49 yr old Canadian here. This song came out when I was 15. I saw the BNL at a small venue when I was 16. Everyone was throwing boxes of Kraft Dinner at the band. They stopped playing and threatened to leave so we threw our socks and they kept playing. Fast forward 25 yrs and I see them at a large venue in my hometown and the band while on stage tells the story of how we threw our socks at them all those years ago. It was a full circle moment. This band has seen me through the highs and lows of life.
I booked these guys in 1991 to play at the pub I managed- for $370, production costs and motel rooms. Packed the place to the rafters and everyone had a BLAST- The Ladies joked around, rapped, danced and killed it. Still the best live show I've ever seen; and still have the 5-track cassette tape they sold afterwards.
Is it plain white and just says Barenaked ladies? I got a cassette after a show in Alberta and it was a white tape with a homemade paper sticker label.
@@sl0ptart My particular cassette has a yellow paper liner and has "barenaked ladies" in black ink with a sandwich, and there is an olive impaled on the stem of a daisy stuck into the sandwich. The tape itself has white labels, and was 5 songs, the same both sides. Welcome to antiquity.
Art like Picasso, and “Art” like “Art Garfunkel” the musician. You may know Barenaked Ladies better for having done the theme song for The Big Bang Theory tv show, if you’ve watched that before.
Indeed good call......"Our whole universe was in a hot dense state. Nearly 14 million years ago expansion started wait!...." ;o) Who could forget those lyrics? Love em! And along with Big Bang Theory, BNL has just about done it all. I've liked these guys a lot since the mid-80's. Also, Thanks for this reaction Asia and BJ!
Thank you for being the first reactors to do our Canadian BNL!! I really appreciate you continuing down this Canadian path. They have a lot of really fun songs. One Week will have you scratching your head - but LYAO. You might want to pull up the lyrics for it. Thanks again from Ontario, Canada! Love you guys! ETA - I would renovate my house, get a new car, and help out my friends and family :)
*I know* a song i'd like to hear (well pretty much anybody's) reaction to..... ^^ (C'mon if you're Canadian you should get this aren't the Ladies like, a religion there or something? i dunno', maybe there's just one small group of Canadians from Toronto that kidnap nerds from Street Fighter tournaments and force them to appreciate Folk Music? Not that i dwell on or regret that) i blame YOU KNRQ!! Also McDonald's Girl and Moxy Fruvous! i hope my captors have fared well. xD
Fun fact: Back in the 80's, early 90's, Toronto used to have a video booth downtown called Speaker's Corner. For a dollar (or a loonie), you could film yourself and your friends doing whatever you wanted for 1 minute. Each week a local Toronto TV station would air "Speaker's Corner" featuring some of the most interesting, informative, entertaining clips made by the public. The Barenaked Ladies got noticed for performing one of their songs "Yoko Ono" which basically launched their career. Long before the internet and UA-cam these guys did it with a dollar and a few seconds of air time.
I’ve seen them live, 6 times and they always sing some fun songs, reminiscent of childhood! For example, twice- same Summer/same tour- they sang the theme song to “Sesame Street!”
Play this song in a crowd of 45-55 year old Canadians at a gathering or pub and you are very likely to end up with a sing-a-long. While BNL's later stuff had more international success, their first album (Gordon) tends to have a special place in the hearts of many Canadian Gen Xers (and some older Millennials).
In case you were confused, "Kraft Dinner" is the Canadian name for Kraft Mac n Cheese. So they wouldn't have to eat mac 'n' cheese, but they still would!
This song was a one of a kind when it came out. I was living in Toronto at the time and caught them in concert a couple of times. They were fantastic. One Week is a great song by them. They did a lot of good stuff. This was like being in a time capsule lol thanks for the memories!
Lifelong fan of BNL. My wife and I have grown old with this band. We’ve seen them 18 times and this summer will be 19 and 20. It’s what we do. And every time we go we leave happy.
Another great Canadian group is called the Crash Test Dummies. They're song about Superman... It was a deep and reflective song that haunts me to this day. I'm one proud Canadian of our talented entertainers.
One time on a cruise which was also a music festival (with Barenaked Ladies headlining), my friend and I totally by accident crashed Jim Creegan's birthday party (he's the bass player for Barenaked Ladies). Instead of making us leave, Jim actually brought each of us a slice of his birthday cake. I have met each member of this band at least briefly and they are all super nice people.
