This dude is the best. Knows his stuff and does the research to back it up! Has an answer for why he does everything even his daggum shoelaces! This is the guy I want on my side!! Keep up the great work, you the man
On the topic of light usage. We train to draw our guns fast but in many cases you'll need to draw your handheld light, fast, first, in order to confirm a problem that requires your pistol. A fast light that has stress-proof function, is as important as those super cool one second draws from concealment. What's great about your handheld light is you get many repetitions through your daily life, just using the light for every day tasks. Just be sure to change batteries before they go dead, not after.
Good lesson, sir. I completely understand the sentiment that as a LEO letting the bad guy go is completely counterintuitive to what you are/were taught and how you are/were trained. Excellent lesson. Thank you for the video!
When I started getting into active killer training it drove me nuts to realize that I had to stop at the door and let the bad guy go for my own safety.
Have you thought about possibly installing an extended barrel? Perhaps a 6 inch ported barrel? Added FPS and energy and maybe a tad bit more recoil mitigation do to the ports. I want to do this with a Glock 10mm.
As cops we are trained to chase them down and stop them. Now, as a private citizen, I now realize I must stop at the door, or I could accidentally be gunned down by a well meaning good guy. Imagine how it would wreck your life for ever by knowing that you gunned down a fellow good guy all because he wasn't aware that heading out the door after the bad guy is a bad idea.
Thanks for another GS17 video - really like your concept and get excited every time I see a new video's thumbnail with the GS17 in it! My question: do you still prefer the GS17 over Micro Roni and KPOS Scout? Why? Could you do a short comparison with your thoughts? Please!
Yeah I really dig this little weapon. Yes I still prefer it over anything else. The optic mounted directly to the slide is what makes the difference. The accuracy of this weapon is impressive. It's a very reflexive weapon in that you basically look at where you want the round to go and just pull the trigger.
Solid info. I have a weapon light on mine. The big green LED streamlight. Mine is more of a Active Rooter. I carry along for added firepower and hog hunts. 👍😂🇺🇸
good morning, sir. I have used the stock fab, and now i own micro roni and kpos scout, video (in Italian) on my channel. I will want ask You: because more accurate? I have good accuracy whit my g17/micro roni and g19 / Kpos scout. I live in Italy, no NFA rules, I own m roni and kposc scout whit traditional folding stock. I tried in 2013 the stock fab on g17 whit folding grip under frame like you, good, but to me seems not too rigid. Surely more compact than micro roni or kpos scout. And not good alignement for the iron sight , for me. I tried also the scope mount Fab but not good choice poor alignement of red dot not stable. Sorry for my bad english, I don't understand spoken english too well. On my channel youtube were are videos about glock whit such accessories: ua-cam.com/channels/5LbS7Q6mEnnhLVzOCSsIxg.html?view_as=subscriber
You made some great points. Especially not giving chase. However in a closed active shooter situation where egress is at best a shit show...giving chase to finish a kill is a judgement call, I believe.
I hear you. Keep in mind that this is a judgment call that only you can make for yourself. Based on my training, research, and experience as a police officer, and now as a Tier 1 Citizen; I have a unique angle on this subject matter which is why I am lead to make this choice for myself.
Given the subject Abner, and knowing you are busy, what have you done moving forward on your subgun rig, I remember the video and what you presented with your ideas on the SG rig and how well thought out it was, any progress or plans for it? Still waiting and as always appreciate your videos...
It's great and it's also a product that this one pioneered the way for. More and more people are beginning to see that small PDW's are the wave of the future. The downside of the USW is that it doesn't feed off the same mags as my EDC weapon does. That is why I don't look at it past an appreciation for what a fine weapon it is. I do not want to contend with a weapon that can't fuel off the same mags I already have on me in abundance.
I hear ya on the mags, but this thing seems like it'll be worth the investment in new mags. Its only 10" overall length, and the optic doesn't move with the slide. I'm picking it up at my ffl tomorrow and cant wait! Going to sbr it and in my state we can even conceal carry sbrs. Really seems like the perfect ccw to me =)

