*Joel: Not anymore.*
:)
Lol so true
My father was English so I grew up eating fish with vinegar and that is still the only way I enjoy it. I also put vinegar on my fries with salt, pepper and ketchup
Same here. I gotta have malt vinegar and a little tartar for dunking.
:)
It’s not vinegar in chip shops not real vinegar anyway
@@JoelHansen How do you stay in shape doing all of thre challenges that you do? By the way, I like your channel ♥️
Pepper on chips is weird man
🐟 ....
Holy Fishes!!
That was huge!
Thank you so much for taking us along Joel!
man i could tell you weren't comfortable and now knowing its bc you literally did a challenge the same day. You are a beast. When im not hungry/full i am NOT hungry but you push through. Much harder then it looks and thats what makes you top tier bravo!
Thanks for watching
I’m Irish and your tour of Dublin was hilarious but also heart warming to hear your perspective on it. Like how beautiful it actually is, we don’t always see the beauty in what’s right in front of us. ☘️
All I can say is you are such a freaking professional always always pivoting with these restaurants/challenges and the way they do things is so inspiring!
Thanks for watching I appreciate the support
Just a snack for you
Squirts of lemon then dunked in tartar sauce and ketchup. YUMMY 😋 I absolutely love the after challenge tours. Beautiful and amazing. We just had my favourite bar burn down that was a historic landmark. 120 years old. Then I hear you went to a bar built in 1190. Just wow. Loved it. Off track here, but it seems to me something was stuck in your throat throughout a lot of the challenge. Hope it didn’t take too long to resolve that issue. Thought maybe Scotty might have to jump in and return a favour. Lol.
Much respect from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦👏🏻👏🏻😉😉
:)
I have never seen Joel struggle with that small amount of food!
It was his 2nd challenge of the day
18:34 The real challenge. A bowl of cold mushy peas when you're 120% full.
This is a standard chip for fish and chips. The French fries we normally associate with like a burger maybe. Looks like a great challenge 👍🏼
Man you can get some food down!!!
Shout out to everyone from Sydney Australian 🇦🇺🤙
Thanks
I love fish & chips in the UK, but I usually go to my dad's local street vendor. He's Cypriot, they make it awesome!
Never heard of fish fried in beef fat. Actually sounds good! Thumbs up! You did an awesome job with this huge challenge! Please keep the videos coming!
Cardinal rule plaster it all with vinegar and salt chips cooked in beef dripping are divine
Proper chips should be nice and crunchy on outside and fluffy (not soggy) on the inside then smothered in loads of vinager and a sprinkle of salt. Chip shop curry sauce optional side .
I don't know if it's just Washington State, but the standard fish and chips fish here is Cod as well. I'm not a big seafood fan but I do really enjoy fish and chips. Also, I enjoy lemon juice and some nice garlic dill tartar sauce. 😁
I'm in Ohio and ours is cod and perch.
There's an Irish pub here in Minot, ND (Ebeneezer's) that does a Fish & Chips that looks just like that and they do in fact use Cod Fillet. It's one of their best dishes; they also offer a pretty traditional Bangers & Mash and a Shepard's Pie all fresh made.
Ok thanks
I would love to go. Sound 😋
Just looked at the pics online at that place. Looks nothing like fish and chips, served with skinny fries for a start. Who serves fish and chips with garlic bread ? Their shepherd's pie is made from irish stew, which is beef. Shepherd's pie is in the name, needs to be lamb with creamy mash not garlic mash.
It looks delicious, I love malted vinegar with fish. Shrimp sauce and tartar sauce mixed is a good dipping sauce for fish as well. I enjoy watching your challenges Joel. You are my favorite. 🤩
I sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning on top of my fried fish. Very tasty. I live in Atlanta and every type of fish and seafood is available here since Georgia is on the coast.
Well done! Vinegar definitely helps to cut the fat when eating British fish and chips and changes the flavour profile. Also very good on mushy peas 😁
Thanks for watching
The amount of times FISH & CHIPS was mentioned lol but in the end amazing video as always. You eat through every Food Challenges with a breeze.
It looked quite difficult, so I know I wouldn't be able to finish it... but I sure would like to give it a go. That looks pretty tasty
:)
Love mixing tarter and ketchup. Also like malt vinegar. I do want good chips, though. The fish looked great.
You stated that the standard fish served in the Uk is cod but a standard in Scotland is often haddock
The mushy peas are marrow fat peas that have been blended in a machine until the correct consistency
I enjoy vinegar on all the items but with tartare sauce on the fish and tomato ketchup for the chips
I'm dying laughing, whilst you describe our fish, chips and mushy peas. Mind blown that you don't get cod when it's just normal here.
Make sure you have a Guinness whilst in Belfast. It's the only place you should drink it.
Job well done 👏
The mushy peas had me cracking up, more like a legume. 🤣🤣🤣
Nah… Guinness is a southern thing … only place it should be drank is in the republic
Cod is normal fish and chips in the USA as well. Maybe Canada bans the use of cod. Who knows?
