Recently my best friend Kate came to visit me in Istanbul and of course I had to show her the best places and hidden gems of the city. During one week we explored the summer city trying to avoid the crowds and survive in the Turkish heat. Kinda failed but still managed to get amazing memories!

you noticed very well that the places in the first part of the video was actually the very old era from the town like 14th until 18th century and in the last parts it was from the modern era of the ottoman empire which was more westernized at the 19th century
Dari, thank you again for a brisk, well put together, concise showcase of your adventures in Istanbul. I really liked how you sprinkled in a few historical facts about some of the famous locales you were able to visit. Keep it up!
Another nice aspect of your videos is inserting some personal observations of what you did not enjoy as much and what you found worth recommending to others, and various times of year to avoid for future foreign visitors. That is quite helpful information. If you travel to more English friendly areas in the future (where they wouldn't mind conversing with you in English for your videos), be sure to add in some short interviews within your highlights of various shops, restaurants, and other interesting places where the proprietors, guides, and others (even friends or acquaintances you may know in the area) introduce your audience to the making of unique local cuisine, beverages, regional arts and crafts, customs, music, historical observations, etc. Quality travel guides can walk and talk with you, if you feel they are adding something to the video you and others might not have known before. That was always a nice personal touch with Rick Steves' and Anthony Bourdain travel shows. This let the locals share the pride in their country and their businesses as much as the host interjecting with their narration. They were very popular shows too. Something to keep in mind for future vlogs. This takes a little more leg work, pre-planning, and interpersonal skills to get this kind of cooperation and footage, but it will become easier to set up beforehand over time.
Wow! The tourist lines are almost as bad as waiting for the rides at a Disney amusement park! LOL.

Great to see places for tourists and the small local niches. It's always nice to see the grand and historical places but it's even better when combined with authentic local atmosphere, then one can truly say they have seen and experienced a country.
Clearly it's more complicated to survive a summer in Turkey than one would have thought 🥵🤒😱 Glad that you survived and went to see a doctor🤗

Non touristy and less touristy parts of Istanbul are much more beautiful than touristy parts. With also less crowds.

I live in Paris, and the only times I have been up the Eiffel tower is when visiting friends want to do it. As I didn't grow up in France, of course I wanted to see it, but never really had any desire to go up it, unlike some other tourist attractions that I did actually want to experience as much as possible.
That reminds me of a joke about Tour Montparnasse : the top of it is the only place in Paris where the view is not spoiled by the Tour Montparnasse 😂

This is one of reasons Russians are welcome in Turkey, the country wants and needs them and with Turkey’s economy in bad straits, channels like yours show people why they should visit places like Istanbul. A really beautiful overview of the city, well done! The city’s tourism department should hire you for your work! You mentioned in your live stream the other day YT is your source of income and you love making content such as travel vlogs. I have a good feeling about it and truth be told, I never wanted this tour to end, it was that good! Much thanks for the video and Dari as always, I’m looking forward to more in the future. I was surprised to see that there are many beautiful places in Istanbul. Many Americans don't have a clue. Because you guys (vloggers) travel and post videos, it helps us to see the world through your eyes. You might not be aware that you guys have done more to promote peace and understanding through your videos, because the news media rarely ever says anything good about other countries, particularly those that are considered unfriendly. You guys are indeed showing us that the world is a much more friendly place than we are told in the news, which is mostly negative and alarming.

That attitude of only reporting earthquakes and terrorist attacks is sadly the standard of the news media. Having been a number of times in Turkey, I was surprised by the high standard of the infrastructure and the good hotels. However, the taxi drivers are among the worst, and Dari has reported that a number of times.
I wish they made buildings like that palace again. That was so amazing with details. I want those chairs though at that hub cafe lol.

