Snake plants are rugged. You could have divided that clump of plants into several separate plants, removed all the soil and trimmed the roots aggressively, and it all would've turned out just fine. That said, what you did was just fine, too! 😃You'll just end up with the plant(s) outgrowing the new pot faster as they rapidly reproduce to fill the space.
Hello! I'm a new plant mom and I purchased my first snake plant from Walmart yesterday. I came to UA-cam to get my plant education and this video was recommended. I'm so glad I found you and others that can help school me on this plant therapy journey that I'm embarking upon. Thank you for sharing this how-to, I truly appreciate it!
@@maplejubilee 💛 Thank you for replying, Marsha! I love your channel and subscribed yesterday. Thank you putting out valuable content. I am manifesting starting my own channel in the near future. 🦋
Nichelle - congratulations on your first snake plant!!!! You’re gonna love it! Keep us posted!!!! Just remember to let it dry completely before watering! Welcome to the plant rabbit hole! 😂 🌱🪴🎍🌵🌻
You did a great job! I just repotted a snake plant today and then watched your video. The only difference was I broke mine up into several smaller plants! Loved it!❤❤❤
I love your energy!!! You could definitely have at least 3 new free Snake Plants from that one. You're plant is very healthy. Thanks for sharing be BLESSED 🖤
I’m new to house plants and I’m loving it!!! So glad I found you I needed another plant mom friend!! You are Amazing …I pray you know that … your energy and light contagious , glad I found u!!! I hope there is more plant content I have a few plants in my collection… I have a night owl snake plant with a little baby poping up So excited
I just saw this video, so you’re probably repotting it again! 😂. Great job!!! I love that you kept all the plants together instead of separating them! The new pot makes it look elegant!!! Thank you so much! Give us an update!!!! Subbed!
Sitting on my front porch looking at the mountain of things I got to re-pot my new jade's and a snake plant. I'm so lost 😭🙄. So I did what any dazed and confused girl would do ~ got UA-cam involved! You're the one that came to my rescue so thank you for your help and wish this beautiful snake plant lots of luck!! 😀 (I'm worried about the pot being too tall but it's a tall plant. We'll see! Thank you!!)
I'm glad I found you! I'm a plant lady who loves plants. I noticed mine was growing so I decided to go to youtube and it's definitely time to re-pot mine. Going to start asap
I know I'm super late but I'm a fairly new plant mom and have had my plants for a year and a half now so theyre definitely long over due for a repot but I wasn't sure where to start ( silly as that may seem ) 😅 Today I got the urge to get it done and this has helped a lot, also the comments 🤓 so thank youu and your followers 🙃
Hi there! I am glad to hear this video helped. I actually just repotted my monstera plant a month ago and I filmed that process too. I'll be uploading that video soon💛
Wow that is a beautiful draecena (prev. sanseveria) trifaciata. Looks like a black coral? I LOVE when it has a ton of pups! By the way they do say to loosen the root ball slightly just to encourage it to go downwards instead of circling itself more. Or you can be like me and I'm just super aggressive and like to get rid of old soil because I like to think of it as getting rid of any pests that might be living in there, and I also like to take a look at the roots to ensure there's no root rot happening. Oh and the new soil will always sink so you will definitely have quite a bit of room if you want to top up with more potting mix. I also like to add perlite to my potting mix and cacti mix. 😊
Thank you so much Jasmine for all the tips and insight. I think I'm going to get rid of all the old soil on my next plant that I repot. Any tips for getting rid of these gnats??
@@maplejubilee bottom water instead of regular top watering! I also use mosquito bits or mosquito dunks broken up and put in a 2 L bottle of water, it's supposedly kills the eggs and larvae. I even use sticky traps! But honestly the only way that I've actually gotten rid 100% of fungus gnats is transferring all my plants to hydroton (aka LECA) 😁😁😁 I hate bugs but love plants so much!!
yea i am about to do that right now (get rid of old soil) i noticed when I picked it up today, something like a gnat ran out. It was definitely not a spidermite coulda been an aphid. NO CLUE...just know that its gettin repotted today! haha
Your snake plant has so much new growth! How long have you had this plant? I've have a snake plant for almost 2 years and I'm just starting to get new sprouts. I wonder if it's cos I forget to water it every two weeks... 🧐 thanks for the video!! Much appreciated!
Oh wow! I've only had it for 2 months. Some of the new growth was already there when I purchased it. I just got lucky and found a really good one. And I don't think it's because you forgot to water it. Snake plants are actually pretty easy going and don't need a lot of water. Every 3 weeks will usually be fine too.
Hello, Sunshine 💫🙋♀️Great video 👍I wish I'd have more time to watch your videos...Solution: I need to make the time. Your spirit brightens my day...🥰Xo
I wish I saw this video before I replanted my rubber tree plant. I repotted it and I think I killed it. 😢. I have that plant for @10 years. I found out the hard way that my plants thrive when I don't fuss with them. So now I water and remove the dry leaves.
Ohhh no!! That breaks my heart😔 I'm so sorry that happened. I am definitely trying not to do too much with mine. I knew the snake plant had to be repotted because they told me so at the plant nursery where I bought it. But the other ones I bought seem as if they will be fine for another year.

Aww thank you! I love mine. Super easy to maintain and I really like the size I got. Not too small and not too big...😊

Learned some great tips from you! Thanks! You can separate the roots gently with chopsticks.
Yes! I've found my people!
I love ❤️ my snake plants. I water my babies like once a month, and they love me, and I love them 💕

Yea the smaller ones you can divide them and pot them a in a smaller pot or grab all the small ones and group them all together in a pot
Thx for the encouragement to replant for the first time!! Great video!
Watching your video as I'm new to house plants too and this is helping me to replant the ones I just bought great job thanks

Very informative and helpful video!
Beautiful snake plant. It's been awhile since you put plant in a bigger pot. Can we see a picture of what she looks like now. Have a blessed day.
Snake plants 😊 don't need a lot of water, great job 👍
Love this video ! I need to repot mines thanks for the tips
You're welcome!😊
Hey Marsha, love this! Just wondering, how is your snakeplant doing by now? I need to do mine, but I'm worried it will shock it.

That is 3 or 4 plants in 1. It looks so healthy and beautiful. Can we get an update?
Very nice
Hi! Question, can you use just cactus soil?
Yes
Thank you for the tips on this! I have a plant probably 3-4x larger than yours and the pot might be too big :(
Can we get an update on your snake plant please. Ty for this video.
I totally agree!! I got a snake plant today and need all the help I can get 😄
Will do!💛

I only water my Snake Plant once a month. I had to repot it myself.
I know this sounds weird but someone told me if you add your own plant hair for nutrients and bottom water is this true ? I need to repot soon !
Hi there. I've never heard of this before.
