Wasted careers are like the Earth.
30% covered by land.
70% covered by Manchester United signings.
Why must you hurt us so
or Chelsea signings.
That one doesn't even make sense. It might be the worst simile I've ever seen.
Fuck, even as a ManUtd fan, I wheezed with this. Good one
@@BrianStorm742That might be why its my favourite similie ever
It's so fucked up that Ravel Morrison was denied from taking his ADHD medicine...no idea why his discipline record was so inconsistent.
I mean adhd medication is basically speed, the shit is rocket fuel if you’ve ever had it… it also can make you extremely aggressive from personal experience
its even more nonsense he's on this list ahead of players like Balotelli. Just someone who showed promise at youth level, there are 100 of those each year.
Between this and Adriano, it seems football in general has a serious hard time acknowledging anything that’s not a physical injury. If they can’t see it or feel it, then it’s not there.
@@ninanano That's society as a whole, mental health treatment services are a joke in most of the world.
@@daarom3472 Yeah but you're missing the point of my comment I wasn't speaking so much about Ravel's talent compared to other footballers I was talking about how him being denied access from the medication he needed to treat his ADHD hampered his professional career no doubt.
Julian Draxler, he was great at Schalke but he moved to Wolfsburg instead of a better team, and in Psg he became Neymar's substitute and wasted his best years
My 3rd favourite player of all time 💙 Sad how his career went 😔
He sadly always moved for money. Wolfsburg paid much better with VW as de facto owners, PSG of course has a huge amoumt of Oil-money and now he is in Saudi Arabia. It just fits.
Sorry for being two weeks late, another Schalke player who could have featured, even if he wasn't as good as the others on this list, he definitely wasted his talent, is Max Meyer. Moving to Crystal Palace because he agreed with his agent to demand massive wages ruined his career.
Julian Draxler had a great career. Is he better than say Reus? Not really. He won titles and was paid a fortune, what more to ask for?
With a name like that he'd make a brilliant villain in a blockbuster movie.
3 first players, 3 lyon players, fuck my life
The Freddy Adu bits have to be my favorite part about this channel 😂
@aqeel-3771 he trialled at man u too, if there was anything there we would have seen it, tearing up pre-beckham MLS at 13 is remarkable, but it's not enough for the big game.
I remember him during my Fifa PS2 days, that guy was everywhere 😂
Remember that talented American before. Sad how the American system failed to understand comprehensively it from Adu's failure. The whole US footballing (soccer) system is a mess.
@@luishernandezblonde at least things seem to be improving today
@@unsolvedsandwiches A bit better, but still a total mess. USSF's mediocrity is prevailing because of Gregg Berhalter.
Adriano's story is proper sad. Had the world at his feet, was also a PES master, but unfortunately after personal issues like losing his father he was never the same
Crazy how a great amount of players that wasted their careers are from France. This explains the ability of France to produce superb football talents to a point it is so difficult to compete.
There is something fishy about les Bleus. Kicking cats, mothers of players all-over-the-place, strikes, players banned because of insulting Coach, or ordering to break colleauge knees. Moreover, according to what I' ve heard on some interview with Romain Molina few years ago, I got the impression that their youth system seems to be rotten to the core. And mister Molina is still digging. Apparently he just texted that 2nd part of his book will be out, like 22nd of april. I was worried about that journalist for some time.
Omitting criminal topics: there was one then youngster, that Kamil Glik (nonbulshit defender, famous for his strong will) mentioned. They met in France and he was especially fond of him. Guy was fast as wind, quick-witted on pitch as well (w/ and w/o ball), already gifted, yet hard working & humble. Kid joined even bigger club, and after few years he needs PRESIDENT of Vth republic himself to warn him, facetiously. I used to admire this kid, back then, when he still played at Stade Louis II.
I just hope there are also some instances looking after players, other than fifa or uefa. Especially after youngsters.
