    I have never heard the term turning beads. You explain things so well. I'm excited to getting into working with seed beads to add to my metal jewelry.

    Can you please do a video for adding fringe to loom bead work using the warp threads?

    • @beadaholique

      That's a really good idea for a video, I'll pass your suggestion on to Kat. We don't really have anything like that, the nearest we have is a video on doing a ruffled beaded edge along the weft threads. That one might be a worth a look anyway though if you're studying different looming techniques: ua-cam.com/video/dEPNcPtpqw4/v-deo.html

    Hi, I have tried to make two different pairs of earrings using your other brick stitch fringe earring tutorial. Everything went well except for when I did my fringe the beads in my foundation layer kept breaking. I read somewhere that can happen if the beads are strung too tight.. the second pair I tried to weave very loosely and still came to the same problem upon beading the fringe. I am using size 11 seeds beads and fireline thread. Any suggestions? I desperately want to figure this out, but don't know anyone else who has ever done this before!

    If your adding fringe to something that may only have say 2 rows of stitching to add fringe to, would it be best to start out with all the cord you’ll need in one long go, including the stitching it’s added to?
    I want to use a metal ring/connector and just do a small area of stitching along the bottom of it and then drop fringe down off that, I’ll only be doing 2 rows, one to connect it to the ring and the 2nd row so I can go down though that with the fringe.
    This means I won’t have a large area to go through with any cord etc and I can’t seem to find a single tutorial on here that shows doing the fringe in this way and yet it’s a popular fringe earring technique. If anyone sees this and knows then please let me in on it either point me in the direction of a tutorial or someone who could help.
    Cheers and Stay Safe ❤️😷🇳🇿

      Yes it's fine to start out with all the cord you need. We're going to be doing a video that touches on this technique at the end of the month.

    Very good samples and instructions. Now I need to try something with fringe. What colors are in the first sample? Really like that color blend.

    Hi! I've just started beading on a bead loom, so I have looootsof questions. But the most important one is How did you finish the main piece? (the one you put the fringe on) Thanks!!!

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  7 років тому +2

      It's been awhile since we made this but I think the main piece may have just been a sample we made for the video and left unfinished. These days though we have two methods we like to use to finish loom work pieces. There's the slider clasp method, which has been hugely popular: ua-cam.com/video/u3a4SymwVGw/v-deo.html
      And then there's this method which we demonstrate with faux leather but which can be adapted to work with all sorts of materials: ua-cam.com/video/LT6UjeogiBY/v-deo.html

    Thank you can I just ask you one question you see the picture of these eagle earrings just passed the head where the brick stitch stops it is still the white color where the brown starts is that little white part just above the brown I think it is only two white beads is that part of the dangle part I made those brick stitch earrings loved them and loved making them. I just so much want to make the eagle earring so much

      To me it looks like those final two white beads are on the last row before the fringe starts. I think a bird pattern would work pretty well either way though, and you'll learn a lot about building brick stitch patterns by experimenting with what looks right to you.

    Hi, quick question. I have just started with seed beading. I've seen several peyote bracelets with a smaller seed bead border (or chain) up and down the sides of the bracelet. What is this called? Is there any way you could post a tutorial? Thank you. :)

      @beadaholique  8 років тому

      Hi, I think I have an idea of what you are describing and I would be happy to add it to our video to-do list. In a nutshell, you just use the smaller beads in place of the larger one in your pattern but you don't actually change your technique one bit. Here's another video which shows something similar - peyote beading with different sized beads but I will add your idea to our list as well. www.beadaholique.com/how-to-do-peyote-bead-weaving-with-various-sizes-of-beads.html

    Hi, I am wondering how you get the starter bead off when you are finished?

    • @collette6103

      Amy Gardner shows it.....look at finish off and take off the stopper bead and retread the needle.

    What is the difference with size B and size D thread?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  8 років тому

      Honestly there is such a little difference that I can not really tell them apart. Size B is slightly thinner at .2mm whereas size D is .3mm

      +Banana Anti-Illuminati Nope they're Miyuki delicas, which are glass so they're a little more difficult to melt :)

      We like to teach to techniques, not specific projects, but luckily we've already got a popular video on how to make brick stitch and fringe earrings that can show you the basic techniques used here. ua-cam.com/video/AU_k5lu0UHg/v-deo.html
      From there it's mostly a matter of picking the right bead shapes and colors to make your own twist on a beaded bird earring design. A big part of the visual appeal of that piece comes from the way it mixes different kinds of seed beads. There are some precision cut miyuki delicas making up the bird's head, what look like some tri-cut seed beads making up the ruffled browns of its chest, and a couple different types giving the tassles weight and shape.
