I bought mine a few months ago. Not easy to find new and paid over $600 for it. I prefer the positive display. I have wanted to get a titanium G-Shock but really can’t justify spending sooooo much more money. So, like you, I bought a bracelet for a B5000GD-1 and put it on my B5000G-1 and I absolutely love it. Thanks for the video.
Great vid! Cinematographer Raoul Coutard used natural light in several films he worked on - not sure if it was coincidence that the politic thriller, “Z” looked a lot like Godard’s “Pierrot le fou” because both directors wanted him to minimize artificial lighting or not. I agree - watches look great in natural light. Fluorescent lighting makes everything look bad. I just got the Stealth Wealth (GMWB5000TB1) because I love titanium and the Square is my favorite watch - from the colorful JDM collaborations to the older Screwbacks that know how to get the most out of a single battery.
Probably the best B5000. Sadly, not available to buy any more. Hope Casio will re-issue the black/dark half-metal B5000 with positive display on a resin strap.
Beautiful piece, love the half metal factor to the classic sqaure look. However, does it scratched easily? Would the silver party beneath the black coating expose upon scratch?
light scratches I don't think expose the base stainless steel metal but perhaps a deep scratch would. I can't actually see any scratches on mine at the moment.
Thanks for the prompt reply! I am struggling hard between this beautiful piece and the GW-5000U. I actually like this half-metal beauty more, but i worry it would be easily scratched and look too worn after 1 or 2 years.
@@kennyng8851 both are very good... Umm, that is a tough one as the GW-5000U is also very good. The B5000G has Bluetooth and the screen is a little better. If I had to chose I would go B5000G... But also, the GW-5000U looks fantastic on the Combi Bracelet.. But you'd have to look for the bracelet.
Got a brand new piece today, absolutely love it! Thank you! But i just realized this model is discontinued, struggling if I should use it or keep it as a collection
which part of the watch are you wanting to replace? The original B5000G-1 is no longer available but I imagine if you really were looking for one you could find on the grey market.
I did think that perhaps Casio would introduce sapphire on the GMW range, but perhaps they won't as it seems to be used on only their more expensive models.
It does look good, and I like its monochromatic colorway, but imho it doesn't justify the price. As I understand, it costs around €450, which is about €300 more expensive than the resin version GW-B5600, with exactly the same set of functions. So, for the same money, if I'd want a more classy looking watch, I'd rather go with a basic Oceanus model. Btw, I see you like G-shocks... that's enough for me to subscribe. Keep it up.
@@masterwatch Module 3459 is used in metal versions and 3461 in resin versions. There are no differences in functions, everything is the same... mb6, BT, solar... and they use the same manual guide. IIRC the only difference is that 3459 is connected to a different type of LCD display. Tho they still look the same. Btw, some resin GW-B5600 models use so called combo bracelet. It's made of hard plastic links, and it's much better and more comfortable to wear than any classic silicone or a metal bracelet. Maybe you should order one and try it on your GMW-B5000G.
Rubber straps are no substitute for a decent metal bracelet. Rubber and polymer straps can cause skin problems with extended wear while Titanium and stainless steel are hypoallergenic.
I find I do like both. At times I prefer a bracelet and other times the rubber is definitely more practical. Perhaps the best is a watch that suits both so you have the option.

doesn't it look great and a perfect colour match with the B5000GD bracelet. I haven't taken the bracelet off since I fitted it.
where did you buy it?
Can I congratulate you on bringing these watches to life.
I'm now the proud owner of a MRG-B5000B "Darth Maul" 😂
aren't they cool. very pleased to hear.
The TFC is very appealing but that b5000G looks nice too. The price is pretty reasonable.
I have a video of this on the B5000GD bracelet soon compared to the TFC. Great watches.

the morning light is probably best I am finding.

thanks for the time. excellent review
Thank you, it is a great watch and I do wear it.
Arguably be the perfect ⌚ ..👍
These really are nice watches and if you like Squares. I do like the rubber straps on these.
where i can fine string replacement??

The perfect gshock for me- execpt the sapphire
I did think that perhaps Casio would introduce sapphire on the GMW range, but perhaps they won't as it seems to be used on only their more expensive models.
People are complaining about cracked sapphire crystal,so I don't think it's the best idea to put sapphire on a g shock

yes I do need to see the module with Bluetooth and Multiband 6, this does look great value.

The combi won’t fit.
@@e28forever30 ah yes you are right the Combi does not fit on the GMW-5000 Full-metals but it does fit on the GW-5000 but it is a tight fitting.