@@kapskutowykutodaktyl Rotten to the core like how? I'm curious
@@kapskutowykutodaktylHoly shit, just admit you're jealous and move on. This is ridiculous.
I think Balotelli and Dele Alli both make a strong case to be included here
Dele Alli just vanished and Balotelli is more a waste of talent than career but that is also the vase with almost everyone on this list
Balotelli still also won more than most of these players in the list also. Played a huge part in city’s first initial success
Dele still has time to turn it around
Ballotelli had a decent career so far. Won the treble with Inter, won the league with City. Had good spells at Milan.
Ali was a highlights player. Was way more inconsistent than people remember when he was in his best years at spurs. Would score an outrageous goal and then play terribly the rest of the game. This is coming from a spurs fan.
I understand the Adriano inclusion but I feel it’s harsh to deem his career as “wasted,” but rather “unfortunate “
exactly, very bad taste imo
I just remember one of his teammates saying when he got the call that his father had died he just started screaming, and he was inconsolable for a long time. Really awful
I also think wasted is a big word for his career. Sure he didnt extract the max but he still scored 180 clubs goals in 400 games and played in a WC. Klose had 250 in 680.
Great point
The Cassano - Montella duo behind Totti was one of the most wonderful things to have ever happened at Roma. Totti and Cassano were such a perfect fit together. I invite anyone to search for Totti Cassano duo compilations.
One of the reasons why he failed at Real Madrid aside from his commitment issues was the fact that he ate way too much chocolate.
I thought it was sweet pastries that he had a fondness for
@@chlcrk I heard it was Nutella, damn that thing is like cocain when I first arrived in Europe 😂
@@justhuy7960 He's told two separate stories. One is that he became besties with a hotel staff member who would bring him 3/4 cornetti pastries, then another is that he'd eat a whole jar of Nutella a day. So both could be right
@@chlcrk Without butter?! What a barbarian.
Guess he befriended Ronaldo fenomeno at Madrid.
Paul Vaessen - very sad story. Scored the winner in a European Semi-Final aged 18, then immediately had a career-ending leg break. Fell into addiction and died age 39. His story was detailed in "Fever Pitch" by Nick Hornby
Cassano is still living in Genoa where I live. You can often see him playing Padel or Tennis or driving around the city with his sons (the oldest one play for then Virtus Entella youth Academy).
He also has had a great weekly podcast with Adani, Ventola and Vieri.
He is incredibly smart and he love the game! One of his sons name is Lionel in honor of messi.
Fantantonio, what a talent he was...a bit crazy, but a Joy to watch.
Hatem Ben Arfa, without a shadow of a doubt. In his prime, he was as good of a dribbler as Messi.
His arc at Newcastle was crazy. A brilliant cameo on loan before injury, signed permanently, would be amazing at first when fit, gradually lost interest, fell out with everyone, got loaned to Hull where he fell out with everyone quicker and had his contact cancelled 4 months early
nah you're hyping him up too much
Was ruined by Pardew
@@archstanton6102 I'm aware some fans called it "Pardewed" at the time
At his best his dribbling is better than messis
Had Adriano not lost his dad, he'd have gone on to be one of the greatest ever. Can totally see why he'd go off the rails. What a player though
Maybe Mario Götze. He was seen as an up and coming star for German football, featured in Klopps Dortmund, scored the only goal in the 2014 WC Final and then dissapaered in Guardiolas Bayern.
Wasn't he chronically ill during his time at Bayern?
The one (notable) player that got worse under Pep
He was diagnosed with myopathy in his first year back at Dortmund. One could argue scoring a World Cup winning goal is more fitting for a video of "7 footballers who completed football earlier than expected"
according to countless of his very high profile former teammates, götze's raw talent was the greatest they had ever witnessed.
@@porfirijformer teammates always overstate and exaggerate. Gotza played in the same team as Lewandowski, he wasnt better than özil either.
