Is the nicest cruise port area in the Caribbean? - ua-cam.com/video/fQk2ednw-fE/v-deo.html
Nope, plenty of other port areas that are far better than most in the Caribbean. Off the top of my head Rhodes would be a contender.
It really doesn’t matter how you are traveling! It’s a no brainer! ALWAYS KEEP YOUR MEDICATIONS IN YOUR CARRY-ON!!!
Actually all meds valuables and important documents should be in your personal item as your carry on could be gate checked??
For sure! If I check bags, it's not things that are urgent. But we'll be doing carryon for our next flight.
@@paulreiche2746 Yep - Passport should SECURED on your person or in the hand of the official/FA you handed it to. I do a lot of travel and there have been MANY cases I have found passports on the floor. They are very thin and easy to drop (much less be lost with checked luggage). I have a passport cover I use just to give a small amount of heft and girth to mine.
Well if my luggage gets lost it's a nightmare. No amount of money would compensate me on a cruise ship. I'm 6'4 275 pounds size 16 shoes. Good luck getting me in anything that they sell on board.
After all of these years, the people of Nassau still haven't figured out that it is their aggressive sales tactics that keep people on the ships. If they want more people to get off of the ships and do some shopping, then need to stop being so aggressive. Has anyone mentioned that to them yet?🙄
Sooooo true!!!!!
Medications, one set of clothing and a bathing suit should always be with you on a carry on or backpack. 1 set of clothing, just in case the luggage is delivered late to your cabin .
OR if your luggage gets dumped into the ocean! Glad she was compensated but silence by Celebrity for the first 3 days is not impressive!
Your advice still shines 👍👌👍👌
@@dianem1952 To be fair, they probably thought she'd have her travel insurance on the case. (j/k, someone who doesn't know enough to not put their meds in checked bags probably has no clue about the importance of travel insurance.)
it's a swimming costume, not a bathing suit.
Add diapers- was on a trip with an infant and the airline lost the 1 suitcase with all the diapers. Some kind family had their family member bring us a large pack of diapers to the airport before we went to the cruise terminal, but that could have been a major issue.
@@dianem1952one of the challenges - the airline said they gave it to the cruiseline; the cruiseline took a while to admit fault.
I’m glad they were able to give her the medicine she needed
"Shout out Ludicrous" always makes me laugh. It never gets old!
Same here. I wait for it every video.
😂
It should only end when Ludacris acknowledges his shout outs.
Years ago, on a Premier Cruise Ship (Big Red Boat) out of Port Canaveral, my husband and I were watching people board ship. We also witnessed luggage being brought on board and the entire "container" being brought on board went into the water. You could see it happening, almost in slow motion, as it started leaning when the forklift (or whatever equipment was used) was bringing it on board. I have no idea what kind of compensation was given but it wasn't just a few pieces of luggage, it was many!!!!
A couple of years ago, our luggage on Oasis couldn't be found upon disembarkation. I was finally asked to complete a form of everything that was in the luggage!!!!!! As I was trying to remember everything, the luggage was found. It taught me to have a couple of printouts of EVERYTHING that I carry. I keep a list of clothes from each cruise and just "tweak" it as needed. If it ever happens again, I'll just hand them the list.
My friend and her husband’s luggage went into the water as the ship was being unloaded. The cruise line did not tell her. It was transferred to the airport as part of her vacation package. When she got home and opened the luggage everything was soaked, photos purchased on board were stuck together, tuxedo ruined, white cocktail dress was stained by other items in the suitcase. Luckily she is an attorney and after a lot of dialogue she was reimbursed for the damages.
Once, one of our bags disappeared and I was in trouble. Against my wife's wishes we'd put her childhood stuffed animal in the missing checked bag. I was harangued for several hours, but on our way back from dinner we noticed the bag next to another cabin's door way down the hall! Saved! Now we use those baggage locators!
Her TikTok had me almost in tears! You could just feel her despair!
