- In this video, we are making a new mailbox for our property. We are removing the old one that originally came with the property and swapping it for this XL Custom made mailbox.
We used the Centennial XL mailbox from Lowes and made a custom 10"x10" post for it.

I love watching people dig in nice soil. In Maine the mailbox goes not where you want it but instead where you don’t hit boulders.
in Virginia, it takes 2 days to shovel dig a hole like that, the RED CLAY is as hard a cement, using a post hole digger is not an option, it is a procedure. Good Work to the hard working couple.
Great to see you two working together on a really cool project. That's one beefy mailbox, and I feel sorry for the first kid that runs into it on a bicycle or 4-wheeler. Also always a pleasure to see the beautiful Zoe and listening to her detail out what was done. I can only imagine the look on the mail lady's face when she first pulled up to that monster.
That is the most sturdy mailbox I've ever seen! Nice job.
Great post for y'all mailbox Zoe love y'all and your videos
Now that's how a mailbox should be done, TEAM WORK
WOW that's a big mailbox post, you guys did an awesome job making that post and getting it set up 💪💪
Great job, and ya'll work great together. Don't remember that Florida sand being that tough though. Being back in Kentucky, looks so easy!! Always enjoy watching you guys!!
Wow looks great. Nice job I was looking for ideas for my mail box. I live in Maine and that would work for me. Thank you and have a great day.
I love this mailbox post and the way you burnt it, and it looks great. I need to put up another mailbox post, and although my post will not be that big, I hope it will at least look good. I also subscribed to your channel, and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos!
Nobody gonna steal that mailbox!❤
Wow!! most people would have used the kubota!
love that mailbox well done love how you two work together
This just became a favorite video of mine. Definitely making this mailbox for my Arkansas property.
Having one cut now looks great!!!
That is beautiful work brother 👏. Love the mailbox set up
That thing is built for fun !!! 😎
My Self Reliance uses the same method building log cabins. He used it with a roof for his last log cabin and lately been using it again making the base and basment for his new log cabin. Only difference is he uses an open fire to burn the logs. He just rotates them after a bit and it seems to work very well and much quicker than a torch.
You guys make a beautiful couple! 👍🏼👍🏼
She is the cutest lil Phat lady on you tube
What phat? She's all muscle.
She's just juicy
Very good idea and nice mailbox 😁
That thing is a beast, that should cover your workout today for arms, back, and legs! 😎
Nice Box!
👍 Awesome now that’s a Mailbox 👍
Man...awesome! People look at me like im crazy when i ask someone to build me 6x6 or 8x8 mailbox post! Tired of texting drivers taking mine down and escaping lol
Love watching your videos. You guys are a great team and, make a beautiful couple
really nice setup!
Looks like the new mailbox is a bit higher than the other one. I hope you don't have to change it. And, I am envious of you dude that your wife is so willing and able to help you with the work you do. I wish I had had that with my wife in my business.
I didn't catch it was not in the whole yet at first ,I was like ......dang that's a little tall...looks good 👍
It looks great good job
In my state the home owner is held responsible for any damages occurred by anything bigger than a 4x4 post ,it’s considered a road size hazard and the bottom of the mailbox is suppose to be no more than 42” or less than 38” from the road surface.Good looking post though.👍
I was thinking the same thing, I believe it goes for the entire country. I had to install one at my house as well.
I love the way the mailbox looks though, they did a great job!
*Curbside mailbox posts should be buried less than 24 inches deep and made from wood no larger than 4 inches high by 4 inches wide.
www.mailboss.com/guide-usps-mailbox-regulations/
While I see your point, what about a large tree near the road? Would the homeowner be responsible for a tree that a car hits?
Paulog1990 If the home owner planted the tree within 6ft of the roadside then yes they could be held responsible.
@@steveyork8069 what if the tree was already there?
