I've have this pedal and for the last 5 years I still haven't found anything better. Awesome pedal for Jimmy page type tone. I have a xotic Ep booster I place before it set at 9 o'clock just tone bliss
Pete you sold me on this pedal 6 years ago. I finally found a used one local. It was a steal! I'm running it in front of my Pod XT Live using the Bassman model. I got the clean to sound as close as I could to your demo kicked it on & wow, this thing sounds killer! It also sounds great with the VOX model they have. Thanks for the great info. Darrall
Can i just say That , that was the best Demo i have ever heard for any gear .PERIOD !!! cool looking room , great sound quality , great visuals , and very consise and to the point ,,No FAFFING around ,,,Well done mate .
Pete, thanks for demoing this pedal - after watching it I went out and picked it up and it does everything I hoped it would do through the clean channel of my Fender Blues Delux amp. This box just makes the Fender amp so versatile.
Dude, Pete... you're my friggin' hero. You're a huge inspiration. I hate to be "that guy," but I love all your demos. You really know how to apply all of the things in a demo that are on all of our minds. Thanks, man!
@sessionfan I love the pedal, I think it'd work well in your application. you have to set the knobs somewhat unconventionally, it has lots of gain and output (I run level on 4, gain 1 on 2, gain 2 on 4 and the tone on half or below a bit usually)
Fantastic pedal. I use it in front of my 2203 that is set to a slight crunch, and the pedal just sends the amp into total singing saturation. I love using in front of a Marshall, because that way, you can have the amp sounding like it's cooking on 11 at any volume.
Dare I say?...Perfect demo. The tone is perfect. The playing is spot on...as is the explaination of how it works. Also, the pedalboard is perfect. Everything you need is right there in a relatively small space. And it's so nicely laid out and clean. It even satisfies my pedalboard OCD. I may just have to purchase a Plexitone to replace my main overdrive (which is, ironically, an OCD). Very nice.
I bought this pedal in 2020. I must say that for the price I paid and the time it took to get it, I was disappointed that it did not come with a cord. I bought what I thought was the right cord and believe I fried the darn thing.
This dude is so cool and laid back honestly if i could have a 1/16th of his talent i would feel great Please keep up the youtube content pete I enjoy your playing a lot also a fellow canadian. we rock baby!
Great demo! Thanks to your demo I ended up getting one and I am super pleased!!! possibilities are endless...both as a tube screamer type boost or just an all around distortion pedal. I am really impressed. Actually sounds better than most amps out there!!!
@Prototype1023 aww thanks- I went to GIT and took private lessons on and off. I also taught myself quite a bit, through videos, books, transcribing songs etc
I've owned tons of OD pedals including Xotics, Wamplers and the new Bogners - Blue and Red. Bought this and immediately found the sound I've been searching for. What Pete said about the low end holding together is so true. It's tight without feeling compressed. Bright note separation without sounding overly jangley or shrill. Love this pedal. One limitation I found is it sounds better on EL34 or 6L6 type amps. My EL84 amps didn't play well with this. Seemed like it was crushing the front end.
@JamiesHereNow I just picked up a Carl Martin PlexiTone and am using it in front of an AC15C1. Sounds great! The Vox has some nice clean and slight breakup tones. The PlexiTone takes it into rock and hard rock territory, and sounds great doing it. Another pedal to consider is the Wampler Pinnacle. It can sound a bit more modern than the PlexiTone. Just depends on what you prefer. Both are the best distortion pedals I've ever had.
AARRHHH!! Pete! You are the best. I keep coming back to this demo. I am getting a Plexitone in a couple of days as you really have blown me away. I really look forward to try this out. Thanks again Pete for the help and inspiration and hope to meet you if you ever come and do some workshops/masterclasses in the UK. Charles :)
Hey Pete! I was in the market for a pedal and as soon as I heard that you had one and raved about it on another website before this video, I bought one based just on that. I'll be sending you the bill by the way! :) Great demo and great playing as always!
Yeah Pete Awesome dude. I really love you playing at the end on this one. Very inspiring! As always super nice and professional. Thanks man your the real deal.
Excellent demo Pete. I just bought a PlexiTone on Ebay because of this. Gonna see what kind of magic I can do to my Twin with it. And maybe even try it on the plexi channel of my XTC Classic to see what I can do there to kick it up a notch. Your stuff is always great. KUDOS!!!
@jem7772 Hiya, the verb you speak of on the little evh section I added in Logic- just like the real deal, it's "studio reverb". But there's no reverb on any other part of the video. Also the Riot video is the same, what you hear is what you get on that one. You just gotta turn the knobs right and mic the amp correctly!
Pete, Man that thing sounds great. Question for ya, I have a Marshall Class 5 which I love but want to really kick it into gear and get these tones. I assume if I put this pedal on the amp set just a little dirty I can nail these tones in spades? Cause unless I dime my class 5 (loud as shit for 5 watts) I need a pedal to get me there...
Hi Pete, love all your vids.. great playing there. Question, I actually am seriously considering going the route of a clean amp head with my gain and other effects coming from the pedal board. Do you have any recommendations on a good amp head for just clean playing. I cant figure out why fender does not make any heads anymore.. unless I am missing something?? Their supersonic is like 1700.00 plus.. but that has gain channels and such and not what I am looking for.
Hey Pete, thanks for the great demo. This made me finally order this after most demos I listened to did not give me a good true sound of the pedal. Mike
What a great sounding pedal, what a great sounding guitar, what a great sounding amp, what a great sounding mic, AMAZING!! Just fell in love with the SUHR STRAT... wooooow... Congratulations DUDE! you play really good and know how to use that toys!!!! (I need that pedal now too MrGreen)
This demo really made me happy. You see, I already HAVE a Carl Martin Plexitone and love it, but for some reason I´ve lately been thinking about buying a Blackstar HT Dual instead. The thing is that I find the HT Dual so fun to play on but when I really listen to the two pedals I find that the Plexitone sounds so much clearer and more true Marshall. A bit harder to master and more revealing but free from that bzzz-isch sound the Blackstar pedals and amps have. Your demo made it so obvious! :)
I dont know if its some sort of osmosis happening or what but I aleays play better after watching your videos Pete. So, thank you! :) Very much. I love your style and tones, its just so inspiring.