This was an absolute epic challenge!! Joel pushed himself to his limits. Enjoy:)
Scott why aren't you doing this challenge with Joel? Already completed??
SEXY SCOTT!!!!
@@richrickyeats1661 we did separate challenges on the day
Oh that's awesome!!! Thanks for replying back to my comments!!! You guys are great! Hope to join you all one day. Lmk when yall make it in memphis again!!!
They haven't given you a check mark yet scott??
This is the first time I've seen Joel struggle alittle bit but he never fails
Looks so delicious! I am on a very strict plant based program, so I live vicariously through your wonderful meals. Fish I Chips are among my favorite when I could eat them! Stay healthy & enjoy every morsel! ❤❤❤
try deep fried banana blossom recipes
loving the exploration and tasting local cuisine. cant wait to see more of europe- Germany will have some good challenges with alot of meat
Wow, That looked fried to perfection! Bet that was delicious.
Well coming from England that’s definitely one of our favs, fish, chips, mushy peas & curry sauce, most households Friday night treat .. anyways great video as always ❤
"Ohh the flavor of that fish!!!" Dumps it in Ketchup😅
30 seconds into the vid you know this is going to be a cakewalk for Joel. Tooo easy!!!!
To me is a mystery how a human body can digest huge amounts of food. Good show Joel!
That looked so good! I love fish and chips but I could never eat more than one of those big boys! Joel, you are awesome!
This brought back so many memories of my time in Ireland. Great challenge.
Thanks
Joel….have you ever tried eating at a buffet on a cruise?? Lots of options…challenges..and pure eating pleasure. Would love to see you try.
I am watching this video for the second time, and enjoying it twice as much as the first time! It's just amazing how quickly you wolfed down all those pieces of fish as well as the chips and peas!
That looks and sounds so delicious. I like lemon, viniger and tarter sause with my fish.
Watching Joel’s channel for a while this looks like a starter 😂
Love Joel’s videos. One thing I’ve always thought about all the people doing food challenge’s is they must drop absolutely huge logs. Lol
Thanks lol
Home made chips not processed crap Joel. Lol. Fish looked amazing! Well done.
Fond memories of walking around as a kid, eating those chips from a paper packet, soft and thick chunks of potato drenched in malt vinegar, yum!
I’m all about this challenge. I’m a Florida native and fish is a steady staple for me. Congrats on a another take down challenge.
:)
That fish looked amazing!!! Gotta say the mashed potato chips and mashed peas ....they can keep. And I love peas. But hard pass!! Great job, Joel!👍👍👏👏👏
If you love peas, mushy peas are another level, don't knock it until you've tried it. As for the chips, that's what proper chips are like, not french fries.
Joel, if you want cod fish and chips in Canada you need to go to Newfoundland. It's all fresh cod there and it's DELICIOUS.
ok
@@JoelHansen k
I am 48 days into a 72 day water fast.
I don't usually watch you. I'm trying to get through Randy and Katina's videos first, but oh man, that fish. I just had to give in and watch early.
Awesome.
I'll be back to watch all of your vids when I'm done with theres.
Unless I see you with another fish video or a country gravy video.😊
Thanks for showing the sites! That was a very cool addition to your epic win
If you've ever seen Joel eat Fish n chips you would know he SLAYS IT!!
This meal looks heavenly! Cod is my favorite fish! Oh gosh I’m so jealous right now. Those are huge fillets. I prefer tartar sauce.
So good!
Sweeeeet.
A fish dinner for which Joel knows he won't get kicked out. Awesome challenge.
Thanks for watching
This was the comment I was looking for! 😂 💯✊🏾💫
In South Africa we call those chips "Slap Chips" which if directly translated to English would probably read as "Floppy Chips"
The food and then vlog is a great thing to be apart of! Thankyou Joel (and Scott if he is there). I'm British and you are teaching me a lot! Great content mate. Thankyou brotthers
:)
thanks
This takes me back to one of your early vids - where an unlimited fish 'n' chips shop cut you off... no problems here, though!
Can tell he was struggling trying to down those soft chips ❤ how the fish looked 🤤
Thanks for watching
Man's absolutely smashing content out for us like a beast
Thanks for watching
Hell yea! I love new vids especially when they’re put out so quick 😁
Darn that fish looked cooked to perfection ! 🐟🐟
Proper Chips have never seen mashed potato , it's just the texture from the whole potato chips that is unusual in comparison to Fries , that challenge looks awesome ans very well cooked in beef dripping
Haddock or Cod, malt vinegar, salt, mushy pease, chip shop curry sauce...scraps..bread and butter for a butty if your hungry. I'm so hungry now! Well Done. What a machine 💪
Joel that dish look damn good . !!! Now I want fish and chips 😅
Not a big fish and chips kind of guy but those fish actually looked really good. Great video like always Joel.
Looks delicious, mushy peas are actual peas. Peas out of a pod. We have similar chips in NZ, those did look like they just needed longer in the fryer imo. But that fish, insane size and looked yummy as. 💗
There a light colour because the oils clean
@@Craigox001 it's fat they cook them in. He says at the beginning. 😁
Here on the West Coast of BC Canada you always get your choice of cod, halibut, haddock, pollock, and some places salmon.
