close together so he felt like he could have roughly the same stability with lower rolling resistance. He was exceptionally quick in the chair, but yeah he did have some drawbacks with how much he could carry without a backpack and the fact that some older buildings had doors set just a touch too narrow.
