Always here for your new content! Such a chill leaning environment. Future content request: Lab Reports (spreadsheets galore). Basically, what all do you track and what have you found to be best practices thus far in your lab as far as how often certain things are tracked like temp, humidity, types of inoculation, substate testing, etc. I know this is probably the most boring subject but one of the most important in running any kind of lab. Thanks in advance should you decide to gift us with this knowledge.

With all respect and my most honest, I have never seen anyone, at this so young, so passionate, professional (I mean know 200% of the time exactly what they are actually doing), and most of all happy about what u do for a living. After I graduate (Biochemistry), I never get to use my lab skill anywhere (I'm now working in a canned food company). I have always wanted to do farming/gardening, grow trees, grow my own food but also selling them (u know working but feel just like daily routine). I wish I could work somewhere like this, since I like lab work (I still miss them so much) and get to see things grow day by day. What you do is sooo cool! This is my dream job. Hope that one day I might get to this point (as rn I only grow cactus 😄)

This video is really interesting. I’m a new and very amateur mycologist. I’ve just started working with agar and sterilized grain.
Cordycepts was very helpful to me 20+ years ago when I was recovering from Pertussis.
I’ve just recently been putting my agar grown mycelium to sterilized, hydrated popcorn. Not much activity yet.
These jars of popcorn had no activity after 4 weeks from inoculation with a spore syringe, so I just tried inoculating some of them with mycelium from agar.
I’m wondering if my popcorn isn’t hydrated enough. But, I’m going to wait a week or so to see what happens.
And, I just got 25 pounds of organic rye berries to work with. Impossible to find locally, but easy on the internets.
Mostly just using mason jars so far.
Your sterile technique was really interesting.
I’m currently using oven tech for my sterile environment (thanks, Philly Golden Teacher).
But considering building a low cost laminar flow hood (thanks to Willy Myco) .
I’ve currently got a bunch of agar dishes going, with several different spores. And I’ve got some grain spawn going, from a couple of different cultures. And a couple of tubs colonizing.
I’m just trying several different things, to see what works for me.
This video has given me several new ideas. So thanks.😊