Paulog1990 When I moved in to my current house to keep the same insurance company I had on my previous house they made me cut a tree down within that 6ft area or they weren’t going to insure me.May depend on who has the best lawyer.
Love your videos👍🏼 keep posting
Aah the dream is over 😝
That s a nice mail box by thé way
I really admire how people lived in remote places in the middle of nowhere and call it home , to each his own .
What a beautiful couple God bless you always
Fantastic job and fantastic video again. Zoe is a little strong girl
Holy balls !! Does your mailman drive a Monster Truck ?! WOW
I could feel the strain. Nice work. Pitty the fool that trys to knock it down.
Just a quick tip for anyone about to try this: if your timber is not sanded and it’s straight from the mill like this post is, when you go to apply your boiled linseed oil, make sure whatever you use to apply the oil is LINT FREE. Or use a high quality brush. I ruined a piece of rough sawn timber once not thinking trying to apply linseed oil with a cloth that had lint. No lint roller, no wire brush, no toothbrush, NOTHING takes the lint off aside from sanding, planing, or re milling. Hope this helps…
Cool finishing method.
Cool ! I like seeing you guys work together ! Nice job !
I had to smile when Zoey said “I think we’re hitting the earth’s core.” I’m a geologist.
Wow now that's a post, less struggling with the tractor
Hit that beast well done
Great job and love that post. but i have a silly question. Instead of fighting to lower it into the hole and back out. why didn't you use that strap with the tractor she use to load the saw to lift and lower it? sure would have saved your back!
Awesome job as always but agree it looks high. 45 inches to the bottom of box and 8 inches off of edge of road.
I love how soft your soil is. I am going to make a post for my huge mailbox. I will have to hire someone to dig 2 ft down in the rock hard desert ground.
I know about those heavy timbers, I recently put a big male log on my mill 10x12"x8.5' wanted to remove it and my tractor starter quit. I ended up cutting the timber into boards so I could get it off my mill. I can load logs onto my mill using a winch and ramps but taking a big timber off another thing. Finally after the starter being at the starter repair shop I get it back tomorrow and can start back milling big stuff
If only you had a tractor to help you put that post in the ground!! 😀
Really: I was wondering why the struggle
She has a tractor - the one wearing a cap.
Strong fella that looks heavy
It’s a nice mail box
Dang that post is a beast!
Crazy heavy!!!

Hello, I am from Iraq, I love you so much, your wife is beautiful
Don't be surprised if the neighbors get jealous! Or, if they ask you guys to build one for them!
Excellent work. Are you considering a drop box for Amazon packages
Frank's Tip:
You have a tractor, so next time wrap a chain around the post 3 times and secure it. Secure the other end of the chain to the bucket (or fork) and lift straight up. Let hydraulics pull the pole and not you back. This works on any kind of pole. Do the opposite to set the new pole in the ground. Work smarter, not harder!
Seems like to me the raggedy mailbox is doing a pretty damn good job of staying put
That looks really cool ,Nice !! First car that hits it ....lol
The pole will definitely win haha
I think I've seen them on building a home in 100 days?
Nice. I remember installing the mailbox post at my first house in East Bradenton in 1994. I hit water at 2 ft down! You must be high altitude there....15ft above sea level?
the box and post at my old house was 6 inch pipe 5 ft in the ground with concrete inside then my mail box was 3/8 thick steel plating welded
we had problems with people knocking our box down (kids and drunks) after we built and installed the beast of a mail box. we had no more knock downs but we did find a few broken baseball bats. or a drunk driver wrapped around the pole but no more knock downs to my knowledge pole and box are still there 15-20 years later
Y'ALL have successfully STOPPED mailbox baseball❕ HAHAHA🤣
Thanks for you videos pretty
dolape, te sacaste la lotería con la rubia!
I’ve lifted a 6x6 post for my pergola. I can only imagine what that must have weighed!!!!
Now I know where I have seen her before! 😉
Hmmm if this method close pores how is the oil going to soak in? Should you have applied oil first n let sit for a day then burn it
Great looking mail box. Great team work. No post hold digger?
