Things you don't know about this video: Ed and I have been at home for almost 3 weeks now! Things are getting scarier and scarier in NYC. There are 40,000 coronavirus cases in NY State, so we haven't been out since a week ago when we bought food. I'm sure we're all going through the same emotions: days where staying at home is easy and peaceful, and days where anxiety is mega high and you wonder how on earth you're going to make it until the end. But we know staying at home is the best decision to protect ourselves and others! This week I wanted to add more things to my schedule and I'm so happy I did! I stopped checking the news obsessively and I tried to use my time on something fulfilling , and IT WORKED OUT!
No matter where you are I just wanted to send you so much love and strength. You're not alone and I think there's a weird comfort (amongst all the horrible things that are happening) that we're all going through very similar things. Please take care of yourself, this is THE time where we have to be extra gentle and nice to us!

For a drawing idea it would be interesting to see your take on making book cover illustrations for your favourite book or a book from childhood or something like that, or if you want a smaller idea maybe some daffodiles.
My question is this, since you have lived in many different places and therefore, I assume, have friends spread out all over the world, how do yo manage to keep in touch with everyone?
Here in Brazil we say "quentinho no coração" when we feel cozy. So, Fran, thank you so much for making me feel a "quentinho no coração". Much love from here. Everything's gonna be okay soon.

For a drawing idea I think drawing from history is fun, like greek mythology or even historic figures like joan of arc, or khutulun. Or even taking statues and making them characters.
Ooooh yes this idea! I would love love love to see you do this Fran!!! How about historical figures we don't all know about? Less famous ones? Indigenous people? Forgotten/ignored heroines?

Today, for me is Day 5 and it's a gloomy Sunday morning in England. You made made me laugh out loud when you adjusted the camera to see the sketchbook. Watching you drink your fresh coffee has given me the push of jealousy to get out of bed and make my own hahah. THANK-YOU! Your pink hair looks awesome in that light, really compliments your skin tone.
Drawing idea: the 'underworld' in a bowl of ramen, as if it would be an acquarium you look at from under the surface.

I think a good drawing idea would be to draw what they are up to right now. Did they start a grow operation, LOL? Are they basking in the sun by the window? Trying on all your tshirts? Painting the walls with your art supplies? I think that would make for a hilarious drawing idea. 🤣❤ Keep taking care of you. Drawing ideas:
I would be so happy to see you drawing people dancing the Lindy Hop (a wonderful swing dance from the 1920s/30s) ♡. Vintage
clothing might make interesting silhouettes :).
Another idea would be people dancing at home in their most ridiculous Pyjamas (i'm thinking of Dinosaur Onesies and Fluffy Bunny Slippers).

Thanks for this Fran. It was just what I needed. After a week break I’m back working on my picture book project, I was so worried it was going to be dropped but thankfully the client wants me to continue! It has been really tricky now that my studio has been taken over by my husband who is working full time from home and also my kids being at home(we are in full lockdown in New Zealand). I know it will be a bit of trial and error to work out how we make our new normal work for us. Thank you for your calm and chilled videos in such a hectic time💜

I was really happy seeing your face actually, not that I don't love watching you drawing too, but seeing people talking is so helpful at the moment! ❤ Drawing idea: I read this morning about a town in Wales that has been taken over by goats, who have wandered in off the hills now there are few people around, climbing up walls and wandering up quaint little deserted shopping streets. I am spending the year working through The Artists Way. There are 12 chapters so from today I will start my April chapter. I don't do Morning Pages every day unfortunately, but I am finding doing them and the exercises really quite amazing xxx

THANK YOU for showing random little daily things, because you taught me that there are REUSABLE CLOTH COFFEE FILTERS! I had never even thought of reusable ones for my pour-over coffees. Immediately went on Etsy and found some made of hemp to order. I do compost the ones that I use currently, but I really like the idea of reusable ones.
So cool. I am doing the artist way too. I think its been really good in the days that we are at home. The only "sad" thing is the artist date!! Oh well. Saving some of them to do when we can "go outside" :)

Your comment about fancy teas sparked an idea: the fancy tea party. A collection of tea cups, tea pots (or coffee mugs and coffee pots) and yummy things to eat: pancakes, scones, macarons, (lucuma) layer cake...fancy serviettes and table cloth, with flowers. What do you think? I would go to a tea party like that!

I am quite productive in this crisis, even i have a 1 year old child at home. I try to focus on my projects and work. Every sunday i make a to-do list for the next week. That helps. Also cooking and drawing helps a lot.

Drawing Idea: I would love to see a nice woodsy scene, something magical but also like 'stuck in time' almost. Like the rest of the world hasn't touched it. But it has alot of character and charm. I'm feeling dreamy from all the extra reading I have been able to fit in during this time. And I feel like many of us would love to live in this type of place right now because you could still go out and explore with out worry.