This is also why I like systems like the Micro Roni brace. It really works well with their newer extended brace. This thing has a light attachment and can be assembled in a snap. Sure, it costs me as much as another pistol, but I don't believe there's a price for defending your life. There's moderation, but I don't want to go cheap. Sure I can use a Fenix light, but Surefire is better. Sure I can use a holosun, but Aimpoint is better. This matters to me. Not because the gear can be expensive, but the "right gear" has no price limit A newer system called the FCU made for the SIG P320 slide may also be viable if you carry a P320
B&T now has a USW for the P320 that is brilliant! This video is in German. The guy presenting it is a sharp dude, I've talked with him various times while at SHOT. Bear with it even if you don't speak German, you'll get the gist of what he's presenting just from the visuals. ua-cam.com/video/CUhO21LAz9g/v-deo.html
Oh heck yeah! I'm getting one of those very soon. That thing is a brilliant idea. The only thing that it lacks is the ability to create a safety like this thing does but that's as simple as keeping the weapon inside of a small bag if you're using the front accessory adapter. If you're not using that you can always keep it in the holster that is designed for it. I think it's a great idea.
I have a question about the front picatinny pistol grip, do you really need it for an accurate shot placement? I would think that with the normal two handed grip on the Glock 17 and the elbows held tight into your body would give you better stability. Furthermore, you mentioned that the picatinny pistol grips acts as trigger safety, I agree but if the weapon is carried and stored in a dedicated carry device, the chances of it going off is mote. I only replaced the trigger connector with the Zev Pro connector and upgraded safety plunger with the Lightning Strike Titanium Safety Plunger on my Glock 17 Gen III per your recommendation and everything else is stock. Trigger is better but not like my Timney Trigger on my bolt rifle; LOL. Lastly, when are you going to make a video on how to install Fab Stock onto the Glock 17 Gen III since my FFL dealer says you always have to file them down because they never fit right out of the box and are too big to fit into the grip plug. You said, they way you did it was freeze the stock and take a heat gun to the grip plug and then insert the frozen stock into the grip plug and both units will form to each other. I'm kinda nervous about melting my Glock 17 into a plastic blob and changing the geometry of the pistol grip since your forming the pistol grip to the Fab stock insert size which should be the other way around, IMHO. Mahalo
I agree with you that we need to drop the NFA but, unfortunately I don't think that it's ever going to happen. And I sure as hell doubt that the NRA will ever be the ones that actually get it done! Sorry but I've really come to believe that the NRA could give a crap less about our firearms rights and more about filling the pockets of the big shots in charge. JMHO!!!
Wow, I never thought of it like that... That pursuing would make them mistake me as the bad guy. That's life saving advice right there! One question... What's the advantage of the microroni over the gs17? The gs17 is more accurate and possibly lighter (& cheaper?)
I grew up in a small town and almost everyone had a rifle in the back window. It was nothing to carry a loaded gun into the school and leave it with last period teacher to go hunting after school. There were no problems with anything.
Yes that configuration is an SBR, big deal give the Feds their $200 bucks for the tax stamp, and move on, if that is what you need for your security, and better shot placement in a open mall in an active shooter situation then give the Feds their cash, $200 Buck won’t make you, or break you.
I enjoy your videos, they are quite informative. I was to sbr a perfectly good Glock 17L, then thought HELL NO!!!!! I had been looking for this blue label puppy too long only to turn it into something I can only use as a rifle?? That is why I ordered an Extar EP9 extarusa.com/ep9.htm. This pistol only $420. That is way cheaper than an sbr Glock 17L. It has a brace and I can put a light on it.......the down side it looks so badass it would the user stand out...........may be a little NAA .22 might be better

Just curious manufacturer of your foregrip and length of your lanyard rope (home spun or also brand name?)
I believe the fore grip is the FGG-K and the sling is a length of bungee that I made into a sling.
One of the best gun channel on UA-cam. Thank for all your suggestions.
Sir you give some of the very best common sense advice on the web. Thanks very much, you may save someone’s life.

Yeah that was a painful lesson for me too. You're blessed if you're able to learn these things under fire from airsoft pellets…
Great video. Thank you for always sharing knowledge. I would want to chase down the active shooter as well so you just changed my perspective lol
Excellent and thought provoking info as usual.
You could use the Harris technique in conjunction with your GS17 if need be
Correct.

the fab stock is avaible only for 3 gen glock, i know
Another good video! Always giving us something to think about.
Is this stock compatible with Gen 5 Glocks, namely the Glock 45?
No it is not.
My question is, how can you carry this configuration comfortably in a way that would justify not already just using an actual sbr setup?
This is an SBR. This is smaller than any AR-15 could ever hope to be.
If I chose to carry an sbr I suppose I would prefer an FN P90.
Solid info. I have a weapon light on mine. The big green LED streamlight. Mine is more of a

Where are those stocks sold? In your opinion is what you have there better value than a g17 in a Micro Roni Stabilizer?
They are sold at Botach Tactical. Yes it's more accurate than the Micro RONI.

Where do i buy this?
You'll have to web search it. I used to buy them locally but that source has dried up.

I'll do my best to get one and do that for you guys.
What is your current holster with the light?
You need to start selling those but with a tailhook on the back instead of a stock
You aint kidding!
Have you looked into the new brace by Flux Defense as an alternative method of constructing a similar platform? Might be of interest to you

Even better to use a pistol that can easily separate from the brace and be holstered. One shot brace and a holstered pistol.
Incorrect! The idea that one has the time to either assemble or disassemble a weapon "system" is a notion pushed by those selling a product.
Realy right
