This is really nice! I would maybe opt for a more realistic background - it felt kinda bland to me, but overall amazing job! (I was looking for some Vorlon action on UA-cam and this popped out - I am satisfied.) :)
You won't get no argument out of me man unlike Star Trek didn't play that Shields up shit when you got shot you got shot baby if you took on a big enough damage your ass got blown to hell and back nope no shoes up here not in this universe
"I'll just fly straight into these DOOMY DOOM BEAMS OF DOOM without using any of my weapons, what could go wro-- OH MY GOD, IT BURNS!!! AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Not very exciting tactical manuevers but it was fun to watch again the jump points opening... :)
If you remember the episode where Sharidan and Ivanova visited Kosh's ship on B5, you'd also remember the ship had the ability to fire in all directions (Sharidan's chest, for example). None of that ability by Vorlon ships was shown here.
White Star Captains: "That Vorlon ship has massive forward firepower, what should we do?" "Let's approach from the front instead of flanking and pecking it to death." "Sounds good to me." And one of the Minbari Captains thought the same thing too. The second one was smart and fired his gun at full power from close range. The earth ship is clumsy so it had to take the shot available. Visually it is impressive, but for your next film I'd suggest someone to plot out fleet tactics for you.
+Todd Kes That's exactly what I was thinking for most of the battle. That, and concentrate your fire, which is something you pretty much never see in sci fi space battles.
Heh. You've never seen the epic battle in the B5 episode "Between the Darkness and the Light." Some stuff you definitely wouldn't do in space fleet tactics, but at one point, boy do they concentrate their firing! Still for my money one of the best space battle sequences ever put on film (along with the "Severed Dreams" episode that Maria Locke made reference to above).
But thats what Dreadnaughts were, they are the unix mentality of battle ships...do one thing well and do it good and the end of battleships were planes and torpedoboats.
You really can't say it's the ISA fleet because it's only Whitestars, Sharlins and an Omega. At best, it's a Combined Minbari/EA/Rangers taskforce. Without a few Drazi, Vree, Brakiri and Narn ships in the mix you can't really say it's even the nascent ISA fleet of the 2nd Shadow War.
Well, technically the ISA wasn't formed before the Vorlons left. This could be a rogue Vorlon ship that didn't leave, however, you are correct that it's not an EA fleet.
absolutely stunning work... just one problem: Earth Alliance is literally just the Earth and its colonies. Neither Minbari cruisers nor white stars are part of the Earth Alliance! I think what you meant, was the Interstellar Alliance, that was formed at the end of the series.
Nicely animated! I would remind you that Vorlon ships have shields and I will forgive the phaser sounds. I actually got the chills seeing an Omega rushing into battle once more.
This is far and away the best fan made B5 I have seen. Textures are great, lighting is great. Camera work is really good. I have a ton of B5 ships modeled and ready to go. I would be curious to know what you used to do your effects. Awesome job!
+Kellhound32 Fank you very much o.O I did this a year ago, and I've learnt much since. Everything was done in Lightwave, no post. Have a look at my Whitestar Vs Galaxy Class Starship video, it'll make you chuckle :)
Very good but I guess I have a little gripe, this could have used this as an opportunity to show up the features the Omega destroyer was designed with but were never shown in the series: launching the fighters from the rotating hub, using the missile ports along the side of its hull, and using the big guns unders the docking bay
Much more likely: White Stars come in as scouts, the Dreadnought comes in and engages while the White Stars take evasive action. The White Stars relay the Vorlon's position to the Minbari, who form jump-points right on the Vorlon's ass, dealing heavy damage. The Omega class launches missiles at the damaged Vorlon ship while the White Stars and the two Sharlin cruisers target damaged sections with their energy weapons. A couple of nukes fired into the heart of the Vorlon ship do the trick, and everyone jumps out alive.
Things I don't understand about sci fi space battles: Why the ships are always flying towards each other, and almost always oriented upwards in the same plane. Why the weapons are so weak on ships that have propulsion systems that would exceed Earth's power output. Why energy weapons would ever miss.