Notice that when he picks up the guitar...the sun magically comes out!
Mr. Thorn: thank you, your demos have become my "standard reviews" when it comes about pedal effects. I love your playing.
all his demos always sound amazing. im sure he could make even the crappiest $20 pedal sound killer!
Mr. Thorn! Thank you! This is the first video where someone demonstrates the higher fret attack loss of pedals.
6:00 your welcome(i was blown away)
this is why i love this guy,he makes his gear sing because his talent shows no boundries
Thanks For the Demo! Easily the best I have seen. I bought this pedal based on the demo!
I don't know how you know when to put together a demo, but you literally just saved me the headache and money of buying multiple pedals.
Monster sounds Pete. Kudos from a fellow Canadian!! Seriously, your gear demos and insights are really valuable. Cheers!
Ok, this is a must have pedal in your arsenal! Pete, you are fantastic!!! Love the VH!!!!!
You kickass Pete! I don't even care how awsome that Carl Martin is, your skills on this just blew me away.
What a bad ass lineup of guitars!! Great demo, great pedal, great playing. If I had seen this, would've bought my plexitone sooner!
that is a very believable brown sound. Pete you have amazing chops.
Dude, Pete... you're my friggin' hero. You're a huge inspiration. I hate to be "that guy," but I love all your demos. You really know how to apply all of the things in a demo that are on all of our minds. Thanks, man!