Two Barenaked Ladies songs that were super popular are "Pinch Me" and "One Week". This song is different from their usual alternative/rock sound. You will likely recognize them if you heard them. Great reactions, thanks to both of you! -Joni
There are a number of songs that don't get much air play that are flat out great songs. "The Old Apartment" and "Brian Wilson" are great songs. "Tonight Is The Night I Fell Asleep At The Wheel" is different. "Maybe Katie" is good. I'll end up listing most all their songs if I don't stop now ;)
Finally a BNL! "One Week" is their big hit but this song is just iconic especially in Canada. Ed and Steve (the two guys singing) wrote this song as teenager's working as counselor's at a music camp. Other songs I would recommend especially from the early days are "What a Good Boy" and "The old Apartment"
Of all of the great Canadian bands, Rush, The Guess Who, Triumph, etc., these guys are my personal favourite. Pop music yes, but catchy and fun. I think that Enid is my favourite but it's hard to choose. Watch their videos or their live concert stuff too, they always look like they're genuinely having a blast.
Great reaction. Impossible not to smile when you hear this - that is the point I think. My favourite BNL songs are Brian Wilson and Lovers in a Dangerous Time (Bruce Cockburn cover).
"Picasso or a Garfunkel" (This is a play on words. 'Art Garfunkel' the musician is who they are referencing. There is a video of BNL here on YT where he breaks that down a bit to explain it) Thanks for the video though. 🙌
Ohhhh you’ve got to listen to these two Barenaked Ladies songs: Brian Wilson (live) and What a Good Boy (live). You’ll get a good taste of his amazing vocal skills….soooooo good☺️
Late summer of 1987, Vancouver BC @ The Railway Club. Studios got word of this new band out of Ontario and we were asked to check them out. Were they ready for the AAA circuit. Thought they were a little bit weird but that was the trend in those years. Others were groups like Crash Test Dummies. The rest is history
I've seen them three or four times in concert. Fantastic shows all of them. "Jane," "Brian Wilson," and "The Old Apartment" are all amazing songs. BNL is a band with range. They can do comedy songs like this...existential songs like Brian WIlson...and everything in between.
BNL was/is a great, fun band. They also wrote and recorded some incredible songs. My favorite is “Jane” and also “Brian Wilson”. Go for it! Love you two. Keep up the good work! 😎🎶❤
I love this band! Seen them live so many times, and I'm pretty sure they perform this song in every single one of their shows! They put on a great live show.
This was one of their first big hits, but they’ve got so much good stuff. And Asia was exactly right about Garfunkel. Art Garfunkel was the other half of Simon and Garfunkel.
Great band , very unique try their songs- pinch me, it’s all been done, one week, the old apartment.. they actually sang the big bang theory theme as well!
Believe it or not they have a real deep discography. Everyone wrote them off as that band with the goofy songs but they have so much more than this and one week. They do have a great sense of humor which really comes out in their concerts. But also great, heartfelt songs too. I'll let everyone else direct you to their popular songs but I'm gonna ask you react to one of their deepest songs: War on Drugs. An amazing song.
My brothers band opened for the BNL way back when. They changed their name to" Free Beer" for the night so outside on the marquee the sign read; "Free Beer with Barenaked Ladies" They do the best cover of "Lovers In A Dangerous Time" by Bruce Cockburn
BNL was one of my favorite bands growing up in the U.P. of Michigan. We'd get to hear some of these Canadian bands before they'd make it here in the US.
As Canadian as it gets 🇨🇦💙 My friend and i won a talent show with this song in grade 2, but im convinced its because the teachers did it too, complete with costumes and props 😅
The very first officiated hockey game I played in was with the Barenaked Ladies and whole bunch of Canadian musicians. After reading Dave Binidi’s book I emailed him and asked if an American brand new adult hockey player could come to the Exclaim Cup. Amazing memories.
Loved this reaction and the song brings back some awesome memories. Regarding the lyric, "I'd buy you some art, a Picasso or a Garfunkel..." Simon and (Art) Garfunkel.
You should react to more of this band they are great. I have seen them several times. I think you would like "Brian Wilson" or "It's all Been Done", or "Call and Answer". If you get a chance to see them live they are great entertainers and a real fun show. Love the reaction because you get the very spirit of the song.
