Great video! BNL rules and that was so nice of them to let Al play with them! Too bad you didn't get such a good view of him, but that must have been awesome to hear him play the accordion! Thanks so much for posting.
Thanks for posting this. I love this song, and seeing them live on video is better than not seeing them live at all. (though it'd would be cool to really see them live sometime).
I saw BNL live in Denver. What a great show! I'm so sorry we can't see Al in your vid. He's a sweetie. As always, the guys put on a great show. Congrats on your cool experience!
I was surprised to hear the faint applause for Weird Al. What???????.......surely he's more famous than Tiny Tim. Oh well (I appreciate his talent and humor) These boys are as good live as they are on Memorex. I can only hope they pay homage to their own unique success and do one more concert tour together before......well, before they end up like most rock/Indie groups after 25 years when........someone quits the band.
I'm not too sure about that. The stage was a lot smaller than anything Al was used to when he toured, so he probably felt that it would be best to stay in the back and out of the way. He seemed very into the performance, and did a very good job for them on the accordion. There's another recording of this, and you can see Al pretty well. You could tell he was enjoying it.
Steve looks weird being so thin! And that is the ugliest plaid shirt ever, but he pulls it off. Go figure. Thank you so much for uploading this! It's awesome.
@wardust02 he is. the guy taping was on the wrong side of the stage and so unfortunately Al was blocked by the side of the stage. But you can kind of make out his face at 5:35
Oh yeah. It's a real shame too. If he ends up with some solo work, I'll check, it out, but I really wish he didn't quit BNL. But if he felt they were going to fast for him, that is his decision, and he could most definitely find other work.
Marijauna wouldn't. Which is why I said /explicitly/ I bet it was the coke, and I never said he was an addict either. It's hard to put words in someones mouth when the original words are right there above yours. And where it happened is irrelevant, he was still breaking a law, no matter which country it was. Hence "UNLAWFUL possession".
your a genius. marijuana possession does mean he would lose weight. He got booked with coke once. DOES NOT MAKE HIM AN ADDICT. If he wasn't in one of the most oppressed nations at the time he never would have been caught. The search would never have happened in his native Canada. Guess thats because we believe in personal freedom
if the drugs made him do this song, then drugs are cool, end of dicussion. awesome song, gonna play it in a competition! who knows maybe i'll try some drugs to sing it like that!!!! :P
It's a shame you can't see Al, but the accordion sounds wonderful! Thanks for posting this. :)
You know the concert totally rocks if little kids are dancing in front of the stage. ❤️
I just love the kids charlie-brown dancing near the stage :)
Wow they even sound great in a setting like this! And their harmonies are fantastic!
My mother used to play this in the car on long trips until the cassette wore out.. it has grown on me as well. I love this! ^^
7:11 - That ending with the Blue's Clues Mailtime song was epic! Loved it!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this, I love seeing Al performing with other bands.
Great song!
I was there for this!

This was amazing loved the solo by weird al 😂😂😂

This was a month away from Steve being in the news. Sad to see the impending implosion that was to take place.
Steve was hung out to dry. I mean, who needs enemies when you''ve got bandmates lie that lot.
What's the story? Forgive my ignorance
This is fantastic... just awesome. Thanks for posting.

Steven did quit in 2009
This is fantastic... just awesome.
i love that ending!!!

YAY what an awesome mix!
Aw man! What a phenomenal and fun time that must have been! I wish I had been there!
The signed mac n cheese box is a great touch!
Steve looks weird being so thin! And that is the ugliest plaid shirt ever, but he pulls it off. Go figure. Thank you so much for uploading this! It's awesome.
Love it!
Absolutely bonkers but brilliant!
ha ha, I see my wife and kid. Thanks for posting!

Came for Weird Al, stayed for little kids dancing.
Wow, they did Blues Clues at the end lol
The little kids are ADORABLE
Great dialogue between them ah they were the good ol'days....
Awesome!
You need to get a canadian friend to send you a box of Kraft dinner to get signed :)
absolutely bonkers but brilliant!!
So nice
he looks great! :]
Steve was not long for the band by this point. His drug bust was a month away and it was a rapid descension after that.
Weird Al was there. They had an accordion. Do the math. :D
almost like thay had that all planed
The Mail song from Blues Clues
aha lmfao. love this song espescially the part about the kd, and the fancy ketchups:P .
Those kids are the real stars of this video.

At a sweet 16 birthday party at my church's Culture Center, I sang this on karaoke, and I sang both parts myself.
yeah i was thinking the same thing... i didn't know that was him until he started singing lol
Something else Weird Al has in common with BNL: He was a straight A student nerd, and all or most of BNL were in the academic stream for gifted kids.
I'm not sure...... but it seems the Barenaked Ladies took a nasty spiral to the state fair gigs.
eds up!
Would it have killed you to actually include Weird Al in your video?
He's behind the f'ing speaker and the person taking the video is stuck in the crowd. Get over yourself.
Kevin Brown you can see Weird Al in this one :) ua-cam.com/video/vLpyy2BgSCE/v-deo.html
ierymr you are right. I over reacted.
©kdc&cc thanks for the link. That was much better!
What's the final little verse that he sings at the end?
@TheIllustriouBlueJay - Seriously, he used it as a theme? That actually makes me lol XD

any one no what the second song is that thay started to sing?
Weird Al is the best accordion player1
Not in Auckland you wont maybe a small unit
Lol, million lobsters.
You can see him at 5:33.
Too bad we can't see AL
lol they added that mail song from blues clues at the end
Why would you even bother posting this when you cannot even see Al. Clickbait crap.
1000000 lobsters???
11 people hate lobsters

so strange seeing those children dance right in front, looks weird.
Because LA is known for it's lustrous state fairs...
Given that this was around the exact same time he got busted for cocaine and marijuana possession, I'd bet it was the coke.
this is the skiniest ive ever seen page an i brought a kd box to when they played mcmurray
You can kind of tell Page was on his last leg.
Are you watching the reunion performance on the Junos tonight?
steve looks really thin.
lonelygnome1 - it was from snorting all that cocaine.
@lonelygnome1
Cocaine is a helluva drug...
if the drugs made him do this song, then drugs are cool, end of dicussion. awesome song, gonna play it in a competition!
who knows maybe i'll try some drugs to sing it like that!!!! :P