Alen Halilovic, Robinho, Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri and Falcao are a few good shouts
Falcao the guy who holds basically every Europa league scoring record, and all time top scorer for his country? Don’t think so mate
Falcao didnt ruin his own career. His knee injury did. He was never the same after that injury. His comeback at monaco came a bit too late. He was a monster pre injury at athletico and one of the few strikers i feared whenever he was on the field
Halilovic never showed anything on a professional level. I don't think he had it in him...
Not Xerdan- was qualityh squad player for some big teams picking up some big medals. (Liverpool fan here- he scored couple crucial goals in our 2019 title season...)
goals plus medals off the bench/ deputising for injured first teamers like against barcelona = not a flop, just a squad player with insane talent
A video about Iran's football please. Still waiting for football of my tragic country, a country that produced a lot of talents yet underperformed in many major tournaments (Asian Cup and World Cup), and how corruption caused by the Islamic Republic ruined our football potential.
Didn't think of it at the first place but good to mention. Iran is a strange case, producing a lot of football talents but for some reasons, they can't live up to expectation.
It's so frustrating how ManU used to create star players and now we ruin generational talents. Coming to Old Trafford is a terrible idea for the most part, for most players.
Pogba is such a tragic figure. He has the talents, but wasted it.
I wonder how much these players, especially Pogba, are ruined by others greed. In Pogba's case, Raiola and his own family definitely is a huge part of what happened.
I do think Alfie kind of ignore how good he stayed with France in the same way Griezmann has been in his weaker periods in club.
How did he "wasted" it?
I mean, the guy won world cup and so on. He wasted nothing.
His carrer just ended badly, but he didn't wasted it
He didn't waste it, United did for him, just like they did for many other players
@@RomaInvicta202 not even United managed to do that.
Saw Adriano in the flesh playing a Champions league match in 05
He scored in a 1-1 draw in Glasgow in a game where both sides qualified for the last 16. I remember being terrified of him when we were drawn with Inter Milan, Porto and a previously unknown Artmedia Bratislava, who had just put 5 past our rivals Celtic in the qualifiers.
Balotelli defo should be in top 7, this lad was unearthly talented and the way he destroyed his career was indeed spectacular
Forget that. He is now largely forgotten but this dude was a hilarious player at prime.
(Dis)honorable mention to John Guidetti. Three hattricks in a row for Feyenoord. Great at U21 level. But he effectively amounted to nothing given the hype around him.
Also, terrible hair in later years
He said he was Feyenoord until he'd die, but he never returned. He would undoubtedly be better off if he did.
@@bezoekers The man has done the same at every club he’s ever been in. It’s a bit sad, I think he just wants to feel like he belongs.
Vab de beek was so good at Ajax and yet united hit again
Surely Robinho deserved a mention from being labelled the next Pele at Santos to a 9 year prison sentence now
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 626)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
Loser
Just let it go.
Well it feeds the algorithm I suppose.
Bert Trautmann would be #1, Ozil or Ballack for #2
I hope he makes the video after your 999th comment
A big waste of potential I think of Giovani dos Santos, won the u-18 world cup for Mexico, won the Gold Cup in 2011 having the best goal in the competition, played with prime Barcelona, nicknamed the Mexican Ronaldihno but he wasted his career in Europe partying
Yup
Honestly a more comprehensive video about Italy's football crisis is needed. Since 1960s, Italy had never appointed a foreign coach, which had something to do with their past successes. However, this is no longer the case when their last presence in World Cup was in South America and their footballers are struggling to make major impacts, and I believe this had something to do with their extreme conservatism as Italy produced no new good football manager (except for Carlo Ancelotti). In fact, they are even weaker than Albania and Croatia, leave alone Spain.
Italy hasn't produced no new good football managers??????
@@GreekHouseEffect Except for Ancelotti, who else? De Zerbi flopped with Brighton already. Gattuso was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, we are introducing Luis Enrique, Xavi, Xabi Alonso and Mikel Arteta. Believe not, Italy will be eliminated from the group stages with the way how they are functioning. I am adamant that Italy will sign a non-Italian manager, sooner or later.