it appears that you are Russian with a video like that!) The video producer that you should try to duplicate the accent of is Alina McCleod from the plains of Canada. Her videos are worth viewing on her travels throughout the west coast of Canada and the mid-section of Canada, along with Thailand, Albania, & other countries. She is close enough to a Midwestern accent but with a slight amount of the plains of Canada mixed in. I believe that she is residing Calgary now. She grew up in the Alberta providence of Canada. I have trouble understanding what you are
saying if you have a lot of background noise recorded in the background. I had trouble understanding you period in your year old or older videos. Annuncating your words better may also help with speech clarity. "The Two Mad Explorers" did a better job of covering the Grand Bazaar in a more interesting manner than this video and a large portion of their video was on this shopping district. Your video centered on the architecture and art gallery scene in Turkey; because, I believe that it is a passion of yours. ( architecture and painting) ( it was my mothers passion too and is my youngest sister's passion too) You made both interesting and covered both very well. Montreal is full of old world French architecture, the only North American city that is full of any significant amount of European Achitecture. ( I 'll let your audience correct me if I am wrong) My younger sister has vacationed in Montreal and Paris France. Everyone in our family and her friends mention that she is an excellent painter but she refuses to believe in her abilities. You do one thing better than "Natasha's Adventures"; you have perfected the Western smile. At times I feel that if Natasha smiled; her face may produce a crack or break in it. ( tongue in cheek comment, don't take it literally, but you should get the point)
I'll never get to Turkey, so this was interesting to see, well done! Some of what you mentioned in the Q&A was scary, so always remember big cool hats, drink lots and lots of water, and stay aware of how you feel.
Dari, I like your videos, but the sound is not equal from when you are talking directly at the camera (It is louder when you talk directly at the camera which is great. The louder the better. There are older people who do not have such great hearing.) than when you dub your voice in the video (During dubbing, your voice is very low and soft. It is fine that it is soft but make your voice louder and equal to when you talk directly at the camera.) Also, when you do live stream, you are not loud enough. I tested it out with a new laptop. Louder is better; older people do not have such great hearing.

Just wear a big, white hat if you want to spend the whole day outside in the sun. I usually wear a white baseball cap and suntan lotion. I never had a sunstroke in my life, not in the Sahara and not in the Gobi and not even the Turkmenistan desert in summer... 😎😎
I think you need to get out of Istanbul once a week to enjoy nature and escape from the noise and the crowds.

just for info you can find a similar place like arnavutköy on the asian side which named kuzguncuk it has a similar architecture and cozy cafes and no tourists just locals trust me :)

Dari, while it is true that there are older people who do not have such great hearing, I need to add one more thing: You speak Russian with a strong Russian accent which is fine; however, if you do not speak loud enough, or your mic is not loud enough, you are hard to understand. Let me explain: Federal Express had a famous commercial 41 years ago with a guy who would speak English very fast-rather lightning fast, and I was, and I am still able to understand every word he speaks in those commercials. (You can look for the commercial on UA-cam. Put in FedEx commercial fast talker.) The point I am making is that when I listen to you, it is as if you are speaking English too fast (or a foreign language) which is impossible. You are speaking English-not a foreign language, and you are nowhere near as fast as the FedEx guy. I along with millions of people can understand every word he speaks. It is your strong Russian Accent. So please, make sure your volume is very high and equal in both dubbing your voice and talking directly at the camera.
I really enjoyed the art museums and the architecture. How about some dates on when some of the buildings were built? Some of the bricks in the streets you showed looked like they were mosaics. That might be an interesting topic for another video. Sometimes there is beautiful art just under your feet.
Did you notice any Christian churches in Istanbul? Are there any ceremonies with Turkish soldiers that you can film? What kind of music do Turks like to listen to? How does tea in Turkey compare to Russia? I understand they use some kind of double boiler that makes their tea especially strong. How does a Turkish teapot compare to a Russian samovar? I wonder what the local Istanbul artists are offering for sale on the street? Are there any women's fashion shops in Istanbul?
You could get one of those headbands that they soak in water to keep you cool. Keeping your head cool is the most important thing. Here in Texas, when I go to Galveston, I always take an umbrella. The sun, the heat, and the humidity are almost intolerable without an umbrella... gotta keep the ultraviolet off. They also make "sun hats" that have a solar cell on the brim that drives a little fan to blow air on your face. It's probably just a gimmick to get people's money but, maybe it will work. You might also consider getting some salt tablets and of course, water. When I was in the army in the desert, we were required to take salt tablets to help prevent heat stroke. You might also consider bright white clothing. Many people in Mexico wear white long sleeve shirts and pants, even in the hottest weather, to keep the sun off them.
All things considered, a great video.
