Not to be dramatic but A Tribe Called Quest is my favorite rap group of all time and this is my favorite ATCQ album PERIOD! It was most definitely needed during the very turbulent time in the world. And the fact this IS their final album and it wasn’t even considered to be nominated at the Grammys really spoke volumes as to how they will NEVER award true art. This was an immaculate album, it was an amazing send off for Phife and a beautiful but somber way for the group as a whole to take a bow, damn near brought me to tears. Long Live A Tribe Called Quest! ❤️🖤💚
Great to hear that Tribe is still inspiring new generations 30 years later. I love this album, and it feels somehow fitting that Phife's final contribution was to reignite the group with the motivation that you could feel dissipating at the end of the original run, as he became further and further removed from the unit. It's sad that it took his impending death to be that spark, but life and people being what they are, that might have been the only thing that could have done it.
