I live in New Bern and pass through there when I take 64 on my way to visit the in-laws just outside of Charlotte. Looks like an awesome place to stop and try a ride. Just bought a beginner bike, Raleigh Talus 4. I wonder how it would hold up there.
Hey Uwharrie Forest is a great place to ride when you have some time to explore the trails. The Talus 4 should get you through most of the trails. Definitely avoid any kind of jumps and fast, steep downhill trails on that bike. It's built more for gravel trails and I think the endless roots and rocks would be unpleasant to ride on a bike like the Talus. The good news is, you've got a bike and you're riding!! That's exactly how I got back out on the trails myself, I bought an inexpensive bike and rode everyday. Build your endurance and learn some trail skills. Thanks for taking time to comment. If your in the Raleigh area give me a shout and we can hit some of my local trails.
@@SAMTB Thank you for the quick response . HItting up some trails in Maine in a couple weeks .I know stock tires wont last . I'm just getting back into riding . I'm sure ill be investing in a full suspension in the near future . Ill check out the nobby nics if the price is right and i can get them in fairly quickly.
That bike looks super fast. I have the fantom 29 and im planning to put nobby nic for city and flowy trail only 😊
What brand of stem and handlebars did you change to? I recently purchased this model and would like to upgrade. Thanks!

what tire width did you go with ? I was thinking of going 2.3 continental mountain king . will they fit the stock configuration ?
Seth Milton I went with the Schwalbe Nobby Nics 29x2.35. Really good tire
Seth Milton the 2.35’s fit with room to spare