Considering my large checked bag is $310.00 in todays prices, cost of replacing clothing and possible shoes worst, not having clean under garments while on board 1400 in on board credits does not seem to be even close enough.
The compensation for lost luggage, at first thought, seemed fair. But then I realized buying clothes on a ship she could blow thorough $1,000 on just one outfit. They really should also have given her a couple of changes of clothes from the ship store and toiletries on top of everything you listed.
I'm thinking the credit was given with the implication that the "change of clothes" wouldn't be a formal night gown. 😁
@@rockinmel1 have you seen the prices of clothing on a cruise? Not to mention limited choices and limited sizes.
Or at least let her cash out before the end of the cruise so she can spend it in port and likely get a little more for her money.
@@lisaslattery8661and the kind of clothes often 😳
If someone fished it out then the clothes would be washable surely? It’s other items that would be irreplaceable once wet but I’d be wanting my clothes back. I couldn’t deal with the thought of having to buy it all again 😂
Never put anything you are attached to in a checked bag and always have 2-3 days of clothes in a carryon.
I Always carry or wear anything however silly I look that I don't want to lose. I've lost lots on air flights and met many on ships that have had luggage go missing at airports.
I once travelled the world wearing a full length sequined belly dancing outfit. Despite incredulous looks at airports and it's weight, .
If u want to see it again wear or carry it.
I just don't check bags unless it's over a week. Pack light, you never use half of what you take anyway.
On one NCL cruise, my luggage had not arrived hours after we left port. So, I took a stroll all around my deck and found my two suitcases alone at the other end of the deck, correctly tagged but nevertheless in the wrong place and undelivered. Problem solved though.
Thank you Tony.
Appreciate your views on the news all beautifully served up for our faces.
It would take a lot of drinks to make up for my lost underpants.
corollary - how many drinks does it take to lose your pants!
A prime Tequila is the number one underpants remover
By then you wouldn’t be wearing any. Or probably any trousers either.
Commando the whole trip😂😂
Great hair cut! Loving the shows and your personality. Tell Mrs Jenny B hello 👋. Thank you for showing us your Legos and your office space. Makes us all feel a part. Lol a part of your family.
Oceania lost one of my bags. I'm an amputee and this bag holds my backup/shower leg. I'm still waiting for communication as it happened July 6, 24.
I hope no one suggests that you should have put your backup leg in your carry-on bag! Good luck getting this settled!
Would it be in poor taste to suggest that if you sued, you wouldn't have a lef to stand on?
@@danielroach5415 Yes, it would. :(
@@danielroach5415 Ableist much? That's not even remotely funny.
I enjoy your singing voice and Ludacris shout outs, keep doing your thing Tony!
What about clothes, makeup, toiletries, etc. for the cruise? One pair of pants doesn't cut it for a whole cruise. She shouldn't have to use her OBC for the basics.
My basics are in my carry-on. Checked bag is for what extras.
@julieb7882 I do, too. But I only take enough for 1 day in my carry-on, not enough for 14 days.
The La Lido Loco studio is impressive. Good job!
You have the SWEETEST community, Tony. I love reading the joy they feel for you, how you are closer to "friend" than content creator, you always keep things clean and fair...I may never cruise, but if I did, it would be nice to run into you so I get could up-to-the-minute news, FOR MY FACE:) Enjoy your next cruise, Sir. I have great respect for you.
Thanks for the studio tour. Love the "suitcase swimming with the fishes" visual aid, but how awful for the suitcase owner. Glad the pain and aggravation of her loss was at least somewhat compensated by Celebrity. This is one cruise she'll definitely remember...
On our last cruise 12/23 out of Miami on Royal, my large suitcase didn't arrive at our cabin. Later in the day, the cabin attendant saw me and told me there was a problem with the item. Asked me to wait, and he would be right back. One of the casters had been torn off, taking the bottom corner with it. You could see someone tried to tape it back on. I was asked to remove all of the items from the case. In 30min. he returned with a new suitcase still in plastic. Now this is the biggest suitcase you can buy. We were out for 7 nights. As the cabin Stuard was apologizing, I said WOW!. Chook hands and smiled, saying "THANKYOU" . Gave him my customary precruise tip $$/night. The best service we ever had. PS: The blatant vandalism I've seen on the Cruise Ships is appalling. You have a problem, go look in a mirror, you'll see the problem. Just relax and be happy.