Pete, your videos are like the Hustler channel for gear heads.
Incredible pedal, and great demo! Just placed an order for one. This is the third or fourth thing I've bought because of Pete. Keep em coming!
Pete, you're one of the best players on youtube by far.. There's no question about it.. You can tell this guy is a true pro.. Great Demo
finally a gear demo that makes me want to actually buy whats being shown
GEAR TOUR!!!! Pete you have to show off all those guitars one by one!!!
Greatest plexitone demo, seriously.. the best!
Great song at the end of the demo!!! i'm sold with that pedal!! great great playing mister Thorn! Cheers from France
Very well done Pete. That pedal really has the vibe. Keep up the excellent demos!

Sounds incredible. That's the sound I've been looking for.
One of the best reviews ever.subscribing now!
Yup, anything Mr. Thorn does is pure gold. Love it!
This dude is so cool and laid back honestly if i could have a 1/16th of his talent i would feel great Please keep up the youtube content pete I enjoy your playing a lot also a fellow canadian. we rock baby!
Pete, demo is great, as always with You, and this "EVH section" of it was so fun to watch :)
That maybe your best demo so far, great playing!

I went out and bought a Plexitone when I watched this video. Incredible!
Great demo! Thanks to your demo I ended up getting one and I am super pleased!!!

That is such a nice and organized pedal board x___x
excellent as always!! been looking for a pedal for a while and this demo got me sold!
Love the tone and the playing

AARRHHH!! Pete! You are the best. I keep coming back to this demo. I am getting a Plexitone in a couple of days as you really have blown me away. I really look forward to try this out. OMG that's the most perfect EVH sound I've ever seen
Sure, the pedal sounds great, but your playing made my morning. Cheers, Mr. Thorn.
@iBrows1 yes I agree! It works great in front of a Marshall set clean.
Martin makes the best overdrive stuff.
Hell yeah! Classic VH riffs through that plexi tone sound great!
Hey Pete! I was in the market for a pedal and as soon as I heard that you had one and raved about it on another website before this video, I bought one based just on that. I'll be sending you the bill by the way! :) Great demo and great playing as always!
Staggeringly good demo and wicked playing as always - blew my socks off pal.
Pete, you are a great Player man. And the presentation is also more than well done =)
Best instruments demos on the web are by Pete always. Thanx for posting man.
I had one of these pedals and loved it. I don't know why it didn't catch on.
Sweet tones dude and badass track at the end!
Holy moley, now that is a demo........ i nearly fell off my chair when you ripped into the end track. Excellent work.
Yeah Pete Awesome dude. I really love you playing at the end on this one. Very inspiring! As always super nice and professional. Thanks man your the real deal.

Pete should take all those ideas he wrote for this demo and make an album, I'll buy it!

thnx

Great insight and thoughtful. Glad I came across your video. Of course, your playing is awesome as well.

Awesome song at the end. You rock!
Wow, that pedal does kick out some great tones. Great video as always.
Nice Pete, I think this demo tune will have to make it onto Guitar Nerd for sure
Hi Pete, love all your vids.. great playing there. Question, I actually am seriously considering going the route of a clean amp head with my gain and other effects coming from the pedal board. the harmonics on the high gain is what I like.
Great demo Pete! What a great tone and playing!
My favorite tone is the neck position on the S type Suhr guitar, the green one, it sounded amazing!
Holy shit, you are a fuckin great guitarist man. Awesome feel while playing, and great demo too of course. Nice.
Sold!!! Seriously, amazing.
Sounds awesome!
@TheMuhd85 A@S cases, North Hollywood, CA- custom made there, with a matching case.
This demo really made me happy. You see, I already HAVE a Carl Martin Plexitone and love it, but for some reason I´ve lately been thinking about buying a Blackstar HT Dual instead. Your demo made it so obvious! :)
Great tone and demo Thanks!!
@knikk77 run the gain on 3-4, tones on 4-6, and power and drive on 5. that's a good place to start. Then hit with pedals for gain
Awesome demo !!! Thank you
fookin awesome, pete! you're the man! thx!
I dont know if its some sort of osmosis happening or what but I aleays play better after watching your videos Pete. So, thank you! :) Very much. I love your style and tones, its just so inspiring.
@Rasser48 I think it's best used into a fairly clean amp- clean to pushed