Thank you for doing the BareNaked Ladies!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 I was having fun watching you having fun. Pinch Me, One Week The old Apartment are few other songs to check out. Cheers
Band members, in case no one's done this yet: Ed Robertson - lead guitar, 'straight man' lines in this song, current lead singer Steven Page - 'funny man' lines in this song, former lead singer Jim Creeggan - bass (mostly *upright* bass at that; he didn't pick up electric bass until fairly recently) Tyler Stewart - drums Jim's brother Andy - keyboards until 1996 Kevin Hearn - keyboards from 1997 onward (he also occasionally does guitar, accordion, maybe some other stuff) Steven left the band in 2009, combination of not having fun with it anymore and needing to get his life in one sock. He's got a solo career now, as I understand it. Ed, Jim, Tyler and Kevin are still putting out albums as BNL (dropped one last summer, in fact). I'm less familiar with the post-Page era, but everything I've heard is still wonderful.
I'm a fan of BNL... I love their music. Their concerts were amazing and fans turn out. The crowd sings along with every song but they adlib a bunch and have a ton of crowd interaction. I saw them on their Maroon tour and it was one of my favorite concerts ever to go to.
They have a lot of fun with their music, but my favorite by them is "Old Apartment". Really makes me reminisce about my younger days in a dumpy apartment.
My sister brought the album this is on home when I was six. The rest is history. Silly BNL: "One Week" (which you may have heard before), "Bank Job" Heartfelt BNL: "When I Fall," "What a Good Boy," "Light Up My Room," "Break Your Heart," "Crawl" Deadly Serious BNL: "The Flag" (note: this one's about domestic violence), "Helicopters," "War on Drugs," "Fun and Games" Just Plain Good BNL: "Brian Wilson," "Box Set," basically all of Maybe You Should Drive, "The Old Apartment" (I didn't understand until I *had* an old apartment but I get it now), "Too Little Too Late," "Angry People" This list barely scratches the surface. They can do it all.
They were a group from Toronto area, back in the 80's. They had an easy low key style, where you could hum or sing to their stuff. I remember when the mayor of Toronto chastised the group for their group name, all it did was give the group more PR and BNL rode the pop scene for 3 yrs or so, then the group fell apart
I think the best word to describe the meaning of this song is 'endearing'. The singer admits he wants to buy her love, so he lists all these kind of nonsensical things. Nothing gaudy, like diamonds, yachts etc. Just altogether sweet and well, endearing.
love seeing you react to this 😍 i’ve been listening to them since 91 when this album came out and it’s still one of the few albums i listen to with no skips. so glad i grew up in a city in NY that’s practically Canada (it’s so close it gets canadian radio stations) or i may have not found them so early 🤗
BNL, some good Canadian boys. Their biggest hit in the states was “One Week” hit #1 in ‘98. And Garkunkel was a play on words referring to “Art” Garfunkel from Simon and Garfunkel
Tying to your comment Asia, "Can't Buy Me Love" by The Beatles. Average house is probably close to $200K, a car is $40K each, so another $200 there. A million dollars will go much quicker than you think.
This is probably my favorite song ever. How can you not listen to it and feel happy? It’s just a happy and fun song. Thank you for doing this. It was amazing. By the way, when he says he would buy your love, I’m not exactly sure what they mean but I interpreted meaning that he doesn’t care about money, he would give it all to you and just get you things that would make you happy. At least that’s the way I see it. I don’t think he literally means he’s going to buy love.
Playing something peaceful or humorous is how I like to start my day off rather than listening to the news which is almost always depressing. When I first wake up, I am always depressed until I have my first two cups of coffee and get good vibes from something. Even taking my cats out for their morning "hunt" helps. This song always does it for me. This is more fantastic live. One of the best karaoke songs ever!
Love these guys in the day! Saw them live, they are very talented and funny! Love their addition of humor in their music! Very Canadian! Lol Thanks guys, this reaction was hilarious, you to are so fun!! Appreciate you!💕
That was such a great reaction, so much fun to let the imagination run wild. Asia being responsible investing and buying a house and BJ like we gonna have palm trees with a tree fort and llama's and a outdoor fridge, and all our food gonna come from Whole Foods! hahahah! Love it! You guys are easily gonna get way more than a million dollars, you are both born to be entertainers with all that charisma. Thanks guys, peace!
