Not only did the badass get away, but he hand delivered a soviet jet to the US, got to pick anywhere he wanted to live in the States and got a $10,000 bounty for the plane.

And he got $100,000 (like $960,000 adjusted for inflation).
the US was producing so much equipment at the end of the war that it just ended up everywhere for a decades of surplus for pretty much any country that wanted it.
There's a long history of the glorious dictatorship of the proleteriat using tyrannical capitalist goods, particularly cars and trains. When the Soviet Union was first formed, they had no motor industry and most of their cars/trucks were bought from ford, particularly the TT trucks. During the war they were flooded with Willy's, and Studebaker Duces as well as more Fords. This is when they were first tooling up sufficient industry to build cars and they based a lot of subsequent design on those american made vehicles. This led to things like their own copy of the Timken two piece axle housing being used for decades after it was abandoned in the US. And later on a lot of their (and china) luxury/executive cars used motors bought from ford, and the GAZ Chaika is rather famously a direct copy of the 1955 Packard. This extended to locomotives too. There were a great deal of wartime exports to the soviet union, as well as peacetime purchases. This was ended in the late 40's rather famously with the "Little Joes" built by baldwin, which the government stopped the sale of, and they ended up being sold to the Milwaukee line. Which I'm glad for, as they're impressive things and a couple survive in good operational condition today.

@@brotschander Ok but let’s be honest who hasn’t attempted mass genocide at least once in their lives
@@iimaginewagons632 the west?
@@brotschander No i’m talking on an individual level. Attempting to kill a whole race of people is almost like a coming of age thing, everybody’s got to do it at some point and you come out of the experience knowing more about yourself and growing as a person.
Your storytelling is the reason I started watching your vids. It keeps getting better every video.
Some utubers are doing great things for those of us that benefit from what you do !
The Japanese holdouts in the island Atahu following the battle of Saipan would make a helluva animated story.
"The Airlines President was on Board."
What a _Coincidence!_
Yay new video! The animation is the best. Thanks man!
You stand in a class above "UA-camrs." I came late to the party but have been thoroughly enjoying catching up on all your entertaining stories. I hope you are around for a long time.
LOVE your videos. Just discovered your channel from the “diver records doom” video while on a nat geo binge and I’m just watching all your last moment videos. Good vibe throughout them, better recording than I could do, and a great voice for them. Keep them coming! 👍
Very interesting stories and amazing bravery on the part of these people. If anyone wants to know more about the Czechoslovak RAF pilots, the movie "Dark Blue World" delves into their lives during WW2.
My family's escape from Czechoslovakia was not so dramatic (standard Yugoslavian holiday then bugger off to a free country ploy), but my parents were also sentenced to X amount of years in prison. They were of course pardoned (as were all escapees) after the commie scum was driven out and we were given our citizenship back.
“Unless your a dirty commy”. 😂😂😂. That was great! 😆😂
So much respect to these chads.
And you for the great video.
i fucking love you qxir. youre one of my favorite youtubers. you make faaarrr better content than most others on this site. i love these stories along with last moments. PS the ending was epic
I wish that more people watched this guys videos as he has a great talent for storytelling.
I knew a guy who flew a Cuban military plane to Miami. Funny story, years later he bought a 20 ft. Boat at Miami boat show, goes out and breaks down. While floating around in his shiny new boat, he hears, then sees, then is passed by a group of Cubans in a homemade boat making their way to Miami.
Imagining the black cats music from cod waw playing during the story
It's just so sad that those people had to go through that. Humans in general should NOT have to escape their damn own country because of inhuman governments and conditions
Mr Qixr
You do great service on the tubes of you, rest assured good Sir your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are indeed greatly appreciated and welcomed.
From one merely mortal to another, Thank you!
I appreciate what you do and these stories deserve to live on. You make them fun to watch. I think that makes you much more than "just a You-Tuber".
Yes! I love these type of videos 🤩
I do feel bad for those who couldn't leave because their families were still back at home
There is something similar going on with North Korea where you cannot leave the country to work in labor camps unless you have a wife and children
I love this channel 🌞 how's about 2 uploads a week 🤟
When these videos come out they are perfect timing for when I'm fucked up and while i'm drunk as shit I can enjoy your videos thank you papa
you may be a totally insignificant youtuber who never fought nazis or commies, but brother, youre a damned awesome youtuber. probably the best in your genre.

best creator on youtube atm. Look forward to these videos greatly, big up Qxir.
Qxir is so effing funny, I love this channel bro! Keep more vids coming!
That last part of the video is gonna bring up some questions in the comments for sure.
JFK said it best "capitalism isn't perfect, but we never had to build a wall to our people IN"
you forgot a word in there
It's funny how many Americans seem to believe they're actually Irish or Italian.
Your videos are addictive bro. Well done. Keep up the great work!
All your war stories that are less about soldiers/battles and more about daily life are always eye opening, very talented story teller
Didnt realise you were based AF Qxir, "Dirty commies" Loving it, Major respect.
nah communism is cool, you just don’t realize that capitalism opresses the working class
@@chewstew8569 ahh yes, so cool, that’s why all these pilots who actively fought the nazis and should be seen as hero’s were forced into gulags. So epic.