In B5 they actually not always fly so stupid as in other franchises. But the logic always is, they are kinda on bombing run. By having and changing high speed they're trying to dodge plasma, kinetic, rocket weapons, which all have quite slow speed (only lasers and other *direct* energy weapons have speed of light (it's speed is also finite and they also could be dodged sometimes, if you use gravity-based sensors and distance is huge for example)). Continuusly changing acceleration they can change their projected trajectory, so enemy would have to guess where to fire. With weak weapons I completely agree. Stupid plot device so ships could be damaged but heroes would valiantly continue to fight despite injuries, etc, etc, etc And even infinite-speed weapons could miss if you consider crazy ECM-like tech future can bring ^^ For example, they think it's the right spot in the Universe, but enemy ship mostly is in another dimension and stuff =) Not sure how to put it in English correctly.... Too tired. So: Воспринимаемая позиция врага из-за разной размерности пространства не соответствует позиции врага в его локальной размерности пространства "The perceived position of the enemy due to the different dimensions of space does not correspond to the position of the enemy in his local space dimension"
I feel the Vorlon ships were more advanced then represented here.. they were thought of as virtually unbeatable. I feel even with the one Minbari cruiser and the White Stars drawing fire while the other two capital ships and their attending fleets flanked the dreadnought, this fight wouldn't have been this easy.
Their beams had much greater range. That's a problem. All those ships would be sliced up before they could do anything. Shadow vessels were unable to do much damage to a Vorlon ship which were more protected.
Major problem here... that class of ship in the show is shown to have shielding. The very first shot fired in this hits the hull. Given the shields took a direct hit from a similar class of Shadow vessel in the show, I don't think a Whitestar would punch through like it didn't exist.
Why were those white stars sent ahead to be picked off one by one? That fleet knew it was facing a formidable opponent, so there only chance, would be to fight as a combined fleet. Otherwise, why form a fleet in the first place? This video, shows quite the opposite occuring. They really had to no business winning. The visuals were good, but the animation and movement was fairly wooden.
Although EA's losses were staggering, numbers and teamwork prevailed in the face of overwhelming firepower. Up until now I've not seen weapons capable of quick destruction of Shadow ships like the Vorlons' beams.
Well done! Bravo! Only missing a voice over of Interplanetary Expeditions marking the co-ordinates of the wreckage for the special weapons division. LOL
Ever notice how they had to exit hyperspace to engage with each other rather than fight within hyperspace. Both fleets can be lying in hyperspace ready to enter the battle and yet not even be aware of each other yet individual ships can remain close enough together to see and communicate with each other and they even had episodes where they searched for spaceships lost in hyperspace.
The show explains (and shows) that hyperspace massively screws with weapons. They flat out say in the show that if you fire your shot's just as likely to turn around and hit you as it is to hit the enemy. It's impossible to predict where your weapons fire will go in hyperspace thus it's too dangerous to try and fight there.
Not to poke a hole in the video, but why are there Minbari and EA ships fighting alongside each other? They never did that, save for when B5 broke away from the EA - and that was only a small fraction of Minbari ships loyal to Delenn and her crusade, not the entire Minbari Federation as a whole.
personally i thought the tactics the EA fleet used were amateur, as the vorlon ship was like a dog only dangerous from the front, i'd have attacked all ships at once from the sides and rear, hence suffered no loses..good vid though
If you remember the episode where Sharidan and Ivanova visited Kosh's ship on B5, you'd also remember the ship had the ability to fire in all directions (Sharidan's chest, for example). None of that ability by Vorlon ships was shown here.
Very nice - but the Dreadnaught would never be alone, and since it shrugged off attacks from the largest Shadow ships, and took out most shadow ships with ease - It would easily defend against the ships in the EA fleet, likely without even taking any damage, and wipe them out ease
Not true... a wing of white stars knocked out a vorlon listening post and that thing would have been armed to the teeth just like a dreadnaught... not to mention it has a limited firing arc and any ships getting behind it would cut it up and we all know how fast a white star can 180 and bank... (which I note wasnt a tactic used in this video) but I agree the ship would never be alone it would have support vessels with it to defe4nd its vulnerable points...
I think you are meaning ISA Fleet, Interstellar Alliance, EA is Earth Alliance (only humans) Sheridan became president of ISA as well as Entil'Zah (Ranger One) later in the series Great video! looking forward to more!! I really miss B5!!
