Every month I give myself the task of contacting three long-distance friends/family members, hanging out with six local friends, reaching out to two new people I want to get to know, and writing to my oldest friend/family member (because they are more likely to treasure actual letters etc.).
"Find that high-leverage skill where you are uncovering gold in a couple of hours" - that hit me hard! I am 27 right now and I have hustled around jobs to know that startups are where my true calling is. Can't thank you enough for sharing these priceless videos and realistic, actionable insights Ali! Feels great to reflect on these ideas to uncover my own capabilities and plan my life ahead.
"A lot of gains in a personal life can be found through treating it like a business and a lot of gains in business can be found through treating it more personally."
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
@marjoriec.larson581 Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years.
'Never let your quest for more distract you from the beauty of enough' -- wow! what a line to end the conversation, definitely enjoyed and learn so much on this episode.
In understand what he means to enjoy the journey and not wait until your retirement to do the things you want to do. But to say at 70 your probably going to be stuck at home with no energy is a bit much, bit off hand and pessimistic.
Unfortunately thats the reality for the majority of people over 70 now. Most did not take good care of their health and finances due to living a life of short term gratifications. If you are an exception then thats awesome, but its not the case for many others.
I all ready went half of it on Spotify. Im enjoying how this kind of content changes my mindset as a entrepreneur and a content creator. Its hard grow in a niche like cardmagic. But Im wanna be the owner of my time 🔥
Our parents did this as we grew up, and it involved our entire family. It started and ended with prayer. In between was a lecture of some sort about life, education, God, responsibility, and how to carry ourselves in public.
I realized as the podcast progress that I am not the target (social economic class) audience for this content... Great Content for individuals with the capital to engage in these recommended courses of action with elegance, excellence, and ease... It will takes some time and effort to reach the starting point to leverage this information... I'll disregard his time in the future worth less than time now comment until I reach the starting point...
I dont watch many of Ali 's videos but this was the best one I've seen. Goes quite deep into an individual's core motivation and how to plan from that. Great interview choice with Sahil Bloom! Nice deep dive!
One of the best podcasts that I have ever listened to and it was really worth watching it and spending some time on Thank you so much for making this kind of really helpful, momentous and advantageous stuff up there.
Honestly, I adored the podcast, yet I'm even more astounded by your ads. Your skill in promoting Huel is truly extraordinary. Can it be found in the USA?
He's a bit ageist there. 35 vs 55 year old. It depends what your health is like. The 55 year old might not want to do what the 35 year old wants to do. They are different life stages.
But that's also the point. The experiences won't be the same and for most people that age it's also because they aren't capable of the same things health and responsibility wise
@@bobbilly87 He's implying that the 35 year old is enjoying the trip more. Also he assumes that all 35 year olds are the same and want to do the same things on a year abroad, it's a bit reductive.
Thanks for the interview - I really related to the content. @40:00 on taking the damn one-year trip - hell yeah do it. And also it reminds me of Die with Zero by Bill Perkins!
here in Argentina people meet with their parents about once a week or every two weeks. Some people more, some less, but once a year sound pretty weird like come on man they raised you, don't you miss them the rest of the year??
This guys dad is a Harvard professor, so he went to Stanford and got a job in private equity and started posting on twitter, I dont understand how he actually has value other than people giving him attention because they want to be in the position he was born into

@marjoriec.larson581 Having a counsellor is essential for portfolio diversification. My advisor ASHLEY AIRAGAHI who is easily searchable.

He is only 32 so even though he is a smart man his perspective is a bit limited. At 32, 70 seems very far away.

Very wise and eloquent. Sahil crystallizes and distills into beautiful language. Well done

Yes, they are young and economically privileged. I like Ali's concept of economic confidence.
what only 65 comments, with such a good podcast, people are surely missing out by scrolling everywhere

Travelling is better at 35 than 55? Really? Ageism sucks. Other than that really enjoyed the content
Such a beautiful conversation, thanks for sharing!
Wise words from Sahil regarding spending time with parents.

He is only 32 and doesn't really know the reality of a lot of 55 year olds. Many 55 year olds are energetic and vital.
@@fibbs6533 I agree. If you look after yourself of course. My mother who is 79 joined me for 10 miles of a 16 mile walk I went on and had no problems.
Ali, can you link up the Telegram group? I can’t find info for it anywhere
Sahil rocks 🙌
