    Nice. I would have added Allyl cyclohexyl propionate. Diluted either to 5% or 1%. It lasts 356 hours on The Scent strip. You can bring your pineapple in your formulas right down into the base

    Recently we bought a fresh pineapple after doing research on how to create fruit accords and I noticed when I smelled the whole pineapple why pineapple and apple accords usually share a lot of the same aroma chemicals. They smell almost exactly alike but pineapple has that slight tropical note. I never noticed it until getting into perfumery.

    • @sammacer
      @sammacer  3 роки тому +1

      That's super interesting, I haven't tried that but thanks for the heads up. It makes sense because Fructone is also called apple ketal. Did you find any other aromachemicals in common other than those mentioned in the video?

      Depending on how ripe it is, to me, a pineapple (as well as most apples) also has a sour citrus note.

    I had a crack at this this morning but I used Amyl Acetate (10%) instead of Allyl Hex. As probably expected it came out a little sharper (nail polishy) and the acetate also seemed to elevate the Cis3 significantly. I like my pineapple a little sweeter and softer so I reduced the Acetate by half and halved the Cis3 from your accord. Seemed to do the trick. I've order the Allyl Hex and will try that in the accord when it arrives.

    • @sammacer
      @sammacer  3 роки тому +1

      Nice to hear. I expect the one you made smells closer to banana / pear - Amyl Acetate usually does that!

      @Contra Punctus Well yes, I think that Pell Wall must have taken the spelling 'Arak' from the same book I was reading from. I must say that I didn't think it smelled like rum either any more than the ethanol solvent itself. But yes, very interesting to hear that the opinion is shared and there is in fact both 'Arak' and 'Arrack'

    I like the Idea of Ethyl Maltol in a pineapple 🍍 accord, BUT I think that the use of Manzanate and Diethyl Malonate are necessary for a Pineapple accord. I would change Fructone with Tropicate in a very low concentration... 😉

    I would love to see a tutorial on making a dark, spiced plum accord. I've used materials such as prunella, datilat, pyroprunat, dimethyl benzyl carbinyl butyrate yet they just don't seem to give me what I'm looking for, which is that intense fruitiness. Perhaps alpha or beta damascone would help?

    • @sammacer
      @sammacer  3 роки тому

      I've never tried to make a plum accord before so I'm just as clueless as you! I don't have any of the ingredients you mentioned, but I do think that sultanene could fit the bill, maybe with some ethyl maltol and cinnamon bark oliffac to back it up. I can see damascones working too.

    • @texasfan8892
      @texasfan8892 3 роки тому

      @@sammacer Ok thanks, Sam! I'll give that sultanene a try. Perfumer's Apprentice is the only place I've seen that has it. I've also seen some people on Basenotes mention using euganol for a little spice as well as raspberry ketones.