When did the EA get Mimbari heavy cruisers and a sizable fleet of it's own Whitestars? Also the fact that the one time we see Vorlon ships engaged in a large scale battle it took the combined firepower of far more ships, including an uncounted number of Whitestars to take down their large ships, yes the planet killer was much larger, but even the dreadnaughts had little trouble against the combined fleet during which all three sides were shooting the other two. Great work on the animation, the viduals were great, although I didn't care for the sound of the main weapons fire.
Problem #1. What's with the 'whooshing' sound? They're in space, there's no sound in space. #2. That''s not the Earth Alliance. EA has only Human engineered ships. If anything, that's an Interstellar Alliance fleet. #3. Vorlon tech is about a Billion years ahead of Human tech. That Earth Force ship's lasers has as much chance of harming a Vorlon ship as a single ant has of killing you by throwing a rock.
Several times in the series, the old ones were described as "billions of years ahead of us". Then they reveal that the shadows and vorlons are both "old ones" (considered two of the old races). And I agree. They killed both Vorlons and shadows far too easily. Consider the conquistadors V. the Aztecs. And that was a tech difference of just a couple hundred years. And we never did see one of the shadow infantry in combat. It should have been a slaughter. And that's another thing about B5. They regularly underestimated populations by about 1000.
The Vorlons were a race of immortals. Therefore their organic ships were also very durable. JMS said that because of that, the Vorlon ships were a mismash of technologies, with the ancient technology still floating around. The old antiquated stuff was used because the Vorlons did not take any of the young races seriously. Their newest tech was engaged elsewhere for more important tasks somewhere else--perhaps fighting the Walkers of Sigma (who disliked the Vorlons for some prior reason), not dealing with EA ships. Some of the ships might have been a million years old. Also, the Earth force intelligence was ultra limited. Imagine we run into an alien civilization spread out across the galaxy billions of years older. With only one reference point of contact in time and space, how much of it's history and inner working would stay forever hidden.
jdlech billions in an evolutionary scale maybe but technologically they were a million/s of years ahead of us. Every source says they achieved jump point tech 1 million years ago.
Babylon 5 is an amazing show. The fans are dedicated, hardcore people who adore it wholeheartedly, and fans who will make an animated short battle set in the show's universe are the top kind of awesome. Massive salute to you, sir. o7 I feel it would be churlish to criticize it excessively, so I'll just say that the general feel did not match up well with the actual show and it's probably because of the cinematography being vastly different, as well as the greater length of shots and of the scene. My personal opinion ;) and it definitely has a unique feel due to that, just not that authentic B5 feel I expected. Thank you for this!
Ahhh, I did you an injustice. I went to see that one as well as a few other newer ones, and they're much more in line with the "feel" of the show. :) Very well done! I am thoroughly impressed. You should try making an entire movie at some point ;) call it a summer project or something.
Yeah, but it didn't match the message they actually give you as well. Besides, there's some extra subtext in the new one for anybody that played SWtoR. ... And this second comment got edited because my cat decided to run up and tap the send button.
Very nice. I thought it was from the series until the lack of dialogue raised my suspision so very good work. Doesn't the Vorlon use a lightning instead of beam weapon?
Nicely done! Just been noodling around, rewatching old clips, and didn't realize this was a fan edit! So, kudos on quality, but would you explain WHY Minbari, White Star and EA destroyers would mixing it up with the Vorlons? I don't remember any plot twists that would account for that.
Great FX! The scenario makes precious little sense, though ... why didn't the Young Race fleet coordinate their fire? Instead, they flew about all willy- nilly, much as Starfleet ships do when confronted with a Borg juggernaut or like opponent.
The quality of the animation and of the sound effects itself is high but the scenario is offensive. There's one Earth ship with the majority of the fleet being Minbari cruisers and Vorlon/Minbari hybrids... Yet the title says Earth Alliance Fleet versus Vorlon. It makes no sense. None. It just looks pretty.
Nice but lacks dynamics otherwise good one but why that vorlon ship do almost nothing? as far as i remember shadow battle crab was equal with vorlon in battle strenght and yet battle crab would wipe flor with that EA minbari alliance fleet...