My sister's luggage was dropped into the water while being loaded into the ship. She was compensated and given a voucher to get some clothes on board.
Heck no 😅I'd be furious
@freejyou she was past upset, but she calmed down by the sail-a- way, and we had a great time.
@@brenl8676 Bless her Lawd! She's a strong woman. The way I would have acted a fool over my good Sunday wigs going down under 😅
@freejyou We always take a change of clothes, a pair of comfortable sandals, a couple of days of underwear, medication, and a small first aid kit in our carryon. Her first cruise was a real disaster, so having a suitcase full of wet, faded, shrunken clothes was no big deal. The ship hit the dock in Cozumel and turned her ocean view into a balcony.
Looking good Tony! Loved the BTS tour! Thank you for another great video!
For that compensation they can lose my luggage every trip....😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the tour of the office/studio.
It's also wise for a travelling couple to mingle their clothes in each other's checked luggage. That way, if one of the pieces gets lost, both folks have at least SOME clothes to wear until the other luggage shows up.
If BOTH luggage pieces vanish, which DID happen to a family on one of our cruises, you're S.O.L. Carnival took care of them onboard and provided clothes, and sent a photo of the missing luggage to every cabin. They finally showed up...on the last morning of the cruise. :o
Thank you for the studio tour.
I always carry my medication with me in my carry on bag and some extra clothes and all my essentials too. Unexpected things happen.
Thank you for the amount of videos you produce. Enjoy them all.
You cleaned up NICE! Enjoy your trip. Can't wait to hear your experience.
Took them long enough to compensate that young lady. But glad she’s being taken care of. Thanks Tony!!
your office looks great tony, thanks for showing us around :)
Loved the tour!
I am off to FLL soon to board Enchanted tomorrow! Stoked!
Thanks for the tour.
Got the haircut taken care of and ready for your cruise. Have fun with Mike. Looking forwforward to the content y’all will create.
That's sad regarding Nassau. When we went there we went to the national park and stopped at several stores like the chocolate shop (amazing place!) and a souvenir shop owned by a 7th generation man. Was interesting to hear his story! Also got scammed with bracelets 😂😂
I met an older woman on Princess whose luggage was lost. (She was apologizing for her casual outfit on formal night). She was given OBC, but she was too big to be able to buy anything on board. And what about undergarments?
Have a GREAT cruise!
Ah, so cruise lines assume that only small-medium sized people need or want to buy clothing? Sounds like a clothing store we have here - the men's clothing goes up to some generous plus sizes, but the women's clothing assumes that only skinny women would shop there. Not to mention a women's t-shirt will be much more expensive than a men's t-shirt even though they're both the same design and fabric.
@@Shan_Dalamani They will have some plus sizes but mostly casual style.
@@donnaschuepbach3830 Enough of a range of sizes? There's not a lot of difference between L and XL.
@@Shan_Dalamani1. If men’s is same design but cheaper, buy men’s. 3. Am majorly fluffy, have learned to appreciate men’s shirts and trousers. Always carry on several days underwear and remember it is washable. So for most 2 sets are enough. One to wear and one to wash.
@@Shan_DalamaniNow XL isn’t plus size, it’s just middling. Not just because people are larger, but most clothing is made in Asia. They on average are smaller than Americans and Europeans. Their 2XLs are really M to L here. Just match them up new and unwashed.
Very cool to see your set! :)
The thought of losing my luggage is a nightmare. The amount of the compensation isn’t as much of an issue as the problem of finding things to fit me in the shops. I do try to bring a few extras in my carryon just in case something should happen (I like to be prepared), but I know the gift shops aren’t really geared towards plus-sized people.
Office is So neat and tidy, keep up the good work
Enjoyed the BTS tour...love your office!