I think the joke about art was missed. He said, "if I had a million dollars, I would buy you some art. == a Picasso or a Garfunkel" (as in "Art" Garfunkel). 🤣🤣🤣
I always took the "I'd buy your love" as I'd spend it all on you. Like all the things aren't really important, it's who you share it with and the happiness that being carefree with the people who matter brings that they really want.

That's epic!!!!
Thats a great story
Art like Picasso, and “Art” like “Art Garfunkel” the musician. You may know Barenaked Ladies better for having done the theme song for The Big Bang Theory tv show, if you’ve watched that before.
Or possibly Paul Garfunkel the 20th Century, Brazilian, Impressionist & Modern artist. That is the play on words.
Indeed good call......"Our whole universe was in a hot dense state. Nearly 14 million years ago expansion started wait!...." ;o) Who could forget those lyrics? Love em! She called it... 👀 "Like Simon & Garfunkel?"...
The only sad thing is that some people don't notice how clever the BNL lyrics are.
Some people just donʼt understand sometimes you have to listen more than once.
This band/song is Canada personified 🇨🇦
I hadn't picked up on that fact until I heard the verse about the "K car" I only ever hear Canadians use that nomenclature.
Thank you for being the first reactors to do our Canadian BNL!! I really appreciate you continuing down this Canadian path. They have a lot of really fun songs. I don't think that they're the first content creators to have reacted to BNL, but it's definitely a case of, "The more the merrier". ✌️🇨🇦🫶

I went on that once my rant never made it to air though.
They still had that at least in 2000, my wife and I went there for our honeymoon! Great city.
That’s where I saw them first !!! Lol … on City Tv . Loved them immediately !!!
@@muleb384 ya im from toronto and remember speakers corner on T.V until around 2001/2002
Before they had a million dollars
"Re-live our childhoods."
Nailed it.
BNL are all about embodying childlike wonder and enthusiasm.
Especially if those hydro fields ran threw your backyard
"The Old Apartment" is one of my favorite Barenaked Ladies songs.
Mine, too! It helped me through my divorce! Love some BNL!
In case you were confused, "Kraft Dinner" is the Canadian name for Kraft Mac n Cheese. So they wouldn't have to eat mac 'n' cheese, but they still would!
After all this time I finally get it. Thank you
They are a fun band, one of my favourites of theirs is "Lovers in a dangerous time", which is a cover of a Bruce Cockburn song, also another Canadian.
Such a great cover
I wonder about Bruce Cockburn sometimes. I was the camp counselor for his nephew back in 1988. Memories.
This song was a one of a kind when it came out. I was living in Toronto at the time and caught them in concert a couple of times. They were fantastic. One Week is a great song by them. They did a lot of good stuff. This was like being in a time capsule lol thanks for the memories!
I saw them Dec 31, 1999 in Buffalo, NY. They put on a fabulous show!
I’ve seen them 6 times, live, and it is ALWAYS an incredible fun show!
Lifelong fan of BNL. My wife and I have grown old with this band. We’ve seen them 18 times and this summer will be 19 and 20. It’s what we do. And every time we go we leave happy.

Yes, Art Garfunkel paints, and so does Joni Mitchell - in fact she's a painter first.
6:59 Asia got it, it's Art Garfunkel that they want to buy lol.
One of my favorite bands. They are so entertaining live!
You guys so got the point of this song! If you don't end up wondering what silly things you'd buy or do, for you and your loved ones, you missed it.

Scarborough Music Camp was amazing, and BNL used to come back and do live shows at the camp it was really amazing.
Alcohol is a bop.
A great Canadian band. Love it!

Thank you for playing Canadian music! ❤️
Ohhhh you’ve got to listen to these two Barenaked Ladies songs: Brian Wilson (live) and What a Good Boy (live). You’ll get a good taste of his amazing vocal skills….soooooo good☺️

BNL was/is a great, fun band. They also wrote and recorded some incredible songs. My favorite is “Jane” and also “Brian Wilson”. Go for it! Love you two. Keep up the good work! 😎🎶❤
My brother used to sing this all the time. I used to hate it because it would get stuck in my head but I love it now haha
This is such a fun song LOL! Always loved it, Thanks Guys!
I love this band! Seen them live so many times, and I'm pretty sure they perform this song in every single one of their shows! They put on a great live show.
I met BNL at a pizza shop in Moncton NB back in '93 - love these guys!!