Ignore The Negativity..... Best Fan Made Video Hands Down And Easily Rivals The Show Itself..... Please Keep Them Coming Like Part Two Of The Shadow War Full Feature Teaser And Others..... Thank You For Your Efforts And Hard Work........
Awesome. Just goes to show, even having superior tech, and a bigger ship does not win over insurmountable odds. Even the Shadows knew to attack with a few ships of their own and then had smaller ships to distract and cause chaos.
After a month's graft here's my latest homage to Babylon 5
Enjoy :)
This is really nice! I would maybe opt for a more realistic background - it felt kinda bland to me, but overall amazing job! (I was looking for some Vorlon action on UA-cam and this popped out - I am satisfied.) :)
Cheers, sorry the Vorlon got toasted !!!
No, do not be. :D It was awesome. I have watched some other of your videos and it is amazing how far you have come with your skills! Loved this! :)
+Alexander Schneider Awesome job. How does one do things like that? :)
+SpacialKatana Very cool!
There is one absolute and unconditional truth in the universe, Babylon 5 is the greatest television ever.
I dunno. I've heard Panasonic and Samsung make pretty good televisions, too. :p
b scar .... Well played well played :P
Amen to that brother.
You won't get no argument out of me man unlike Star Trek didn't play that Shields up shit when you got shot you got shot baby if you took on a big enough damage your ass got blown to hell and back nope no shoes up here not in this universe
Oh DS9 and SG1 were pretty strong!
I remember when this video first went viral in January, 2261. It gave everyone's morale a real shot in the arm!
Wow, I was trying to remember which episode this was from before I realised it was fan made.
Awesome work!
"I'll just fly straight into these DOOMY DOOM BEAMS OF DOOM without using any of my weapons, what could go wro-- OH MY GOD, IT BURNS!!! AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
Not very exciting tactical manuevers but it was fun to watch again the jump points opening... :)

YES
They concentrated fire to kill that borg cube in star trek after they had rescued picard from the borg and he gave them the coordinates to fire at.
I miss B5 and this brought back great memories of a great show:)
If your EA and going up against the Vorlons, I wouldn't even bother showing up without a Warlock destroyer.
Or dozen. Or hundred =)
The thing about conflict is, that you work with what you've got.
And a change of underwear.
Warlock destroyers came after the Vorlons left the galaxy.
If this is the EA where are the 500+ freaking Auroras they always seem to have?
That was awesome I loved the part where the Vorlon ship cut the Minbari Cruiser in half
It'd be nice to see the 'fleet' actually shooting rather than lining up in a row to die.
Thanks Guy's, enjoyed the short film loved B5 back in the day.
Are you sure this isn't "The Interstellar Alliance vs. Vorlon Dreadnought"?
You really can't say it's the ISA fleet because it's only Whitestars, Sharlins and an Omega. At best, it's a Combined Minbari/EA/Rangers taskforce. Without a few Drazi, Vree, Brakiri and Narn ships in the mix you can't really say it's even the nascent ISA fleet of the 2nd Shadow War.
Pretty sure this is "1 EA destroyer, 2 Minbari cruisers, and a bunch of White Stars vs. Vorlon Dreadnought"
That makes more sense
Well, technically the ISA wasn't formed before the Vorlons left. This could be a rogue Vorlon ship that didn't leave, however, you are correct that it's not an EA fleet.
Oh yeah... there you have it.
absolutely stunning work... just one problem: Earth Alliance is literally just the Earth and its colonies. Neither Minbari cruisers nor white stars are part of the Earth Alliance! I think what you meant, was the Interstellar Alliance, that was formed at the end of the series.
We can forgive such errors, it shows how terrible the elder races are in B5 perfectly
The Earth Alliance destroyer was lucky to survive that engagement.
If I remade this, it'd be better quality and have a different outcome 😉
Nicely animated! I would remind you that Vorlon ships have shields and I will forgive the phaser sounds. I actually got the chills seeing an Omega rushing into battle once more.
This was so entertaining! Thanks.
This Scenes are Iconics people. This was a Good Sci Fi Show. Thanks.

It’s a crime we haven’t gotten a good Babylon 5 video game yet.
Never will.
Cool battle thank you for making, and posting this video.