I watched an entire container of luggage fall into the water on a disembarking Princess cruise in March 2021 in LA. They salvaged some of the hard case luggage but the soft case luggage was a goner!!!
Happy Friyay! Sounds like Lindsey got hooked up! I'd love to go on a shopping spree on vacay for outfits. I'm willing to bet the awesome person in Amsterdam that contacted her would be happy to send it to her if it's salvageable. Enjoy your cruise!!
I learned my lesson years ago. We sat on lido deck eating and watched as 2 full luggage racks went into the water! Have no idea if they got them back. Also someone on a cruise with us, had their luggage "lost" until last day of cruise. I never ever ever check my luggage. I also order lot of water to my room and bring food on board. Comes from being stranded on the Splendor in 2010 with
very little food and water on board.
Still had a great time.
Your office looks great! Your timing was perfect too because I saw the cutest Lego block coffee table that someone posted on TikTok last night and I immediately thought of you! 😮 It is really cute and would match your space perfectly!
great studio tour!!!!
Happy Friday
Tony, regarding haircuts. While working my barber and I agreed that the only two people who’d know I got a haircut was me and him. Went every 2 weeks. Now that I’m retired I found another “old” barber who gives me a haircut every 4 weeks. Still trying to look presentable in old age! Love your show.
Tony, although you do not usually report on Viking cruises, my husband and I are ending our 15 days Viking Mississippi River Cruise tomorrow in Nashville. We never made it up to St. Paul where we were supposed to end. Went to Paducah Kentucky 3 times and are in Nashville. Lots of changes in itinerary. To their credit we are getting a 50% future credit.
Did you hit the quilt museum?
I think that’s great compensation for the young lady. Matter of fact, perhaps my luggage can be lost! 😂
I think they should give her a free bathing suit and at least 2 outfits, and basic toiletries (tooth brush, toothpaste, hairbrush, sunblock,) . esp if 5+day cruise. Because, while 1K sounds like a lot, it's not if you're spending half of it in their overpriced on board shops.
thanks for sharing your video with us and in Nassar when we were there, we walked around by that amphitheater and we always thought they make a great pool there or lazy river because there’s still a lot of land and I get more people in there to stay around there well thanks again for your video. Take care and tell Jenny I said hi.💖🛳️🥰⚓️
Hey Big T, great to see, or not see, the cap! Well done! 👍
Shame that she had to broadcast her situation to get the cruise line to step up.
Loved the studio tour 🤓
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Awesome set 👍👍👍👍
I would definitely use the water park in Nassau! Always carry your medication in your carryon bag!
Looking good Tony!
Bring the Allure to homeport in PR, we will be happy to welcome it.
Off topic but I saw you at Costco recently and thought of saying hello, but decided to respect your privacy. Love your videos :)
It happens more than they report, suitcases going into the water while being loaded. I never ever pack anything that I need or can't replace in a checked bag and when I pack my suitcase, everything is in plastic vacuum bags to protect it from rain or being in the water. Thankfully, I have not had the nightmare of dunked or lost luggage yet.
Love your video studio!
Been watching for last few weeks, and really enjoy your style and antics, especially the "in your face" makes me chuckle... thanks
just curious what the story behind the Ludicrous shoutouts is
Thanks for the great content and presentation
I thought of you when the news talked about they having the Lego sale in Nashville this weekend
Liked the suitcase with the fishes graphic. Well done.
I remember a few months ago you were moving but when your set didn’t change I totally forgot about it. Now that you showed us the studio it makes sense to me lol
As my dad would say “Haircut…is that what you call it?”
I have one of those and the "poking" thing is a pen...similar to a spacenpen.
Luggage. This is why we say to pack all meds and a change of clothes in your carry on. Nightmare for me being larger size, nothing in ship store would fit Ouch
Thanks for the news about our next world cruise !
I could definitely do 100 days on a partial world cruise. We sailed on Viking Expedition Polaris for 42 days from Ushuaia to Antarctica then up the west coast of South America, through the canal to Ft. Lauderdale.