@@elmatadoraelmatador2587 Inzaghi is one of the most innovative managers in the world right now. Spalletti did magic with Napoli last season. These two were literally in the top 3 of FIFA's best managers for last season. Motta is leading Bologna to the UCL. Gasperini has turned a low-table side into a major power of Italian football. De Zerbi flopped? Brighton is in the top 10 of the PL despite having one of the smaller budgets in the league. Even coaches who are in their best form right now, like Sarri, Conte, Allegri and Pioli have had amazing seasons before. De Rossi is also showing great promise, too. What a ridiculous comment to make...
@@GreekHouseEffect You are telling about those coaches whose successes lie entirely in Serie A, which mean they are only good at home but not abroad. With Ancelotti being the lone exception today, who else?
@@elmatadoraelmatador2587 De Zerbi, who has not flopped lol
Day 16: 7 best seasons before Retirement of All time (like Cruyff's season with Feyenoord)
Sebastian Deisler. Never heard of the guy? Made it to Bayern and quit at age 27 in 2007 because he didn't have enough trust in his knee.
Rightfully called "Basti Fantasti". He seems to be happy now, so it's not really wasted.
struggled with severe depression throughout his whole professional career. in terms of pure talent, he could have become a true legend of the game, competing for the highest individual honours.
A video about Australia's struggle to integrate in the AFC since joining in 2006 is worth mentioning. They had just had a nightmarish U-23 Asian Cup campaign (no goal in the group stage), whereas the U-20 and U-17 teams, like the U-23, have never won a single AFC youth trophy. Their only trophy has been the senior Asian Cup title in 2015 and the ACL trophy in 2014. Even my country Morocco, renowned for also being a major underachiever in Africa until recently, at least won one U20 and one U23 AFCON. Does it have something to do with Australia's overreliance on diaspora footballers?
I think he talked about before (or maybe it was someone else) but Australian youth football is becoming more pay to get into an academy instead of giving the poorest most determined talents a chance like for example in France
Diaspora footballers? In the 1970's and 1980's , I'd agree with you/ But those days are long gone in reality
Australia's problem is the woeful home league we have. Sure , there will always be 3 or 4 good talents playing overseas, the rest of the national team selection is 2nd rate players, playing in 3rd rate leagues.
And this is were the A League comes in. It is a 4th rate league. It has no passion, no development, players are not challenged because they constantly move from club to club on 1 year deals. The wild predictions of huge media deals in the future, never happened. The "Marquee" player system, whilst a positive idea in the beginning, is just a farce.
No disrespect, but when Bruno Fornaroli is considered the "best" for many years running, He couldn't even make it for Uruguay. There in lies the problem. The A League isn't focused on creating a legacy or development, it's only interest is in surviving. Football is very very popular, but the A League is dominated by short sighted Execs and populated by old world style fans with their ethnic divides simmering underneath!
@@samuelschonenberger100% correct
Australia’s problems are similar to the US, Nigeria, Ghana, Canada and India, which are devastated by the pay-to-play football. The USMNT represents the exact example of this mismanagement, having a lot of recent talents but none have proven capable at making breakthrough.
As long as Australia stuck with the same Americanised system, they will struggle to improve.
cuz no one really likes the aleauge, people just watch the NRL, AFL or even NBL when they want to watch domestic sport and get their fix of soccer through europe top 5 and chamspion leauge
This definitely requires a Part 2, and maybe a Part 3.
Great video as always Alfie. Top tier
#8 is me and my highschool academic career. 💩

This is the fairest analysis I have ever observed about Pogba.
