so confusing that people call this and other multi pedal programmable boards LOOPERS... i thot loopers were the name dedicated for pedals that record, save, and playback sounds... informative vid. thank you.
ukshrednoodle Thanks. I was just looking at that site before I asked you. Just wanted to make sure it was the right type of box. I want to do a similar thing, and use the fx loop of my amp as well. So I guess this little box is used just so that you don't need to mess about with cables in and out of the octa switch - every time you setup for a gig you can just plug into the little box instead?
How many amps can this unit send out to? My current (complicated setup) I have 2 Marshall JCM900 heads on the left that are running in stereo from a MXR stereo chorus for full dirty sound. On the right I run 2 Fender twins where the Boss SuperChorus feeds them for my cleans and overdrives. So, 4 amps in total, but 2 on each side used in stereo. Never do I have all 4 running at once. It's either the 2 Marshalls or the 2 Fender Twins. What say you???
thinking about it, it has two amp outputs, but i don't think you can toggle between them. carlmartin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/manual-octa-switch-mk3.pdf if you come out of say loop 3, you must return into it or no circuit.
Does this have any ability to carry over delay/reverb trails once you turn a patch off that has trails still ringing out? Or does it just cut them off? Thanks
Hello, what I am missing and do not remember seeing on either of these demos - is there a way you can use the switcher so you can have multiple loops active at the same time? Imagine I have my boost pedal in loop 8 and my OD in loop 1. At some point I realize I need boost and do not have it dip-switched, can I run Loop 1 and 8 simultaneously? Thanks in advance
foot switches select loops , you can choose any pedal connected to any loop via the foot switch (a patch) dip switch chooses "pedal" on that patch only. both drives would be "on". alternatively put a drive before the guitar input on this device. you can only run 1 preset at once.
ukshrednoodle i dont think you can really can you? I felt as though there is probably two too many. But the set up and the way it works is brilliant. I have guitar in, two in the effects loop send and return, and two for external switching. I do have a gap between loops 2 and 4 meaning loop 3 is not used. This wont effect the chain?
I'm trying to set up the Kiko Loureiro live set on its European tour but using the octa mk III, it's exactly what I have prepared, all those pedals and the dv mark stereo amplifier, with its fx loop configuration, but I still do not buy the cables yet and part of the idea of that the octaswich needs straight pins and do not know what will be the proper voltage for the Octaswitch, I ask for help, and I want to buy cables with high quality straight plug, besides the supposed 3 part cable for the fx loop: mono-mono-stereo. In addition to bright onion. Will it be the mono or the stereo? Dv mark multiamp comes prepared for stereo with two simple cabinets for stereo mode, and can make the same with autoamplifier monitors, now I have it configured at the moment with 2 kRk vxt 8 self-powered. thank you m.ua-cam.com/video/mPPhbcAm7Yc/v-deo.html images.app.goo.gl/Siik5r3xfMxBfSLt8 images.app.goo.gl/oZaUJY5jJxstEeSB9
@@angelmorillas6566 I'm not sure what you are asking. I use it to switch combinations of pedals . some pedals are before amp input and some in FX loop of amp. I can select any combination of FX, whether before amp or in its loop.any patch can have any FX which are plugged into octaswitch. I can also do basic amp channel switching, ie clean channel or lead. power supply is for FX as normal. if I can help I'll be glad to. I only use a Marshall head
Okay, you are very kind, understand that I am a classical guitarist and I return to the electric guitar after 25 years. I would like you to help me in the purchase of cables. I want quality (fleeing from noise) Those cables with red connector of the Octaswitch, what cables do you recommend to buy? Which pedal meters in FX and which ones to the amplifier? List of pedals from the Kiko set: -bogner harlow ("Bloom" compression, which serves as a three-dimensional boost) -Hall of fame 2 (reverb) -Tc Electronic Flashback x4 (delay and looper) -Hot drive NIG (overdrive) -Morley 2 Wah FX Pedal (the famous Steve Vai Wahwah)
This has to be the easiest looper to use. Every Guitarist should have one of these. I can’t wait to get mine.

f'sho. :) do u kno why they're called loopers?@@ukguitarnoodle
@@pfkmsandiego I guess it's because each pedal is in its own fx loop .
hmmmm. interesting. thank you. :) @@ukguitarnoodle
So you need to take up one of the eight loops to utilize the effects loop of your amp?
Yes
Hi there, what is that little junction type box you're using in loop 4 between the the octa switch and the amp? Looks nice and tidy! Thanks.
brasseye84
separate front of amp and fx loop of amp www.brightonion.co.uk/2-gang-patchbox-top-and-side-sockets/

@@ukguitarnoodle thanks for the answer.
How do power it? Can you use a normal 9v pedal power supply?
infoowetrust 500 ma power 9v
Thanks I got the mk2 used $150 on reverb thing is great
I have a mk3. Is there any way of cutting back on the amount of leads being used? Im using the effects loop.
Andrew Robson no, if you are using the fx loop you have to wire it
are you only using fx loop? or both like me?
ukshrednoodle yeh mate i am using both. I have a tuner, wah, ge-7 and overdrive in the front, and phaser, chorus and dd7 in the loop.
Andrew Robson which cables do you want to cut down on?
