The Teacher was amazing. I hope you like it too. I enjoy your channel. I am 71 and not able to get out. I enjoy watching you shop. I miss shopping so much. Thank you for sharing.
E. Lynn Harris is a icon.. You need to read Invisible Life, Just As I Am and there's a third book in that series. I hate he passed away. Also I Recommend these black Authors if you've never read them Eric Jerome Dickey RIP his books are amazing. Carl Weber, Kimberly Lawson Roby, RM Johnson , and Michael Baisen all black Authors. I'm starting to go back and read more of their books from back in the day. I'm telling you E Lynn Harris amazing. His writing will live on . Thanks for sharing more books to recommend..always keeps me excited and gets me excited about reading
Definitely overwhelmed...in the best way lol and I had my first real "book snob" moment in BN last week. I was buying Magnolia Parks (yaaay) but the only two copies on the shelf had bent corners. I showed the woman at the CS desk and she went to the back and brought out multiple copies and let me pick which copy I wanted. I appreciated her for doing that. But I also felt like a brat...but also like this clearly happens often which is why she brought multiple copies for me to inspect lol
Don’t feel like a brat. It’s your money and you were willing to spend it on a good book. I ❤Magnolia Parks series. You may not like it at first but keep going. I devoured them. Just started the Into the Dark. Happy reading!
I read Hostile Takeover and I did like it. I just picked up the Teacher this weekend. I have no idea what it is about. I just saw it was a new FM book and since teaching used to be my profession I grabbed it.
This video served me new authors such as Marie Hobbs, Grey Huffington, Liana Cincotti. Indeed, there are so many books out there! When I was in my late teens I began reading general fiction like Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steel.
Steve Cavanagh books are great!! The book will keep you guessing until the end. Fifty Fifty is the 5th book in the Eddie Flynn series. You don’t have to read them in order (I started with the 4th book on accident), but just FYI!
17:54 yesssss there are so many many books to go around from new authors. there are also new authors debuting regularly. Mainly supporting Indies has been one of the best things I’ve done. I still support my mainstream. But I’m always looking for new authors to support, try, recommend, etc etc.
i gasped so loud omg i am so excited for you to a love song for ricki wilde!!! i read last week and it was so so so good!!! definitely might be my favorite book of the year 🥺🥰
I am currently reading A Love Song for Ricki Wilde. It is such a great read. It makes me miss NYC so much. I can't wait to read the Teacher. Your recommendations are great. I can't wait to hear what you think of A Long Song for Ricki Wilde after you read it.
oh my goodness, hearing you describe Hot For Teacher made me want to recommend you Role Playing by Cathy Yardley!!!! it's a "later in life" romance where the MCs are in their mid-late 40s, and it's sooooo amazing and sweet and has queer and vietnamese rep! it's got the soft, sunshine hero type which we loOoOoOve :')
I was watching the video last night and looked up the housemaid on kindle, literally finished it today couldn’t put the book down. It was my first thriller ever and gave me full body chills as I was reading, especially the ending!!! I love watching your videos because I read things I never would have, thank you so much!!!
Great haul. Gonna check out some of your recs. A lot are on KU, which is even better. I don't know how you're going to get on with the Ice Princess. It is much more mystery than suspense. Hope you enjoy all of your books.
I think you will enjoy E Lynn Harris and Eric Jerome Dickey. Wonderful urban writers. They have a lot of books to choice from. Looking forward to your review on their books
I’m hoping to get The Teacher over the weekend as I love her other books. Yes as readers we are spoilt for choice and we are so lucky to have so many wonderful and talented authors. Loved this book haul and now I have more books to add to my my TBR list 😀
I agree. There are so many good books that I am itching to read! I loved E. Lynn Harris books. His writing is so universal, amazing, and thought-provoking. You'll love his books because they just don't focus on one theme. Eric Jerome Dickey's books are great, too, especially his earlier writings. Such as "Friends and Lovers" and "Milk in my Coffee." Two more black authors and novels, that I would like to recommend are Trice Hickman's "Secret Indiscretions" and Mary B. Morrison's "Soul Mates Dissipate." Both of these authors are amazing and their writing styles are unique and will straw you into the stories. I hope that you enjoy these recs as well as your book haul. These are great books that I want to add ( from your book haul of course)to my TBR. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I’m purchasing A love song for Rickie Wilde today and absolutely loved Seven Days in June I hope you enjoy the book by Eric Jerome Dickey I fell back in love with reading because of him I own almost all of his books Another black author that is no longer with us Bebe Moore Campbell if you can find one of her books check her out You are a joy to watch
i can totally relate with wanting to read stuff from previous years AND new releases. but i don't read a ton each month like january i only read one so i gotta step my game up
I just finished Hostile Takeover. I enjoyed it. It has a suspense element to it. I loved Luca and Lyric as well. Not A Day Goes By is part of a series. There are 2 or 3 books before this one.
Omg I loved hostile takeover its a page turner glad you're gonna read it and you also got hot for teacher I loved that book. The book cover pulled me in it's cute and funny and I thought oh shawnaci might like this
3:30 I hateeee buying books from Amazon for that reason alone. It’s very likely that I will have to return something because they either pack damaged books or the get damaged in shipping due to lack of packing materials/poor packing. It’s soooo annnoying
When your bookstores don't have many english books and mostly the same popular ones, I order online most. It does suck to get them a bit bent up but it's how it is
I’m curious how to see your thoughts on Yhe Ice Princess. I tried that one several times and just couldn’t get thru it. I even got the audio on Libby to try to finish it and I failed. It’s a bummer because I have several other books in the series.
I was checking out Fifty Fifty and it says it’s #5 in the Eddie Flynn series. Any idea if they should be read in order? This one does sound really good.
I have Picking Daisies on a Sunday too! The cover is so gosh darn cute! I’ve started If only I had told her…it’s so surreal 🥹 Also, I’m still waiting for you to read Binding 13 and Divine Rivals!!! 😉💜😉