The post is awesome. I recently spent 200 for an 8x8x16' post so I'm guessing that post would have been well over a bill in the store. Trying to figure out why you don't at least own a post hole digger. With that farm of yours, I bet you would find a ton of uses for an auger attached to your tractor. Not sure if you own forklifts for your tractor, but that would have made a world of difference hauling that heavy post. I probably use forklifts as much as the bucket. You could have even used the bucket to support it. Please save your back.
One hell of a dam idea on that big mailbox post, I really think it's unanimous idea for around the entire country that we'd all prefer to have much beefy ier , mailbox posts, but as the government regulations state this n that about break away safety for reasons for the general motorists, we all want the fort Knox principle. But that 10x10 that dam nice idea showing some muscle,
Delivery Drivers appreciate your numbering !
Yep I agree with DeBow, If you lived in rural Georgia, that mail box will get the post shortened. Also with a really nice tractor like that why not get an auger to dig the hole and use the front end loader to set the post??????
Beautiful wood post….I need a saw mill, some day! Incredible wife😍
Is it 41 - 45” from the ground to the bottom of mail box?
Should of used the tractor and a chain to lift it out of the ground if you have equipment Should use it to save on work and they make a auger for drilling holes for post power poles and mail box post even 10x10 post. Makes task simple take it from a country Boy that knows.
Nice
Thumbs up for Zoe
I thought you had a cutting torch. If so a rose bud would be much quicker.
11:00 I just noticed, you are the only one who have a mail box beside the road.. overall it looks amazing..
Nice hefty mail box and post.I was wandering if that charing the wood with the touch keeps termites away, they love to eat pine
as far as I know it does for a while
He didn’t really burn it enough
Why did you choose pine and not cedar
Also hopefully you get/have a magnetic square 🤔😉
Tractor and a scrap would been a big help
Why didn't you put cement as a base in the hole?
Dang girl, careful standing by the road, Zoe, you're gonna cause a distracted driving accident.
My thought exactly godamn girl
that smoke must smell so good while it gets burnt. I love me the smell of a wood burning.
Good afternoon from SE Louisiana 12 May 21.
Big log little torch 🤣
you see guys.. be a good man and your wife will stay in shape too lol definitely a power couple.
I don't know anything about the Japanese method, but will it protect it from the water? How does it compare to pressure treated?
You need to burn it way more than that , he needed the bigger burner it I imagine the Japanese used to pass the wood over coals maybe ?
You can make a fire and do it that way too. Quicker and easier than that small torch.
nice
we need beefy posts here in western NY..the snowplow destroy ours lol
Beautiful nice outfits .
Yall have a Kubota!!!!
It's so stupid to try so hard for a simple mailbox, but woman cook sweetie I love it❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just a heads up. In my area it’s illegal to have a mailbox post larger than 3.5” x 3.5” and needs to be able to shear. If someone were to crash into it they can hold you liable for damages and injuries. Just stop at your local USPS for verification.
sounds like you live in a very liberal area. in the south east we have metal post and even brick enclosed mail boxes and not liable for damages, however the drivers that destroy the mailbox are responsible
@@dirtyrider098 usps has nothing to do with what state you’re from as it’s a Federal agency... there is only one set of regulations for setting a box...
www.usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htm
You could build a fire and stick the end in the fire for a little while and that will prevent the moisture and bugs.
Nice mailbox. Im watching because im getting ready to install a new one at my house. Just a question... why aren't you using your tractor to lift with? That looks heavy.
Tractor with front loader forks!!! Hey people!!!
Shoot where I live it would take all day to dig a hole that big by hand. Rocks and clay is what I have. With about 4 inches of top soil. We would need a backhoe.
Howdy you two .
By USPS regulatory standards, your mailbox should be 41” to 45” from the ground or street surface and up to the inside floor of the mailbox.
