Construction Update and Roller Coaster Testing at Universal Studios Epic Universe, Orlando Florida. New 2025 Theme Park!
we're all just Charlie standing outside the chocolate factory watching these rides test for the next year
This is littorally so true 🤣
I like how Epic Universe is more family oriented. Whereas the main two parks are more thrills or show experiences.
For a "family" coaster that looks pretty fun. The banking on some of those turns is nuts, and the first launch looks reasonable forceful. It'll also be a nice spectacle from off-ride since it goes through the whole land.
Nice floater looking hills too!
Hagrids is also a family coaster. I have a feeling this’ll have a layout almost as good.
"Medium" intensity coasters seem less common, but they're my favorite. I'm super excited about this land
forcefull? lmao youre kidding right?
@@supernova4760 Considering it's designed for families, uses LSMs and goes up a 45 degree incline, no, I'm not kidding. It's no hydraulic launch, but it'll feel pretty strong when riding it.
Hagrid's Part 2.... The coaster itself looks great and can't wait to get a ride and visit each portal there is to offer 😄
Well hagrids is probably still a bit better but it’s similiar for sure!
From what I’ve seen/heard this is supposed to less intense than hagrid’s. So I guess you can say it’s the prequel
The landscaping is amazing.
Those trees better be real. We need clean air to breathe in Florida. :)
It's not quite the dragon riding coaster I was hoping for but still fun. I'm hoping they might in the future add a Toothless hypercoaster based on the Test Drive scene, fill it with floater airtime for a flying feeling and have wave turns over water dodging between big cliff rocks like in the scene.
that would be awesome but I think a hyper would be too big for this park and it would be hard to theme throughout the whole attraction and fit in the httyd area.
The park is coming together great people. How amazing❤
how "epic" ;)
Gives me big bear mountain vibes which is a great family coaster
I can see the Hiccup animatronic cranking the mechanism and that's so cool. Can't wait to ride this and see the Hiccup and Toothless animatronic when this opens next year! 😊
Man this looks like a great family coaster!
0:28 Hiccup animatronic cranking some sort of mechanism to the left of riders, while I presume Toothless to be under the yellow tarp to the right
good eye, it took me a second to see hiccup there. now my question is, did they make him Canon height because i think film theory did a video a while back about whether or not toothless could actually fly. So that means there is a max height Hiccup would have to be that toothless could still get airborne.
this actually looks so good.
This is going to give a great view of the Isle. Excited for it
This looks like a lot of fun….and makes me wish that the Wolfman roller coaster had a similar that runs throughout the Dark Universe land, but one that was a little more intense and thrilling to differentiate it.
This seems like a more exciting version of the Dr. Suess land trolley ride. A good way to get some nice views and see the whole park in a timely manner.
1st second me: "Oh, it must be raining. They're all wearing ponchos"...
Water weight test dummies
@@dano8410 I know. ;)
I can only imagine it features standard sit down trains to avoid conflicting with Hagrid’s because a straddle coaster would have been much better for riding dragons
Totally agree. I play the “test drive” song in my head when I ride hagrids. It would have been good to have sorta the same setup a side car for the smaller kids and the bike seat type for the older ones.
I know before I said that 2 of those hills looked like to had ejector, now seeing it testing makes it look slower than the animation, but still good. I cant wait to see how it runs full, and warmed up in the florida heat.
It’s so cool to see the behind the scenes of a new ride being built! 😊❤
looks great!
thumbnail looked like something out of Roller Coaster Tycoon
This looks like it'll be the best family coaster ever to be fair.
0:39 It looks like they're building with popsicle sticks. :)
Oh that looks like so much fun, love the vibe I’m getting for it just being a family coaster but the next stage up, kids are gonna love this
I'm so glad that they are building this in Florida.
Looks like an outstanding ride can’t wait to hopefully ride this one day
Looks great
Sign me up to ride opening day!🎉
I love the How to Train Your Dragon movies. I'm excited for this to open. Not sure if I'll be able to go in 2025 but I'll have to check it out sometime.
It would have been fun if they were somehow able to put bigger dragon wings at the front
This may be the best themed area in the park in my opinion (with Dark Universe a close second).
1:14 is that a swing launch??? I know Wolfman will have one but I wasn’t expecting one for this!
Oh wow this looks like a fabulous family coaster
Dragon racers just looks like the shell shock ride from mall of america
i love how the second launch is supposed to look like the train "fails" this coaster will be fun
I didn’t know that wasnt accidental. Interesting
The length and theming is insane! That speed though.... ooff. Could go a smidge faster.
It’s in early testing so it could faster during opening. Universal confirmed that the top speed is supposed to be 45mph
Oh, I didn't see the 45mph part. That should be fine!
Looks fun
Kinda getting Slinky Dog vibes on this one🐶
WOW!
I was hoping it would be a little more thrilling but it will be good for kids.
It was marketed as a "family" coaster. That's actually way longer and more thrilling than what I expected for a family coaster. Compare this to the 15-second family coaster Disney has for World of Frozen in Hong Kong! I would certainly ride this as a young adult!
As an adult who does not like thrilling roller coasters, it's refreshing to see a decent balance happening at USO.
@@VerbilKintcopy that
Oh it's one of those bulky Intamin Looping Coaster trains like on Incredicoaster?!