I have to tell you Alfie. You are class.
fully agree about ndombele, this guy was the most talented player i’ve ever seen at spurs (even above mousa dembele). he’s a generational talent but just so unbelievably lazy and unmotivated. part of me thinks if he joined a few years earlier he would’ve been world class. him and mousa could’ve been the best cms in the world no doubt
When I saw the title of the video I though of Pogba and Neymar but No I think they had incredible careers than most footballers. Freddy Adu where are you???🤣🤣🤣
Freddy Adu is the Legend of the channel I came to see him, He must the most mentioned player in this channel
While it probably isn't the most interesting topic, it would be cool if you made a video about Siirtspor - a Turkish club that was bought by the CEO of an otomotive company in the late 90s, bought a player at a price rumoured to be roughly half of the Turkish transfer record at the time (while the team was in the 3rd tier), won back to back promotions and fell back down after the CEO went bankrupt. The club was closed in 2020 and the CEO has had multiple legal issues involving fraud, and recently got sentenced to 2 thousand (yes, thousand) years in prison
I seem to remember years ago reading an article about a young Argentinian striker called Javier Saviola who had just signed for Barcelona, the journalist was predicting that he could be one of the greatest players of all time based on his youthful promise. Now, of course Saviola had an excellent career overall but his return of 49 goals over 6 seasons at Barca hardly makes him the legendary player that was predicted.
7 football teams that qualified for promotion, tournament, or nations but did not compete
Congrats on 600k Alfie!
Love the use of the Limmy clip
Can Alfie make a video about the devastating decline of Tunisian football? We have just endured a humiliation in the 2022 World Cup, losing to a struggling Australia where football is not no.1 sport and only qualified by a lucky playoff spot; then we followed by losing to Namibia in the 2023 AFCON. The whole Tunisian football system is a total mess and there are signs that we don't know when will the light arrive.
Further Adu missing out on this 7 is a bit of a crime tbf
Always wake up early for a HITC Sevens!
Regarding ravel Morrison. I saw him play 45 minutes in a Pre season friendly between Brighton and Lazio. And even in half a game in an inconsequential pre season game he is still the most naturally talented footballer I have seen in the flesh. What a waste of a talent.
"The simple truth is, not all of us become the men we once hoped we might be..."
I think the honorable/dishonourable mentions would have made a better list and been more interesting. Out of the ones included, it seems like Cassano, Ben Arfa and Morrison were the most fitting. I think it would have been interesting if you put Hulk or Quaresma in for wasting their careers chasing a bag when they had the abilities instead. Or players like Munain who could have done a lot more if he just moved to a bigger club.
Damn, I thought this was the finally the one vid where Freddie would genuinely feature in the Seven 😂
Balotelli is the first person that comes to mind. An amazing talent with the worst fucking attitude you could possibly have.
Day 4: 7 players who peaked before the age of 20
Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Jack Rodwell, Ronaldo, Renato Sanches, Julian Draxler, Max Meyer.
@@needfoolthings 2009/10 Rooney (24) was something else. Phil Jones maybe
@@needfoolthings Owen, Rooney and Ronaldo? What are you smoking?
@@WesT10109 They peaked before the age of 20. I smoke banana peel strings dipped in acetone, but what does that have to do with the topic at hand?
Pato was wrecked by injuries, but his career took that path because of his COMPLETE disconnection from reality.
Recently, he went on a tour at brazilian podcasts and it was shocking to see how he doesn't understand that he's not fulfilled anything that he was poised to. A big waste.
From a German perspective, Sebastian Deisler and (to a somewhat lesser extent) Marko Marin come to mind.
Congrats on 600k!
I would say that Man United have overachieved with the very average squad they had. In 2018 they had 4 world class outfield players with Matic, Pogba, Sanchez and Lukaku and they finished 2nd. Their worst season is this season and they only have Bruno Fernandes as the 'world class' player. The rest are either good talents, or washed footballers.
I fully expected Mario Balotelli to be #1 on the list
Who knew Cassano started out at Barry Town United?
Nice video as always! I have an idea of video: The best club in the world for each letter of the alphabet (example: Arsenal, Barcelona, Cagliari...). It can also work with the best XI for each letter.
