    Hi Mark. Heartbreaking! I was reading the statistics the other day with regards to the homeless in Los Angeles and it’s surrounding towns. It is the highest number in the U.S. in 2017 and has continued to grow. It is unimaginable that the Uber wealthy and the most vulnerable populations live in the same areas. It is obscene and shocking that governments and bureaucrats cannot find solutions. They should be forced to walk in the shoes of their vulnerable population for a week, before taking an office to govern.

    • @nickadams2270
      @nickadams2270 5 років тому

      What if relocation was an option? Especially if housing is part of the deal? Not talking about what is but what could be.. Looking for real world solutions not blaming anyone... If housing is the main issue maybe we could find creative ways to solve this problem... Mark I just can't expect that in zip codes with some of the highest property values in the nation we could reasonably find enough housing to accommodate everyone in these areas who are homeless... Affordability is a realistic factor in solving these problems and can not be dismissed... I do believe that the government has a responsibility as well as all of us individually to care for "the least of these".. Just bouncing stuff off from the wall to see what sticks... Personally I have been involved with helping the homeless for many years and at many levels.. I just have to wonder if we are trying to reinvent the wheel here.. I would love to sit down and talk some time face to face.. As a nation and a people we need to have these discussions..

    I feel bad for him. This guy is not a criminal and not drugged up. Just someone in an unfortunate situation. The only solution is long term permanent housing for the homeless and low income individuals which I support 100%. However the reason the sweeps happen is because in many areas the homeless take over. They also accumulate lots of trash and junk. The residents and the city officials don’t like that so they harass those people. I’ve seen Venice, Santa Monica, and all over LA become homeless camps with garbage everywhere. I don’t think law enforcement is going to stop anytime soon because the majority of the voting, tax paying residents and businesses support the sweeps and the harassment of the homeless. Also this guy talks about not having enough money to take the bus. He doesn’t need it. Metro bus drivers allow the homeless to ride without paying the fare. It happens all the time. I know I take the bus daily.

    These are the reasons we will be judged by God. While millionaires and billionaires flaunt their wealth with mansions, expensive cars, $1000 dollar shoes and pocketbooks, plastic surgery, jets, etc, etc, etc, and could use their wealth to help a homeless man, woman, or family, yet sit and do nothing. While Congress lives in mansions, but don't make laws to help the homeless, there lies the sin. This is why god said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to make it to heaven. We were put here to love one another and help our neighbors in their time of need. Greed has turned us into puffed up, vain, self serving monsters.