Bruh
Yooo! Thats awesome!!!
the trains reminds me (or just straight up uses) the same train chassis that Intamin used for Incredicoaster/California Screaming
i see the hiccup animatronic at the start
Epic 😅
It looks amazing. The first launch looks better than mavericks no cap.
That second launch... is it supposed to stop and roll back then launch? Or was that just some sort of block testing
Funky little ride, should be decently fun. Great drone work!
ugh disappointed in the train but love the layout and theming so much cant wait
Looks fun. Reminds me of Manta from SeaWorld San Diego.
1:10 rollback intentional? If so thats awesome!
I believe this ride has two launches similar to the Velocoaster. I don't think it's supposed to have a swing launch.
Reminds me of Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood which is a fun coaster.
Two cool things I noticed: 0:33, you can see Hiccup moving the gears! 1:10 is that a slingshot launch??
idk if there was a valleyed train at 1:13 or a part of the ride.
I wonder if that was it valleying at 1:13 and they had to re-run it or that is somehow part of the ride
I see Hiccup!!!
slowly but surely, its coming out.
People who are excited 👇
Has it got a swing launch?
who is the manufacture for this??
Intimin
Won't be better than hagrids or cheetah hunt but this looks great
Seems like a missed theming opportunity to build a wing coaster, but still looks cool.
I already smell that this coaster will be a childhood trauma for a lot of kids 😅😅
Why?
@@deletedaccountdnd because it will be promoted as a family coaster, so people are going to bring their kids and they will be surprised by the launch and what comes after
@@iamlookingforanorignalnick2349 Maybe so. But right now it looks akin to Disney's Slinky Dog Dash in terms of twists, turns, and dips.
I hate it when places advertise something as "family friendly" but "thrilling" at the same time and then show us something crazy. For example, both Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind and Slinky Dog Dash are marketed as "family" coasters. I've ridden both. Cosmic Rewind is NOT "family friendly". It was way more thrilling and wild than I even anticipated, and unless your kid likes A. tire swings and spinny rides and B. pitch black roller coasters, they will HATE this. Slinky Dog is WAY more "family friendly". It's MUCH more gentle and smooth (and visible) so even the bravest of timid riders might enjoy it. It's maybe about on par with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, if not just a hair above.
I haven't ridden any Universal coasters, but Hagrids looks fun, and I might consider it to be a family coaster, but maybe for a family who enjoys coasters such as Expedition Everest- thrilling but no loops.
Just because a ride height requirement is on the lower end does NOT necessarily make it a "family" coaster, and having a higher height requirement should automatically make it NOT a family coaster, either. A family of pre-teens who have been riding coasters since they were tall enough for the tiniest ones, maybe.... but not kids who haven't ridden a coaster before.
@@iamlookingforanorignalnick2349 Hagrid's is a family coaster too and does really really well. This will be no different.
If u look closely u can see an animatronic at the beginning of the ride
it's got a mini swing launch?!
Kinda reminds me of slinky dog dash
Looks like Pegase express in parc Astérix
I think this coaster type was planned at Efteling, a Intamin family launch coaster. Before they delayed and changed it.
This has been part of the plans since 2018
I thought this was the one where you can control how fats you're spinning.
Is this a Mack?
Ah, it's Intamin.
Have feeling this isn’t gonna be plus size friendly coaster.
Why are they testing these coasters so early?
No reason not to if they can already be tested, good to iron out the kinks for a smoother opening
They can't just wait until opening week or something to test. These rides are going to be running hundreds of times a day at opening, best to get as many test runs as possible to iron everything out.
The manufacturer might have a set number of times the coaster has to complete the circuit without any faults before it can open. That number can be well above 1,000 times without people on board and 1,000 times with people on board. Gotta get ahead of it if they want to open on time
So this makes twenty-four launches at Universal, which is ridiculous.
I wish coasters would be more for thrill seekers instead of families, but I get it.
You gotta have some "easy" coasters for those people trying to work their way up to the more thrilling ones..... Or for those who don't want to feel like they're being launched into orbit and put through space and fighter jet training all packed into 30 seconds. Personally, I LOVE that theme parks are putting these kinds of coasters in. For me, rides like this are just my speed- just thrilling enough to be enjoyable, but not so thrilling I come out needing to have worn brown pants or to find a trash can.
I think people who like those super-thrilling high-intensity coasters are crazy and you wouldn't catch me dead riding alongside them, but all the more power to them because, hey, without them, we wouldn't have pilots for fighter jets or skydivers or astronauts willing to put themselves out there to do their jobs. So, here's to you and your fellow crazy-coaster fans! 🙂
There's a limited audience for coasters that go 70 mph with 5 inversions. This is Universal, not SixFlags.
How to train your mama
slinky dog with a different theme
It's quite a bit longer though
And?
You could say this about so many different rollercoasters lol y'all just try to find any way to bring disney into this
Except SlinkyDog is very lame and this isn't.
Imagine how cool it'd be if the coasters named after shows we grew up on were actually fun to ride, rather than 1 minute family coasters... They could've done something so worthwhile with HTTYD being the inspiration.
Idk about you but this ride looks cool, definitely a more intense family coaster
Don't forget there are two more rides and a breathtaking stage show too.
That coaster is too simple, it's not up to par with those in the other parks. That shit ain't no fucking ride
ugh disappointed in the train but love the layout and theming so much cant wait
There's actually a story to the train
;3