Congrats Katana. That was amazing. Loved your work. :)

yes I think they would use the same tactic. The IA fleet lost a Sharlin warcruiser for what?
Things I don't understand about sci fi space battles:

Beautifully animated! Nearly as good as the original show's effects!

@@champisthebunny6003 because it is dumb writimg.
Although EA's losses were staggering, numbers and teamwork prevailed in the face of overwhelming firepower.

" overwhelming firepower" it only fired the one time lol
Lovely motion, of the cameras as well as the vehicles.
Great work!
Nice to see you here Nick (F3D) + thanks !
Well done! Bravo! Only missing a voice over of Interplanetary Expeditions marking the co-ordinates of the wreckage for the special weapons division. LOL
Good video but how is it EA vs Vorlons?
ISA vs Vorlons would have been far more accurate.
+hildemel How would that have been 'far more accurate' when the Alliance did not even exist when the Shadow War come to a head?
*****
It didn't exist in name, but it existed in the fleet that fought both the Shadows and Vorlons.
How would White Stars and Sharlin cruisers be part of the Earth Alliance?
Seriously, I counted 1 EA ship out of about a dozen...
where is the music from its awesome and so is the video many thanks to you all for it
Great video. Great audio. But isn't this more of an ISA fleet vs Vorlon? I see an EA Omega. 2 Minbari Sharlin and scads of Whitestars.
This should be called Interstellar Alliance Fleet vs Vorlon Dreadnought, since whitestars belong to the alliance and Sharlin are Minbari
find it hard to believe that space battles would be fought so 2 dimensionally. In space there is no up or down...rules will change.
And the show did have that happen, hell the star fury has thruster pods to allow for 360 degree movement in space.

It's impossible to predict where your weapons fire will go in hyperspace thus it's too dangerous to try and fight there.
i totally thought u ment EA as the company for a moment and not Earth Alliance
That 'EA' does need a right spanking from the Vorlons
This honestly makes me want to go back and re-play the Freespace 2 mod "The Babylon Project"!
fantastic work here
Not to poke a hole in the video, but why are there Minbari and EA ships fighting alongside each other? They never did that, save for when B5 broke away from the EA - and that was only a small fraction of Minbari ships loyal to Delenn and her crusade, not the entire Minbari Federation as a whole.
Battle for Earth.
Cool, but the outcome seems a little unlikely. Maybe with a Warlock Class instead of the Omega Class.
Very very very good! Excellent battle scene.
fighting a vorlon ship is like a bunch of renaissnance galleons and maybe a WW1 gunboat vs. a WW1 dreadnought
personally i thought the tactics the EA fleet used were amateur, as the vorlon ship was like a dog only dangerous from the front, i'd have attacked all ships at once from the sides and rear, hence suffered no loses..good vid though

It's kind of nice to see Earth ships and Minbari ships on the same side in battle.
Did you mean the ISA? Earth alliance didn't have access to white stars and the minbari
Выше всяких похвал. Возможно это лучшее фан видео о В5!
Is it me, or does the sound effect for the laser beams sound like Star Trek phaser fire?
I thought the exact same thing, scrolled down to see comments, low and behold
That was great. I just stumbled upon this, and it was arranged just perfect. For a while I thought I was watching a clip from the show. XD
Really good. Next time try some extreme close ups showing occupants of various craft falling out into space after their vessels break apart.
Spectacularly impressive.
wonderful - looks right out of the show.
really loved it
can not like this fan film enough, BRILLIANT, just Brilliant
Did the giant Vorlon, get a lot smaller, as the battle continued?
I think you are meaning ISA Fleet, Interstellar Alliance, EA is Earth Alliance (only humans)
Sheridan became president of ISA as well as Entil'Zah (Ranger One) later in the series
Great video! looking forward to more!! I really miss B5!!
2:44 That Minibar cruiser was like "Hey WTF man?? I was just walking through!"
3:39 Another Minibar cruiser: "It`s for my bro! "
Wouldn't this be The Army of Light vs the Vorlon Dreadnought?
Great eye candy! Thank you!
loads more on the channel ;)

Let me fly right into the highly advanced laser cannons cross hairs
Nicely done, good quality
Cheers m8.
