what is the difference between the first and second group? how can you know where to put the words? is it something Russians learn from childhood? thanks
Man, so concise and to the point. I mean, when I first learned this years ago, it wasn't that difficult. It's just that I had to cross reference a few different books and such to really nail it down. But you lay it all out and explain it really well in one short, sweet video! This would've been nice to have back then :p
"If you do not want to write, you do not have to memorize that the verbs играешь and стоишь are written with a different ending". That is perfect. On the other hand, if you do not want to speak, you do not have to memorize that the endings are pronounced almost the same. :o)
In the second conjugation gruop will always the suffixes be stressed, like "stoYU", "govorYU"? Different from "chiTAyu" "krasNYEyu" "iGRAyu"? Or is just coincidence?
Maybe cultural/food videos? I just made borscht, and personally, it's not bad - although I don't LOVE eating that red vegetable (beets). I read something about maslenitsa, and all I want to eat now is butter and blinchiki when I think about it.
So стоать - to stand and стоить - to cost are stressed on different syllables. But стоать is 2nd conjugation BUT стоить is first conjugation wi the accent on the о. Is this an exception? Or how and why is this so?
First, it would be стоять and стоить. To the point, stress doesn’t directly have anything to do with its conjugation class, and both of them are considered to be 2nd conjugation anyways.
Your video starts explaining that in Russian several forms of the tense do not exist. Ok, why didn't you give us examples of what to do when we say them in English and how to say them in Russian since those tenses are missing.
I remember memorizing the conjugations during my Russian studies. It was not so difficult, and became second nature to us. it is now running in my blood. Thanks for this video.
Watched this video for the first time today and I am bummed no one tried your challenge at the end ... But I just gave it an honest effort with Спать and I must have messed something up because none of these are words. Don't worry I have been studying Russian on my own for a long time and you make awesome videos - I just get confused when people technically equate English with Russian - because I never had a college education in English.... I must have misunderstood the principle teaching in this video - it sounded like: " In Russian, verbs happening in present tense have these endings, and you change the ending in these same ways each time for these verbs when they are used in their various ways- depending on the initial verb's ending..." ... well... I'll come back and watch this video again. Thanks Fedor!
Kracnee Malchik! I like your suggestion about putting in long term memory. So just by repeating the word two weeks later will do that? I think we should be more familiar with the rules, then we can conjugate any word
Спать Я спаю Ты спаешь Вы спаете Мы спаем Они спают Он/она/оно спает Correct? : ) Thanks for this lesson! I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to take one of your lessons and suddenly understand SO much I was confused about.
I tuoi corsi in generale sono molto interessanti, in questo caso però non ho capito niente. Solitamente gli esempi di coniugazioni si fanno usando in ordine: IO TU EGLI NOI VOI ESSI Nei due verbi di esempio invece hai usato un ordine incomprensibile che rende inutile il tuo filmato 😠
If anyone is watching in 2019, does Бог оченЬ любит тебя sound correct? I'm using a He conjugation for God and the informal you. I'm not sure if there's more than one Russian love verb (the Greek Bible has about four different "love" verbs). Also, when I learned Spanish, I remember that he, she, and you (third person formal) used the same ending when you conjugated a verb. In Russian, it looks like the formal version of you is a different ending than he or she.
Russian does the same as French: tu=ты, vous=вы. The Spanish form corresponding to вы is vosotros, but that's always informal plural. Some dialects use vos with a singular referent, but the formal usted(es) taking a third-person verb doesn't correspond to anything in French or Russian.
Indeed it is. For the first person singular, a liquid consonant appears there in order to make pronunciation easier. So it's gonna be "Я люблю" But it goes away after that -> ты любишь, он любит, мы любим...
Я скажу Ты скажешь Он скажет Мы скажем Вы скажете Они скажут But, as ammm754321 said, this word describes the action, that will be made in the future, it's a little bit different situation and the rule from video can be applied to говорить.
"Я сказаю Ты сказаешь Он сказает Мы сказаем Вы сказаете Они сказают " all of these are wrong. But this is a really complicated case, so don't get discouraged! ;)
FIB USA, but currently doing Russian on top of Turkic languages is proving to be too difficult. I speak in Turkish, Spanish, Uzbek and Dutch, but now I want to focus on getting those languages to C1 from there B intermediate status. Turkish is my only language to reach C1 I got Uzbek and Spanish to B but my Dutch is A2, though I haven’t been into it for too long
FIB evet, iki hafta sonra Antalya’ya gideceğim. Gittikten sonra, başka Türkiye’nin bölgelerine gitmek istiyorum, ama hangilerine bilmiyorum. Çok heyecanlıyım ya. Antalya, Kayseri, Ankara, İstanbul ve Bursa’da arkadaşlarım varmış, böyle çok iyi olacaktır. Arkadaşlarımla denize dağlara gidebiliriz. Türkiye’nin doğası için çok beğenecekmişim .
I'm from Russia, so I couldn't pass up your comment. You almost completed the task, but you still made a few mistakes. The first mistake was misspelling the word "Она" (She) Your second mistake: The word "любить" has the root of the word "люб", so the letter "и" in the word "любиат" was superfluous. Correct spelling: Они любят (root "люб" + suffix "ят")
Your last question is difficult to answer, as it concerns the topic of alternating consonants at the root of a word, which includes a set of rules that would be difficult for me with a low level of English to write. Therefore, I advise you to find the rules for writing alternating consonants at the root of a word on the Internet.

Russian does the same as French: tu=ты, vous=вы. The Spanish form corresponding to вы is vosotros, but that's always informal plural. Some dialects use vos with a singular referent, but the formal usted(es) taking a third-person verb doesn't correspond to anything in French or Russian.
