The BOSS DD-500 is an extremely versatile, powerful, yet simple to use delay pedal. It's been my main delay on my board, and it has become my all time favorite delay.

For a couple months I had no reverb pedal, and still got tons of compliments on how huge my tone sounded and little did they know I was running (A)/(B)

I, too, was a DD-20 devotee for the last decade, and I, too, have upgraded to the DD-500. …very recently - I haven’t even plugged it in to my pedalboard yet.

Hey Brian hey guys happy Christmas I’ve got the DD-500 and I’ve had the pedal for about 6 months and I can say that it’s one of my favorite delay pedals I’ve ever owned. The simplicity of setting each delay preset to the amazing sounds I would highly recommend this pedal for all level of playing. Thanks Brian for the pack I’ll be sure to check it out. Nice pedalboard. I love my DD-500. I am required to reproduce many different delay-sounds: classic rock, pop, r&b, and reggae-dub. You just need to spend-the-time: Learning it's amazing capabilities. I agree with you 100% - This pedal can do it all. Enjoyed your informative video. oNe LovE from NYC

I love mine. Got it because, at the time I couldn't find a DD-20 but local shop had the DD-500, and I was on a short timeframe to get a programable delay. Have been super happy with it ever since and there's nothing I wish it could do that it doesn't do and do easily.

Im glad that the DD-500 got some love. It was my first delay and it was great, other than that it was just a little bit too much for me coming from no pedal experience at that time. Sounds great btw!

For anyone in a very tight budget, I highly recommend the Zoom g3. You can stack up to 6 delays! Seriously. So the unit has many delays types, reverb, etc. But I use it mostly for delay, reverb and some pitch delays for ambient swells. It's able to save tones of presets so that's covered. I currently use it on my worship pedalboard and always get people asking how I got that modulated Delay tone! Well, it's been a huge blessing for me. But this new Unit being reviewed it's the ultimate if you have the budget for it. For me Zoom G3 is amazingly affordable.

This is great. I love my DD-500 but this is way more dialed in than I have mine. May end up picking up this pack. Has anyone done anything similar with the RV-500?
I’m like a Boss wizard! I’ve grown up with a few units! I can still programme a Boss SE-70 :) just ordered a DD-500 :) for modern stuff, I’ve gone from a DD-8, DD-200 to the DD-500, reasons is because I wanted more depth to programme experimental stuff :) the DD-8 and DD-200 are great pedals!! For old school, Boss DD-2 and DSD-2 are worth looking at

Sounds good! Thanks really good demo. I was about to get DD-8, then I saw this at $150, surprisingly just $25 more than the DD-8 in shop near me, so I just grabbed quickly instead of DD8, without checking further for reviews 😂 I hope it’s not an impulsive buy haha.. I already have an Eventide Blackhole and just looking for delay to pair with to learn play some CCM genre.
Man you forgot to mention the awesome CHORUS they have programmed in there too! I use it a lot in my setup in lieu of a standalone chorus pedal! 💪🏻

I've been looking for a new delay pedal. I know everyone raves about the Timeline but the price is ridiculous. What would you say about the DD-200? I like the DD-500 but I'm not one that likes to deep dive a program sounds. I usually edit on the fly when playing. Would your presets work with the DD-200 as well?

Hey Brian! Do you know how to program the helix/HX to send a patch change or preset up/down using command center? Maybe a video I haven’t seen yet? Trying to get a snapshot footswitch on an HX XL to simultaneously change the preset (up preferably, e.g. 1A to 1B etc) I’ve tried with little success. Thanks for any help!

I like how you have the MC8 setup in this video with toggling and blinking to show when presets are active but can't seem to find the right message(s) to get this to work. Thanks!

I bought the dd500 presets, but there is something that I think is not configured in my pedal and it is a letter "M" that appears next to the preset tempo, in my case this "♩" appears. It is some configuration that I have wrong, it would be great if you help me. Greetings from Colombia.
I have a question regarding playing live worship music with a delay needing specific tempo with an in-ear click track. My question is, even though you can know exactly what BPM the song is going to be, and set up your patch exactly how you want it with the correct BPM, when the click starts, and your pedal is on it doesn’t always time up with when leader starts click tracks. Is tapping the tempo the only way to get it synced up?
I was in between this delay and the walrus D1. I ended up going with the D1 which is great but I think this one would have been a slightly better fit for me.
Can this be set to have the ability to use A, B, and C as presets, with the ability to use 2-3 at the same time, and also be able to bank up and down? I want to be able to use A and C, but bank up real quick to get to a new patch in A.

By increasing the mix up, I assume you mean effect level? The dd500 does not have a mix level but a separate dry and effects level.
Brian, what is the size of your creation board?
Can you pre-save delays? so between tracks I can quickly switch to a specific delay and it'll exactly as I want it. It's a pain manually tweaking knobs between songs mid set on my current pedal
You defo can. I use midi to switch between different presets, often quite a few presets per song!
How well do these presets transfer to acoustic guitar?
What cable can I use for conect to the power?
Will it do Volume swells? I’m guessing that’s what the slow attack is, but I can’t find a demo of it.
Yes, and they are very nice. Just start with the Preset's ( if you are not comfortable with programming ) and Tweak to taste, to familiarize-yourself with: exactly-what each parameter does.

Aside from tc triple delay this is one of the few mega delay that could do parallel delay.