Would love a video on the state of Mo Ihatteran’s career!
Tottenham tends to blight many players careers e.g Huddlestone, Bentley, Lamela, Ricky Villa
Do "we need to talk about the FA Cup replays." I need to know the full details on why FA Cup should exist.
"Able to get up and down the pitch at speed...." Seriously? which version of Ndombele were you watching? He is one of the slowest players in modern football!
"Cassano was above all else, an idiot" 😂 well said
Really missed Sebastian Deisler here, propably the biggest german talent in the last 30 years, looked like a future Ballon d'Or winner in his early career and then totally fell off due to depression and inability to cope with the expectations.
I'd be great to think about how football would be without social media especially thinking about the effect it has on footballers considering most aren't very smart.
"Wasted careers" is a bit exaggerated. Most of them accomplished more than 99% professional players did. They peaked in their prime (late teens, early 20s) and then it went downhill, which I think is normal.
What is truly rare is for players to have the discipline, professionalism, intelligence and luck to keep that level for another whole decade or so, when things get harder.
Also people saying "this guy is gonna be the next... " are idiots.
Pogba is the most obvious one. Genius footballer. Turned up at Man Utd (again) and did nothing. Never have I heard of someone so hyped up who then did zero on the pitch. I don’t know whether he suddenly hated the game or just disliked Manchester (possible) but he was one of the most mediocre nothing players
Still waiting for a video about Kazakhstan's football sportswashing. Its UEFA membership since 2002, despite gross human rights violation and persecution of dissidents, is further capitalised by our European failure (NATO and EU, by contrast, banned Kazakhstan from joining for these reasons) to understand the Astana dictators. UEFA's mishandling of Kazakhstan has fuelled Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and China's sportswashing, which had resulted in cases like the 2022 World Cup held by Qatar or upcoming 2034 tournament in Saudi Arabia, and, perhaps, contributed to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well.
Whoa! Take it easy a bit, mate. According to you, Kazakhstan is guilty of… pretty much everything?
...not to mention causing the Holocaust, the Covid Pandemic, the JFK assassination and the extinction of the Dinosaurs.
@@burkutkypshakbayev9254 I can't say it's guilty of everything. But since Kazakhstan fuelled sportswashing by joining UEFA in 2002 and their actions have received little attention, we all know where Bin Salman, Al Thani family, Putin and Xi got inspiration from.
@@burkutkypshakbayev9254 I don't say Kazakhstan is fully guilty. But when Kazakhstan joined UEFA in 2002, their membership has been condemned by European human rights councils for years. But since UEFA only wants to appease for money, Europe failed. Thus you know where Bin Salman and Putin learnt inspiration from.
such an underrated channel
Watching Ben Arfa play as a Newcastle fan, especially during 2011/12, was really something special. Such a shame he wasn’t able to maintain that level.
Ayyyyy, Alfie Gang 🖤
John Bostocks career was ruined by Tottenham signing him & his Dad/Agent. Debut at Palace at 15 first team football. Sold to Tottenham by his ‘Agent’ with Palace unaware. Hardly played. All about the money.
A young me thought that when we had Amr Zaki at Wigan, he would be a world beater for us and give us a 20+ goal season when he first came and be a great investment if we signed him permanently... At least we had Valencia.
Hearing Adu's name for the 10millionth time, I'm sitting here wondering what list he's actually featured on here apart from being an "appetizer" 😂
Adriano 😢 wenn i forst heard of him and San the GOALS he scored I wonder why nobody talked about him as one of the goat contenders ...
Then I watched a Video about his story and its just sad to see what happend at least he is well now
Fabian O'Neill fits the bill, RIP. Described by Zidane as the most talented teammate he's ever played with. His career never reached the heights that it could have due to his battle with alcoholism, which he unfortunately lost in 2022 at 49 years old.
I was expecting to find Adrian Mutu somewhere on this list.
To be hones even managers are to be blamed for wasted careers.
