It’s windy all year round, so that scarf comes in handy even when not visiting mosques. The good thing is that if you forget to pack something, you can buy it there. Half of my wardrobe is from Istanbul 😁
I just went from Turkey this week I will say must do road trips it’s beyond beautiful landscape mountains nd cappadocia is on top unbelievable . it was so so so beautiful i fell in love with it nd my husband started thinking to get settled in Turkey . Well i did comment on your previous video nd you told me to bring some light woolen clothes but it was so cold in Istanbul around sunset time nd all day walking man we got tanned so badly . Well thank you for your help, if Almighty wants thn we will get settled in Turkey too.
@@BeryIstanbulTips - thanks very much. My children recently sent me to Antalya as I only ever holiday in Pakistan or Spain. Going to Turkey was an amazing experience so I am now planning a trip to Istanbul with my wife. Luckily I came across your channel. Keep up the good work.
And yes please bring very comfortable shoes. I walked 30k steps in one day 😂also , near Bosporus is very windy and you really need a beanie or something to cover your head as Bery mentioned
Thanks for the tips on Winter clothing...Coming from Switzerland, not much diff. in weather prob. warmer 🙂 Thanks for confirming the plugs - we are all set for a few days after New Years then, MUCHAS GRACIAS !!
Thank you for another informative and enjoyable video. Wouldn't it be great if you could note (and perhaps even sell) the accessories you have found that work for an Istanbul visit (and elsewhere of course)? For example it would be good to know what brand that cross body purse you wear is and where one could find it. Perhaps a link to somewhere on it? :)
I usually travel with just a backpack, and often don't stay places that have laundry facilities. In those cases, I wash my clothes in the shower and then hang them up to dry with the 3 or 4 travel hangers I bring. Travel hangers fold up very compactly and don't take a lot of room.
The best tip! We also do that 😅 we like to travel light, only with a backpack and if needed, we wash in the shower, that’s why I love traveling in summer because we can travel lighter, the problem is when traveling in winter, but we also manage it somehow 😁
Thank you for the really useful info. Question - are daypacks (small backpacks) allowed in mosques and the popular tourist sites such as Topkapi / Dolmabahce?
Great & super helpful tips, I am traveling to turkey this November and have watched most of your videos!! How will be the weather in November, could you add on that please??? Thank you :)
I travelled to Istanbul last year and in terms of shoes, she is right. Istanbul is a very walkable city, and it is not flat at all, you'll find some slopes definitely. So yes, you should wear very comfortable shoes. Next time I would love to go in winter.
Expensive ? It’s incredibly cheap compared to England. I am going this month (May 2024) and planning to buy most things there. I’m going to have some dental work done because it’s 10 x cheaper than having it done in England. Even with flights transfers and five star hotel included !❤
Sorry I know this is late but please help me - I am going to Istanbul this month (May 2024) and I need to take medication and supplements with me. But I’m really worried about the amount. It’s only for myself of course but I take 2 of 6 different tablets a day and I’m going for 7 days
I had no problem getting around Istanbul …at that time I only knew two three words of Turkish ..but i fell in love with Istanbul so much that when I came back I started learning Turkish I’m still not perfect in it certainly not upto the level of job ..but atleast I know it ..Istanbul is very cosmopolitan so everyone speaks English too and I had no problem..but there’s no harm in learning a few words of Turkish if u can ..there are videos of lessons on UA-cam that’s how I started too ..
What else would you add to the packing list?
