Lovely to see Greg again on your channel John. James Bond fan here and whenever my plane to Japan has movies on board I always try to find and watch You Only Live Twice.
Stayed at k's house hostel here in 2012 and again in 2014. Good memories and great to see the area. Looks like it's changed a lot, all those cafes weren't there before, will have to take a look next time I'm in Tokyo. Thanks John
I’m sorry to have missed the livestream. I know both of you have produced stories about keeping the Japanese green tea industry alive. John have you visited the Obubu tea farm in Uji? I know Greg has done at least two videos about them.
Aiyah! Missed this one. 😢. Caught the replay and as usual loved your walking tours around Japan. Was a treat to see Greg as well. On your return visit to Hawaii Brandi and I will plan to take you to a fun and entertaining food coma Luau. Mahalo for having us join you. 🤙
Was good to see Greg while he was on stream! I enjoy your livestreams like this one and Kiyosumi-Shirakawa where you show us around less visited spots of Tokyo
When my daughter and I were there a year ago, just before Japan reopened, we stayed in Misuji, Taito City, not far from where you are. Same exact vibe. Everyday, working class, residential neighborhood. But I guess Misuji was historically known for textile manufacturing and sales, stuff like bags, belts, and such, so it was cool to see some of those old shops still going strong. Pure Tokyo. And we could still hike to Sumida or Akihabara from there.
Nice video overall, but did you just say A sa ku sa as individual sounds? Anyone who knows Japan knows that the u in ku is silent. Its pronounced Asaksa. Wow, I just came back from staying in Kuramae a couple of days ago and miss it already.
Good to see you both again. Greg makes interesting informative videos too👍🏻

Thanks for showing us this under the radar location. Looks like a great place to stay or even live in Tokyo.

20:35 I stayed at that APA and even had coffee at Nova on my last day in Tokyo. Both are great places
Your so right. It’s easy to get around.
Thanks for showing us around Kuramae..I will be staying at Toyoko inn in few weeks..
You seem to have a really tight community, watching some of the replays. Props for that!
My two favorite UA-camrs! Together again! ❤❤❤❤
Wow, a collaboration with Greg. Looking forward to this video
The Brooklyn Roasting Company is actually a coffee roaster from Brooklyn. So it’s not a local Kuramae roaster just naming their company Brooklyn.

I stayed in Asakusabashi few years ago, it was also very nice place, and its next to Kuramae.2 stops frpm Asakusa.
love the neighborhood content
I was on a tour here in Tokyo for 8 hours. Sorry I missed it.
Those burger prices were extreme ! Travelling by yourself is the only way to go 👍 You cant argue with anyone but yourself 🤭
It’s on par, meat is pretty expensive here and with inflation the last 6-9 months, everything is up about 30% it seems.
Make more at home these days.
John, what is special with Brooklyn? I have never been to NYC.
Thank you very for sharing your video with us.
Greg's channel, Life Where I'm From, is super interesting, insightful, and has a quirky humor.
I am glad I went to the Kawagoe festival yesterday...rainy day today
12:40 Classic "Fraaaans" 😁
Wonderful!✌️
What’s the temperature there today? Is this the type of weather to expect when I come next fall 2024.
Good to see Greg from life where I'm from on only in japan what's happening in spring ?😅
"Peace out!" hahah

Hi John, how's Apa hotel in Kuramae? We are staying in Yamamote Otsuka, in November. Which area would you think is much better?
Thank you in advance.
I stayed in the Hostel Inn in may, nice but small

Hi John! Is there any spot to sit down and enjoy the view by the Sumida-gawa?
Sure, loads of cafe - def call ahead though. The craft beer place by Eitai Bridge is closed though. More around Asakusabashi and Kuramae.
@@onlyinjapanGO Thanks for the info, John. Hope I can visit JPN again next year and explore this side of the city.
