Ok, for beginners (like me ^^) 3ds max is complicated like hell but in this video it looked so easy. Awesome tutorial, many different tools, comment as clear as it is possible. Yea, release more stuff :)
This tutorial is really grate! But i Have one problem with scaling. All of a sudden when I was trying to make the base for the lock my scaling tool stared compensating to keep the same areal of the face. When I'm scaling one direction smaller the other direction gets bigger. How do I stop that?
Also currently having the issue where collapsing leaves one triangle open. On the rivet or whatever you call it, when you scale it down and then collapse it.
i ran into a problem where going into the hierarchy and aligning the pivot to world would stretch the geometry for the bolts, i have run into this problem before on other modeling projects, resetting the xform fixed the issue, thought this would be helpful for anyone else who may have run into the same issue
at 5:05 you used CTRL + Back Space to remove the edges but what is the difference between just using the back space to remove them? I did it both ways and the result seems the same.
"I'm gonna choose 'element', which, you know, is what we talked about before." ??? Also, when you centered the bolts' pivot using the alignment icon in the menu bar, it seemed to be in the same place you later manually placed it. Why the redundancy? Why wouldn't symmetry work unless you did it in this more roundabout way? Bro, you lost me on this. The rest of the tute's been great thus far.
THANKS BROTHER
Really clear tutorial so far! I'm glad you don't cover your small mistakes, it helped me learn,

Great Tutorial, For tiny parts I need to place on the objects, I use object paint, really quick and accurate instead of the positioning and rotating.

Sorry for comenting on an old question. Just using backspace removes only the lines but using CTRL + backspace removes the lines and the vertices.
Is this chest mainly for props?
Crtl + Alt + Z doesn't work for me, the edges don't collapse together

ctrl+alt+c doesn't collapse all sides ,one side remain as it is ,any idea why ?