Proper English fish and chips is the best! Proper chips made from fresh spuds! Lovely jubbly😀
OMG!! Looks SO DELICIOUS 🤤
Ox
@@JoelHansen 😀😀
Fish looked amazing... the chips (fries) not so much, but probably easier to get down than the crispy ones we get here in Canada lol. Awesome job Joel
:)
Im English ive eaten those gross chips before, yeah easier to get down for sure but not easier to eat a lot because they are VERY filling, they are literally soggy with grease so to eat a lot is difficult !
True, what's easier? Fluffy chips or the break your teeth crunch??
The only good thing about eating fish and chips is trying to fish out and you're eating them way too fast to enjoy them I know it's fun to get free food but you don't get to enjoy the food you're packed full of food
Looks delicious 😋
I can see why that challenge was undefeated, Very hard Congrats joel 👏
I love fish. Look like it had a nice thin coating of breading. Mushy peas what's so different from regular peas but mushy. Great video like always.
Yum! The fish looks delicious 😋
Thanks for watching
Hey Joel, mushy peas are marrowfat peas - very different from regular or sugar snap peas. Also, the chips do go soggy when they cool down. French fries aren't often made from potatoes!
Aren’t made of potatoes? WTF
I really like the overlay of narrative. I am much more likely to stick around for the whole video. Love the “lot of words” appreciate!
Has Joel ever NOT finished a challenge?! You are Amazing!
That was really just a snack for Joel.. I remember him eating 50 pieces of fish & chips in the all you can eat fish & chips restaurant
I've had cod or halibut everywhere I've gone living on the west coast of the US. Surprised you've never had cod here, it seems very common in my home town.
Amazing! Thank you for all that you do, we appreciate it! More power and cheers to good health! Thanks for always squeezing in a cool vlog towards the end.
He looks smaller everytime he eats whereas on the other hand with the other food eater, Randy Santel who looks like he should not touch another drop of food🤣. Amazing! Go Joel
"I don´t know what stone this is, but it´s another interesting stone."
Classic line mate :)
What a great looking feast! Congrats again! But, I'm not understanding your Cod fish comments in North America? Canada has quite a healthy Cod population, and is generally the fish of choice for any fish and chips meal! Rarely do we eat any other fish when we are out for fish and chips! Cod is a great tasting and hearty fish! It's great to see it is enjoyed as much overseas as it is here in Canada! Tartar all the way! :)
I saw this and was like, this is a piece of cake for him. Then you started to show the struggle and I was like, oh I guess I was wrong. Looked delicious. I like both with my fish. I'll even go for hot sauce.
My mom was Canadian (Newfoundland) of Irish descent…we always had vinegar handy.
Amazing! Congrats on the win! Loved seeing parts of Dublin 🥰 Thank you for including this in your travels 😊
Thanks so much
Thanks for the tour idk why I love the fish and chips Challenges you do
COD fish and chips is amazing. So filling. Great job again Joel👍
Thanks 👍
I cannot believe he didn't dip the fish into the mushy peas!! Favorite way to eat it !
I'm jealous of this challenge. Chips crisper would be good.
Good job!
I love eating my fish with vinegar and tartar sauce. I usually break up my fish and pour the malted vinegar into the fish and then slather the tartar sauce over top. Yummy
🏴👏 amazing effort JH thanks again for visiting our beautiful country 👏🏴
OMW! Joel, please bring me a few pieces of that fish! That is seriously the best looking fish I've ever seen! ❤
As a Canadian with Irish roots (both my grandparents were born in Cork County) , I can't think of a better Canadian representatives than Jole!!! to show our forefathers how Canadians can eat!!! :)
I like vinegar and tarter sauce the most but sometimes switch it up with mustard and hot sauce.
Malt Vinegar all the way bro, with tartare sauce!!!! And ketchup. ( I prefer salt, vinegar and ketchup.) well done brother, you killed it.
Only spent a couple of days in Dublin but loved it. People there were super friendly.
Wow first time I’ve ever seen you looking like it’s a struggle for you to finish ! And chip shop chippy chips are the best 😂
Cod is also common in most parts of Australia at fish n chips shops. We also have the "mashed potato sticks" style chips - though some places will have crispy fries.
Here in Michigan most fish fries consist of Perch, walleye, pollock, cod, and blue hill.
Love chippy chips ..but if you want them more crispy .., look up triple cooked chips ( won't get in a chippy..but will in a restaurant or do at home) ..lovely crispy outside..soft and pillowy inside x
I don’t see how you do so many of these you are a certified mad man
Fish always looks so easy to eat quick! I was stuffed just eating one fish and some chips lol 😂 these chips are actually my favourite style from our chippies! Especially with beans, cheese, curry or gravy etc!
I enjoy either vinegar or lemon juice with Tatar sauce. Not all tartar sauce is created equal. I’ll only use a good tartar s sauce. Especially good with dill in it.
