I eat one a day, it doesn’t elevate my blood sugar, I feel better the last 3 months since I’ve been eating them. They are so good and worth the trouble of eating the juicy seeds. Glad to be able to get your take on the foods that can help our health, instead of more medication.
Following your overall advice I lost 20 lbs in 6mths and brought my A1C from 9 to 4. I did great until I got the big C. I was in the hospital and had steroids and of course had hospital food which was a reg. Diet. Not a diabetic diet. I'm starting over doing the right thing. This doc knows what he's talking about!
Kaiser ha diabetic diets for in-patients. In fact, their hand-held Tablet would not even let me order high-carb or high-cholesterol foods. But, they still provided healthy and tasty meals to me !!!
Sorry to hear about your illness. My endoscopy and the recommended sugary gatorade and fruit juice purge set my A1C back a year. I knew better but did what the docs told me to. After a few weeks I'm getting back to (new) normal.
I am a survivor myself and had a stroke when something took advantage of the weakening of my immune system from the chemo. Generally it is best to do what the nurses tell you. Note that I said the NURSES and not the doctors! The nurses usually have more interaction with patients and will have great advice. Best to follow your common sense though and if something strikes you as not quite right ask your doctor. (My oncologist said to do what the nurses told me to as well.)
Wouldn’t it be better to eat the Pomegranate whole with the fiber rather than drinking the juice? Was thinking that the fiber might help in processing the carbs.
This is so exciting! I grew up next to a field full of pomegranate trees and ate them all the time. Then, I heard - NO, you're diabetic and they have too much sugar. Well, thank you for setting the record straight. I will again incorporate them in to my diet. Thank you again!!!
I hope you are 100% accurate Doc because I love pomegranate and read it's beneficial for prostate. And I didn't know until now how low it's GI was (18 - 53).
Such good information! I'm a retired RN and I'm learning a lot from Dr. Ergin. Going to buy some pomegranets for sure. I also learned a lot from him on another video about avocados. All of his videos have been a blessing. Thank you!
My doctor has me on 80mlgs of statins. I hate it and I’m having serious doubts that I need it. I’ve been eating pomegranate daily for about 3 months now and I feel great. I sure hope the benefits show up in my blood work.
The Pomegranate skin has even more antioxidants than the seeds which fight inflammation and people usually discard it. If you dry the Pomegranate skin in an oven at low heat (200 F or less), you can then grind it in a powder. Half a teaspoon of this powered skin can be added to your coffee grinds when you make coffee. This will add a red tint (antioxidants) to your coffee and the bitter taste of the skin mixes well with the bitter taste of the coffee. If you need a sweet taste to your coffee, you can add some Stevia which does not add to your blood glucose although it will release some insulin.
Hallo doctor thank you very very much for explaning, i like to contact you doctor to explain about my son also about myself we are diabetes type2, trying very much to search wat food, vegetable & fruits we can can be taken thank you very very much please reply me ❤️💐🙏🏼
I have been drinking the juice daily for 3 months i am diabetic and psoriasis i have lost 6 lbs and my blood sugars have greatly improved i have had bypass surgery 6 years ago im feeling much better
I love pomegranates!! As a DM2 I have avoided all fruit except for the occasional berry or two. I've been on Keto and doing IF; Fortunately I have turned my numbers around but do miss fruit. I will get some pomegranates today and see how it affects my numbers. Thanks so much for your channel.
So your saying the juice has fiber in it? And most pomegranate juices available here in the states is pasteurized. When heating the juice destroy a lot of the good stuff in them. So juice or actual fruit consumption is better. Could you also post the study?

Hi Dr. What about if due to the different season we dont have the fresh pomegranate? What about the Pomegranate Juice from the supermarket?? Also how is cranberry juice for the Diabetic type 2? Please let me know. Thank you
I’ve been buying the pomegranate arils in the produce section. A little pricey but it’s cheaper than getting sick. I eat one container per day, sometimes every other day.
I rushed out for pomegranate juice after watching this. Just one capful in my kale shake is enough to send my blood glucose soaring. Pity, because it makes even Kale taste better,

What do you think of the new V8 juices, one is pomegranate, beet, ginger, apple I think. They say no gmo's etc. I find if I take a swig or two a day it doesn't go bad in frig, and I feel (being mostly grass fed ruminants carnivore), I am getting a little carbs as a treat. (Like ancestral health would have picked something along the hunt to find meat). Also, we need to eat less than the guidelines for optimal health, we were never meant to eat all day and snack half the nite as food corporations push... The human body is designed extremely efficiently.

I love pomegranate juice. It's the best juice I think to drink. I get the bottle in the refrigerated section by the fresh fruits and veggies. In the morning I will drink about 8oz of it. I just started watching your videos and I'm going to apply the stuff to my life. I just need to get my diabetic husband to follow along. He is a bit stubborn and thinks he is doing just fine when I know he's not. I have had a few strokes I know what fine and not fine looks like.
Thank you for a great informative video. I am now a type 2 diabetic at the age of 50. When I was 25 and non diabetic I used to be a vegetarian and I became obsessed with pomegranate. I used to eat 1 every day. The only downside to this was the pomegranate stained my teeth so bad only the dentist could get it off. I have been off pomegranate ever since but I will try again but in moderation now thanks to your advice. I thought I would share my experience so other people are aware. Thanks again :-)

Is it true: if you boil a potato then cool it in the fridge, it changes the molecular structure & it doesn't spike your blood sugar?

I'm in the process of making a tincture with the entire fruit (seeds, juice, inner white part & skin).
Does coffee hinder absorption of the nutrients ?
@@farheenshamsi I've read that dairy can hinder the antioxidant action but not the coffee itself
And coffee is bad for diabetics.
I will add this too my daily intake forsure and grocery list. Thank you for your advice.
You tell it in a nice way as always The information will do the diabetics good.
I'm glad i know so much too. Thanks a lot dr. Ergin