This was one of their first big hits, but they’ve got so much good stuff. And Asia was exactly right about Garfunkel. Art Garfunkel was the other half of Simon and Garfunkel.
Pinch Me, The Old Apartment, One Week... Great songs!
Great Big Sea is another good 90s 2000s Canadian Band.
Great band , very unique try their songs- pinch me, it’s all been done, one week, the old apartment.. they actually sang the big bang theory theme as well!
Your reaction brought me so much joy! Thanks for the laughs!
Believe it or not they have a real deep discography. Everyone wrote them off as that band with the goofy songs but they have so much more than this and one week. I only listen to "War on Drugs" when I need a good cry. But that's because it does the job every time.
"Garfunkles an artist too, he a painter" Said with such confidence he probably believed it himself.
My brothers band opened for the BNL way back when. They changed their name to" Free Beer" for the night so outside on the marquee the sign read; "Free Beer with Barenaked Ladies" They do the best cover of "Lovers In A Dangerous Time" by Bruce Cockburn
Art Garfunkel is one half of "Simon and Garfunkel" ... He sang lead on "Bridge Over Troubled Water" that you reacted to...
BNL was one of my favorite bands growing up in the U.P. of Michigan. We'd get to hear some of these Canadian bands before they'd make it here in the US.
I had the hots for ED'S sister in high school in Scarborough, in the 70's, time flies.
I played that CD so many times. Saw them live in Sudbury. Great band, and they put on a great show.
Art Garfunkel is Garfunkel from Simon and Garfunkel…but I like how bj thought he was slick with his “knowledge” on fine art…love you guys!
As Canadian as it gets 🇨🇦💙
My friend and i won a talent show with this song in grade 2, but im convinced its because the teachers did it too, complete with costumes and props 😅
Omgah!! Yall are bringing me back! I love that yall are reacting to this. ♥♥♥
I love your banter about the Garfunkel. That slayed me. Good stuff. He's an artist alright!
The most fun I’ve ever had at a concert was The Barenaked Ladies! Not only are they a great band, they are hilarious!
It’s a play on Simon and Garfunkel lol
Barenaked Ladies always make me smile. I saw them a few years ago and it was a great show.
Fun fact, this song came out in 1992….the value of 1,000,000 dollars today would be 2,000,300….
The very first officiated hockey game I played in was with the Barenaked Ladies and whole bunch of Canadian musicians. After reading Dave Binidi’s book I emailed him and asked if an American brand new adult hockey player could come to the Exclaim Cup. Amazing memories.
The Old Apartment is a classic 90s banger...!!!!
Loved this reaction and the song brings back some awesome memories. Regarding the lyric, "I'd buy you some art, a Picasso or a Garfunkel..." Simon and (Art) Garfunkel.
AH A GREAT CANADIAN BAND .THEY ARE THE ONES THAT MADE THE THEME SONG FOR THE SHOW "THE BIG BANG THEORY "
A Chesterfield is a sofa or couch in Canada , Kraft Dinner is called KD in Canada or Kraft Mac n Cheese in the US, Garfunkel’s first name is ART
You should react to more of this band they are great. I have seen them several times. I think you would like "Brian Wilson" or "It's all Been Done", or "Call and Answer". If you get a chance to see them live they are great entertainers and a real fun show. Love the reaction because you get the very spirit of the song.
It’s All Been Done is such an underrated, GREAT song! Love it so much!
Jane , The Flag , Lovers In A Dangerous Time, Old Apartment.... so many good songs.
Their songs What A Good Boy and Brian Wilson from the same album are amazing. I saw them live along time ago in a small club. They're too fun.
What A Good Boy is an amazing deep cut by the barenaked ladies.
Other hits are
One Week
Brian Wilson
Jane
Thank you for doing the BareNaked Ladies!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I was having fun watching you having fun. Pinch Me, One Week The old Apartment are few other songs to check out. Cheers
Band members, in case no one's done this yet:
Ed Robertson - lead guitar, 'straight man' lines in this song, current lead singer
Steven Page - 'funny man' lines in this song, former lead singer
Jim Creeggan - bass (mostly *upright* bass at that; he didn't pick up electric bass until fairly recently)
Tyler Stewart - drums
Jim's brother Andy - keyboards until 1996
Kevin Hearn - keyboards from 1997 onward (he also occasionally does guitar, accordion, maybe some other stuff)
Steven left the band in 2009, combination of not having fun with it anymore and needing to get his life in one sock. He's got a solo career now, as I understand it. Ed, Jim, Tyler and Kevin are still putting out albums as BNL (dropped one last summer, in fact). I'm less familiar with the post-Page era, but everything I've heard is still wonderful.