That was awesome! So fun to watch
Glad you enjoyed it!
Im glad you told us that this is fictitious.
Awesome and very well done!
just an observation
great work..but why did you use star trek music and phaser fire?
To annoy you.
You knows what funny the screen time in this 3d render of the vorlon dreadnaught is 3x longer than the original in 5 seasons and 5 films combined lol
I mean, this is fucking awesome but I think we are underestimating the Vorlon ship. Also.... I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING THIS! LOVE B5 GREATEST TV SHOW EVER

You go have fun turning off the sound in every space battle you see on TV ;) It's called entertainment.
jdlech billions in an evolutionary scale maybe but technologically they were a million/s of years ahead of us. Every source says they achieved jump point tech 1 million years ago.
Great work on this
Earth Force couldn't even take out Mimbari ships, what made them think that they can take on a Vorlon ship?
When did Minbar join the Earth Alliance? (great video tho)
Dude, can you do The Battle of the Line?
No Vorlons were harmed in the making of this video.
Babylon 5 is an amazing show. The fans are dedicated, hardcore people who adore it wholeheartedly, and fans who will make an animated short battle set in the show's universe are the top kind of awesome. Massive salute to you, sir. o7
I feel it would be churlish to criticize it excessively, so I'll just say that the general feel did not match up well with the actual show and it's probably because of the cinematography being vastly different, as well as the greater length of shots and of the scene. My personal opinion ;) and it definitely has a unique feel due to that, just not that authentic B5 feel I expected.
Thank you for this!
First 'big' one I did, still new to the software. My Gorash VII remake's a lot better. Cheers !
Ahhh, I did you an injustice. I went to see that one as well as a few other newer ones, and they're much more in line with the "feel" of the show. :) Very well done! I am thoroughly impressed.
You should try making an entire movie at some point ;) call it a summer project or something.
"Sorry, you don't have this content unlocked. Please purchase the "EA Defense Force" DLC to continue."
Your unedited EA comment was better ;p
Yeah, but it didn't match the message they actually give you as well. Besides, there's some extra subtext in the new one for anybody that played SWtoR.
... And this second comment got edited because my cat decided to run up and tap the send button.
Ilove this, thank you.
Very nice. I thought it was from the series until the lack of dialogue raised my suspision so very good work. Doesn't the Vorlon use a lightning instead of beam weapon?
Great work! Fantastic!
Fantastic work!!!
What is this..? Who are the Vorlons attacking & WHY??
Hmmm... So when did Minbar join the Earth Alliance? ;)
Looks like that whitestar kamakazi run was the blow that finished the vorlon ship and then after that it was just make sure it was dead.
Nicely done! Just been noodling around, rewatching old clips, and didn't realize this was a fan edit! So, kudos on quality, but would you explain WHY Minbari, White Star and EA destroyers would mixing it up with the Vorlons? I don't remember any plot twists that would account for that.
There is a scene in the series, where Sheridan's forces attack a Vorlon outpost to draw them into the fight. This could have been part of that...
Damn Capt. our ships are slow. Those Minbari cruisers flew right past us like we were standing still.
Jump gates opening near debris fields?
These are sound effects from Star Trek legacy 😂😂😂😂
doesnt vorlon dreadnoughts run with support ships and never alone?
I forgot how much the humam ships looked like trash piles compared to the alien ships.
I don't know - IMO the Omega class is a fine-looking vessel; the Warlock class much more so.
Nice but lacks dynamics otherwise good one but why that vorlon ship do almost nothing? as far as i remember shadow battle crab was equal with vorlon in battle strenght and yet battle crab would wipe flor with that EA minbari alliance fleet...
How about a B5 Vs SW?
Maybe one day, but I currently only have 2 SW objects.
Who were the 15 that did not like this?
Ignore The Negativity..... Best Fan Made Video Hands Down And Easily Rivals The Show Itself..... Please Keep Them Coming Like Part Two Of The Shadow War Full Feature Teaser And Others..... Thank You For Your Efforts And Hard Work........
Phaser sounds?
Awesome. Just goes to show, even having superior tech, and a bigger ship does not win over insurmountable odds. Even the Shadows knew to attack with a few ships of their own and then had smaller ships to distract and cause chaos.
