Hilarious comment! I still rock the v neck and semihollow tele look, but with a beard. Am I 2017 yet? Yep, this video was super helpful, especially with the use of the SOS as a pad. Way cool!
Great application video! I especially loved the live application of the looping feature from this pedal. Thanks for making this video. I'm planning on picking up a DD-20 today and I can't wait!!
Great video! I'm looking for a delay pedal for worship. Can't decide between the line 6 dl-4 and the boss dd-20. Any thoughts? Also, on the loop feature you don't get delay right? I think I read that you can but only once you are done recording and just playing over top of the loop. Thanks.
5 years late; this pedal is way cheaper now used. I just purchased one. This is not an all in one pedal, but it is fantastic for delay. If looping is important you will want a separate pedal for that.
@@grapelegion6081 thanks! I got the dd-20 and love it! Have used it in worship for years now and it was the perfect fit. Thanks for the great video about it!
I'm new to this side of things (used to be the drummer, then the bassist). Do you put your delay after your volume pedal? And on an unrelated note (not a musical pun), if you use an always on OD to break up with dynamics, where/should I apply a compression pedal in the mix? I have an intermediate idea of how to use this stuff, but any seasoned advice may be useful. My pedals are: MXR Super Comp, Walrus Mayflower, VP Jr (tuner out), DD-20, and I'm currently using the footswitch for my AC-15 to do Reverb (always on) and Tremolo. The guitar is a 72 Thinline Tele. Any advice from other worship leaders on order or settings is helpful! Happy Easter!
Neil S Usually Delay is the last pedal (followed by the FX in your amp) the compressor can either be after or before the always-on-drive. If you are using a rather noticeable compression effect you might want it before the drive so the comp doesn’t choke the passages where you play full volume & full drive. Specially with open chords and the like. If your comp effect is subtle, I like to put it further on, like after the drive pedals, so when I back down the volume of the guitar the compressor doesn’t pump it up and I can get clean tones. If you do so, make sure the comp won’t choke your louder/dirtier passages (unless you want to) by setting the threshold that triggers the compression high enough = the compress knob low enough.
Would you recommend this over the DD-7? I am torn between the two since I need to get a volume pedal as well! Is there a volume pedal you would recommend?
tbone martinez hey man, I would recommend DD-20 over DD-7 since you have more advantages over it. But if you look at the price factor go for DD-7. And regarding the volume pedal - I was thinking of getting one for myself but I decided not to buy it. I reason being is I play a strat and it really easy to adjust the volume control with my pinkie while playing. So save 100 bucks and invest that on a DD-20. You wont regret it!
eaglein050 I already bought it :/ we had an easter service and I needed I since my DD3 went out. As far as the pedal goes I play a Jackson So Cal Pretty much a strat so I can use the very positive volume knob to use for swells but its away easier with a pedal.
What about the TC electronic Nova Delay I see lots of other worship guitarists using this pedal at the moment i'm in a toss up between the Nova DD-20 and TC Flashback x4
I was very impressed by TC Electronics at NAMM. I'm curious about how they play out in a true live environment but am getting some in to demo so will be diving into that in another video
+Anthony Pieters Hey I know you posted this a while ago, but I thought i'd respond if you still are unsure. I have had experience with the Nova and I have the x4 and DD-20. I highly recommend the DD-20. Its the best one i've played.
+Sean Gustafson The Boss DD7 is probably the most christian one I've tried so far. It's white and pure like our lord, and the delay times are set, so you can't set it to 666ms.
MonoTopia5 DD20 or dd7 would work great. Although it sucks that you can't adjust the depth and rate of modulation on the dd7 when you can in the dd20. It's also probably my favorite delay in the dd20. Really though, wait and get the dd500
Great demo! Thank you for taking the time to make a worship guitar demo. Not enough vids with this context
V-neck and a tele, this really was 2014 lol. Great video, learned a lot!

Excellent demo!
Great stuff and very generous!
Why didn’t you turn the light on the display. Ugh. Great video but I can’t tell the set ups in your display.
Parabéns cara, ficou ótimo o vídeo e me ajudou muito. Obrigado. Abração.
You have to read the manual to see what the dd20, will do or can do. I use.the dual mode a lot.
wow I am still trying to figure out how to use my DD-20 ...this thing is hard to figure out

have i bought the dd20 from you just yesterday? surely you look like him 😂
Good demo. What amp were you using? cleans sounded lovely.
Right now, I use a Visual Sound, Dual Tap Delay. I'm pretty satisfied with it. Would you say that this pedal is better?

@@javiceres Well that was nice and informative; thank you!
how do you get the tap tempo to read 100 instead of550
one question about the tap tempo, i need sync all the presets with the same time. how can i do this? this pedal work with a external clock generator?

Anthony Pieters Yes, but nobody seems to know that the Nova Delay is not a christian delay!
+theoneandonlymf it's not??
Dang...

Hi, could you tell me how do you get that overdrive/distortion tone?
That's just the amp. It's a vox ac30
+worshipartistry thanks! :)
settings for a good slapback echo?
David Burleigh I found dual is ok but analog is my one-to.
So. I'm on my worship team and I need a delay pedal. Would you recommend this? Or the dd7?
Thanks!
Get a TimeLine or Tc Electronic Nova Delay!

For the money the DD20 is amazing. I got mine for $130 and it's pretty versatile
does anyone know to keep the backlight on?
press the "tap" and "tempo" button at the same time! :)
talk too much