YES! E Lynn and EJD were THE MEN!!!!!!
You went way back to great ole skool authors with Baisden, Johnson, Dickey and Harris,
Yes I was going to suggest reading Invisible Life first. I believe it’s the first book and it introduces you to all the characters.
Wow! So many great recommendations! You’re the best for sharing these. Thank you!!

I’ve heard it’s so good!
I used to read a lot of Eric Jerome Dickey "back in the day" so sad that he is no longer with us.:(
I didn’t know that he died. 😢
I know right. I was shocked when I heard the news about him and e lynn harris
This video served me new authors such as Marie Hobbs, Grey Huffington, Liana Cincotti.

Ricki Wilde was exceptional. I’m going to read it again this summer it’s just a warm and fuzzy hug 🥰🥰

Another Black male author is Victor McGlothin. You got many comments recommending EJD, but I loved his earlier books. Happy reading!

Start from E. Lynn Harris first novel so you will be familiar with the characters. He was an amazing author.
Oo thank you!
@@ShawnaciSchroeder you're welcome
Humbly requesting a reading vlog for The Ice Princess! It’s one of my favorite thrillers!

This is my first time having this happen and I can see how it would be so frustrating if it happened all the time! Those books were beat upppp haha
I would love to have a second copy of The Teacher 😊
I ended up putting it into an empty free library! 🥰
When your bookstores don't have many english books and mostly the same popular ones, I order online most. It does suck to get them a bit bent up but it's how it is
I feel stressed with my physical TBR (60ish), I don’t know how to choose which book to read next or if I should start/continue a series😂.
Urban fiction romance is def top tier in regards to dark romance
It really is!
I’m sending love and a great year of books😂😂❤
Thank you!
@@ShawnaciSchroeder anytime☺️💜
I bought the book The Teacher can't wait to read it.
It looks so good!
Girl Eric dickey and E Lynn Harris and omar Tyree was the popular male black authors in the 90’s; terry McMillan was there competition
Ooo thanks for recommending!
I sometimes do not like reading the back of books because they tell everything and then there is not much to know in the book itself.
So true! I’m the same way sometimes
I’m curious how to see your thoughts on Yhe Ice Princess. I tried that one several times and just couldn’t get thru it. I even got the audio on Libby to try to finish it and I failed. It’s a bummer because I have several other books in the series.
Please read an Omar Tyree book! He has a new one dropping this year. He’s a black male author from Philly- from the Eric Jerome Dickey era❤
Ooo thanks for sharing!
While you can read not a day goes by you will have to read the series to get a better understanding of that story. The first book is invisible life
Thank you!! I’ll definitely grab that one!
I was checking out Fifty Fifty and it says it’s #5 in the Eddie Flynn series. Any idea if they should be read in order? This one does sound really good.
One of my friendships in the comments said that it can be read out of order! 🥰
Don't forget you can always return the bended-up books and receive better ones, Amazon is good for that.
I didn’t know this! Thank you!
I really enjoyed 13 by Steve Cavanagh and was just recommending it to my boyfriend. I’ll have to check out Fifty Fifty
I have Picking Daisies on a Sunday too! The cover is so gosh darn cute! I’ve started If only I had told her…it’s so surreal 🥹 Also, I’m still waiting for you to read Binding 13 and Divine Rivals!!! 😉💜😉

Do you only read physical copies? I know I go to the bookstore to figure out what's out there and buy on my Kindle haha
I read both physical copies and on my kindle! Depends on my mood!
I love your videos I am already getting hot for teacher it sounds good
I hope you love it!
i think 50 50 is part of a series. Can i read it out of order?
One of my friendships commented and said it can be read out of order!
Amazon truly doesn't care how they package books...two of the last ones I received were bent or messed up around the edges...
So wild! I’ve never had any bent books until now, but I’ll definitely be on the lookout now that I know they don’t always come in great condition!
E Lynn Harris and Eric Jerome
Dickey were both fabulous writers. Just prepare your mind for E Lynn Harris, I think it was semi autobiographical
E Lynn Harris excellent 😊😊😊😊
Can’t wait to dive in!
Books from Amazon are usually beat up when I get them.
Aw man! That’s the worst!
I'm starting hot for teacher today!
Hope you love it!