For instance when there's a change in the coach, he might have altogether different plan on which the particular player might not fit in however good he may be.
As he result the player suffers bench time or even wanders different clubs under loans. This also makes them demotivated and depressed. Hence they will not be able to develop their skills further due to the changing environment. How can one develop their career when they are keep on having to change their colleagues and company every 6 months or so.
Personally, I felt that Nasri and Ozil could have done so much more. Ozil purely based on numbers could have been a big three together with Ronaldo and Messi.
Özil is a world Cup winner and key in that 2014 win. He also had a really good career with Real Madrid and Arsenal.
22:25 he's not wrong, joy-worthy goal
ALFMANSPICE HAPPY 600K BRO
No 1 is Neymar convince me otherwise at the age of 21 he had more goals then both Messi and Ronaldo and had the talent to surpass both in his younger years and this season he finally had a chance to try and become the king of football by winning ballon d'or but he went to Saudi to play poker... You didn't mentioned him once 😅😅
Another ex toon guy is Andy Carroll. Was a genuine star for us for years , never should have left
It's about time to make a video on Freddy Edu
He did already.
Mosie kean ? I remember 2 3 yrs back he was beings hyped as a rising talent. Nowadays no mention of him anywhere.
Freddy Adu has to feature
I’m a bit shocked that Balotelli didn’t make the list
You can list all the things Ndombele was good at. Unfortunately not falling over all the time is not one of them
Pogba is overrated. Media wouldn't even mention him if he wasn't from Referee United. Kante was the one winning World Cup for France.
Adel Taarabt is a worthy mention, the kid was a joy to watch at QPR and even at times in Milan. If not for the attitude and lack of discipline, he would’ve been world class.
Nicklas Bendtner could also be included here.
Ariel Ortega is another great example. He was declared "The New Maradona" and was unplayable in his prime, but due to alcoholism and self-sabotage, he destroyed his career, leaving behind a legacy of unfulfilled potential.
His headbutt to the chin of vd Sar in the quarterfinals Netherlands - Argentina certainly didn’t help.
Adriano defo doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Today’s generation don’t realise how good this guy was supposed to be. Absolute beast
Mario Balloteli should have been on the main list, not the honorable mentions.
While I agree with Pogba's inlcusion, he did win a world cup...soo....
The streets won't forget Adriano on the Pro Evo 6 cover. Warra game!
Me looking at my FM15 save where Adnan Januzaj won Ballon d'Or, James Wilson was in top 3 twice, and Phil Jones is among top defenders in the world
The idea of Phil Jones being regarded as the new Maldini is the kind of stuff that makes football manager hilarious to me. Love it.
@@PeakDennisReynolds he also became Man Utd captain (well, I made him) and was playing on both CD RB and rarely CDM, so you're kinda right with Maldini comparison
Tiémoué Bakayoko is another honorable mention for me. I think that Cassano had also some heart problems, no? Although they can hardly be blamed for his downfall - look at Christian Eriksen who bounced back exceptionally well.
Finally! A video about Matt Le Tissier
I had a feeling that David Bentley would feature and if he did, especially with a couple from the dishonorably mentioned list, this could have been a Lyon vs Tottenham showdown.
pogba failed at united because he never got the attacking license he needed to succeed. Imagine playing bellingham in a two man pivot because he is 6'2 and strong. Madness!
The thing with Bellingham is that he can play anywhere really well. His former coach said it. No one in the world can play all positions as well as him. That's why he was allowed to move around more freely than other players
play bellingham deeper and he wouldnt get the stats he has right now at madrid. people would then say he is not living up to his price tag (the exact problem pogba had)@@damana1000
galatasaray are known to do incredible business on the transfer market. icardi, torreira, davinson sanchez being a few examples. i wouldnt be suprised if they manage to sign ndombele for around 5-6 mil euros, regardless of his 15 mil release clause. the guy still has a huge potential. all he needs to do is lose the weight and put his mind to the game.