Were there really rough seas at all?
That is why you always give tips to the luggage handlers in the port.
Unrelated, I picked up the Popeye Boston Scally. Love it #scallylife
Related, keep up the great work we watch you everyday. Taking my family on the Carnival Vista on July 27. Love cruising!
Thank you, Tony! That Holland America pole to pole cruise sounds amazing. Maybe when I retire in six years... : )
In a different reality, that pole-to-pole cruise looks very appealing. Penguins FTW.
100 days absolutely! Very jealous of the Royal carribean world cruise 274 days. When I win the lottery, I am all in.
Waterparks aren't my thing (currently working at one as a 2nd job), but I am glad that Nassau is going to make some money. I hope it pays off for them.
Lost luggage is one of my top travel/cruise nightmares. Everything important is kept with me at all times when I travel. Not sure how much compensation would be enough, but if that woman is satisfied with what she received, that's what matters.
LOL, after losing the luggage they lost her only remaining pair of pants in the laundry. Yeah, you can't make that up!!!
Toga Party!
Love your vids as always. I wonder if maybe blackburn international sounded important in that article because it was written based on a press release by them? Thats my guess.
We were told my members of the entertainment crew on Celebrity last month, that Celebrity is no longer hiring multi-talent staff because of cost. Now the singers will just sing, and the dancers will just dance. No more cross-over talent staff.
Allure and Brilliance are our favorite ships. Great crews on both...
Looking extra sharp today Tony! 😎 I would be so upset if my luggage got dropped in the water! 😳 My clothes for cruising have been very carefully sourced over some years, bought on sale (I’m quite the shopper! 😁), and I am an unusual size. (I’m very little.) So buying stuff on board that fits and I like would be very tricky for the money given. $1000 would probably not cover the cost of replacing my clothes I bring on a cruise btw, especially if I had to pay full price to buy them.
Good Afternoon Tony
I spent 84 days in the Baltic and it still wasn’t long enough!
Too long for me to be away from family and friends so over 21 days is running close to being too long.
Have a nice weekend, enjoy your Legos, much love to Jenny!
Medications--I photograph all the RX prescription labels on my pill bottles so that I can verify every med I must take.
Love that you talked about the "popular artists" of the new production shows on HAL...Fleetwood Mac, and Carol King. You do realize that those are/were "popular artists" of those of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s. Guess that really says something about the demographics of HAL cruise lines. At 68 I would be able to sing along with those songs easily.😊
Before you even mentioned it, the first thing I noticed. Great haircut .
LOL, there are just asany seniors on the Gulf coast as there are on the East side. I think Celebrity compensated her quite well. I hope she was able to enjoy her cruise.
Well that's the first time that has happened . . . I was the 1st to like your video, Tony!!
I’ll be on Symphony next Friday, the 7/19-7/26. I’m so ready. Love cruising and yes I could do 100 days on cruise ship as long as it one of my favorite ships. Unfortunately I can’t afford it.
That's great news for HAL. We're on a legendary cruise starting in November, 2024 RT FLL to Egypt.
Good move on the hair Tony!👏 Looks great 👍
My luggage has been lost twice. The first time it happened I flew to Vancouver, BC from Tucson, AZ and my bags went to Los Angeles. The ship was heading to L.A. then on to Hawaii once it left Vancouver. Luckily, the port agent went to the airport and I had my luggage by the time we sailed from L.A. So, I was without my bags for three days.
The second time it happened, I was flying from Tucson to Heathrow by way of Phoenix. No luggage on arrival at Heathrow. I took the coach directly to Southampton and spent the afternoon and evening shopping! (always make sure the credit card company knows when you are traveling overseas so your cards don't get blocked!) This was a 47 day repositioning cruise from Southampton to Sydney, Australia. My luggage finally caught up with me in Dubai, three weeks into the cruise.
I make sure to carry my medications, all important paperwork, and valuables in my carry-on. I also have a clean shirt and two days worth of underwear in there also!