Great song. They have some bangers
Keep in mind that this was written in the mid 90's in Canada, where then, you could basically retire with that amount of money
The Reliant K-car was a rather dorky sedan. :)
John Merrick was the 'Elephant Man'.
Their lyrics were so clever!
I just want to hug you both. So glad you enjoyed this simple song.
This made me smile sofa king much. Thank you for that moment of Joy!
I'm a fan of BNL... I love their music. Their concerts were amazing and fans turn out. The crowd sings along with every song but they adlib a bunch and have a ton of crowd interaction. I saw them on their Maroon tour and it was one of my favorite concerts ever to go to.
Don't know this band but l certainly like the band's name for some reason.🤔😂

Deadly Serious BNL: "The Flag" (note: this one's about domestic violence), "Helicopters," "War on Drugs," "Fun and Games"
Just Plain Good BNL: "Brian Wilson," "Box Set," basically all of Maybe You Should Drive, "The Old Apartment" (I didn't understand until I *had* an old apartment but I get it now), "Too Little Too Late," "Angry People"
This list barely scratches the surface. They can do it all.
Political BNL: Second Best, Yes Yes Yes, Maybe You're Right, Fun and Games, White Noise (actually Steven Page solo)
@@AS-wy6cl Also an excellent category. ("Fun and Games" hurts a LOT more than it used to, that's for sure.)
Thanks for the reaction to BNL! "This is Me in Grade 9" is another fun song. Lots going on in it.
Wow this takes me back! One of my faves by them! Thank you for discovering some of their early gems ☺️ Much love from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
Art Garfunkel from Simon and Garfunkel 🤣🤣🤣
BNL, some good Canadian boys. Their biggest hit in the states was “One Week” hit #1 in ‘98. And Garkunkel was a play on words referring to “Art” Garfunkel from Simon and Garfunkel
"If money can't buy happiness, I guess I'll have to rent it." ~ "Weird Al" Yankovic - This Is the Life
These guys loved throwing humour into their music, videos and shows. Thanks for giving them a try! ✌ from the great white north❄
Thank you! I laugh/cried listening to this with you. I fell over on the Art Garfunkel part. Thanks!
Playing something peaceful or humorous is how I like to start my day off rather than listening to the news
which is almost always depressing. When I first wake up, I am always depressed until I have my first two
cups of coffee and get good vibes from something. Even taking my cats out for their morning "hunt" helps.
This song always does it for me. This is more fantastic live. One of the best karaoke songs ever!
Love these guys in the day! Saw them live, they are very talented and funny! Love their addition of humor in their music! Very Canadian! Lol
Thanks guys, this reaction was hilarious, you to are so fun!! Appreciate you!💕
My son when he was little used to sing this song to me. It makes me cry.
The “Art” part...🤣
Asia picked up on it!!!! 👍🏼
this video confirms that you two are the cutest couple on youtube. yall have such a fun time riffing off eachother and im here for all of it!
I so loved this reaction! "He a painter" 😆 This song is just silly and happy.
I think the joke about art was missed. He said, "if I had a million dollars, I would buy you some art. == a Picasso or a Garfunkel" (as in "Art" Garfunkel). 🤣🤣🤣
They’re fantastic live!!!🎵👍🎶👌🎼✌️
I’ve seen them three times. Amazing each time!
“Chesterfield” is a Canadian word for couch or sofa .... and “Kraft Dinner” is boxed Mac and Cheese ... 😬👍🏼
Chesterfield is British, we just held onto it. 😉
nobody under the age of 80 in canada actually uses chesterfield though
I saw them in Niagara Falls 1995. Loved it. So fun. They were still throwing Mac and cheese on stage back then. With ketchup of course.
I always took the "I'd buy your love" as I'd spend it all on you. Like all the things aren't really important, it's who you share it with and the happiness that being carefree with the people who matter brings that they really want.
The Barenaked Ladies are frequently hysterical!
"I'd buy you some art" - a Picasso (actual art) or a Garfunkel (Art). 🤣
Great song! It's a happy song for me!
"John Merrick's remains..." Forgot about that line...about spit out my dessert, I was laughing so hard...
