Her having a "normal amount of rage" is to be expected. Bruce Banner witnessed his abusive father beating his mother to death when he was a little kid. The Hulk was essentially born in that moment. The Hulk is that child, needing to be "The Strongest One There Is" so that no one can hurt him or the people he loves again. That's part of why the Hulk won't come out after Thanos no-sells him: if he can't protect his friends, what use is The Hulk? He was ashamed.
Bruce Banner had a lot of trouble integrating The Hulk and Banner because he had a nascent Multiple Personality Disorder issue going on, which the gamma mutation essentially externalized. Jennifer had a much better childhood, no "decade of unaddressed trauma," and thus a much narrower gap between She-Hulk and Jennifer. She-Hulk is basically what Jennifer represses, same as Hulk is what Banner represses, but she represses a desire to be free to act and express herself without fear of reprisal, and he represses pain and guilt over powerlessness and a metric ass-load of bottled-up anger.
So, yeah, just a "normal amount of rage".
Well, according to the dialogue, she has lived with fear and anger all her life, you know, cause she’s a woman. LOL

@@MyUniqueVibe Not sure why it would be sorry for someone to live their life without fear and anger. Was under the impression that’s supposed to be a good thing. There are times in life when one can be scared, or angry. That doesn’t mean you live your life that way. Lastly, it’s called strength of character, not a super power.
@@aldridkg her actual comics story with trask basically making her out to be lynched echoes this, as she is shot, harassed and harangued bc she’s seen as an easy target and doubly so because she’s a woman. the show went too comical and basically just copped out of both her and hulks storyline. also she used to help hulk after he got beat up that’s why they’re so close and they used to study toghether.
it's kind of sad how Hulk is so isolated...between losing Stark and Natasha...you can see how lonely he is and trying to keep his cousin around.

It wasn't just those, it's also the rest of his family being completely disinterested in him. Jen references it with all her projecting comments and Bruce's mentions of it.

You completely missed that, when professor Hulk was holding back you could see that he was losing his ability to maintain higher function as he got angrier. It was a clear indicator that that the savage Hulk is trying to break out and that he can still lose control with a big helping of foreshadowing!

I only need your strength, healing abilities, and anything exploitable that is to their benefit to make note of something, they will exploit it... but all the rest, your personality, your home (Sakaar), your mind, your everything is disposable but we're doing it together. This isn't merged, this is Banners hubris. The real Hulk is being punished for the 2 years he (Bruce) was forced out (or locked-away so to speak). It's actually cruel to think about Banner (knowingly) exploiting the Hulk and caging him and making it sound like anything but revenge
When Bruce mentioned that there's a message from Sakar he will look deeper into later and also mentioned that he had to destroy Jennifer's blood because they don't want any further Hulks to be made, is what will surprise us at the end of this series, where Hulk will find out there are more of "them", which could be his "son" on Sakar.

Honestly, I hope they not only introduce Skaar, but eventually introduce both of his canon daughters. One he has with Monica Rapunicci (sp?), and the other he has with an amazon queen (Thundara) from an alternate future.
It's actually canon in the comics that Bruce has slept with more women than Tony has, and has a "conquest" that Tony will never hope to achieve, specifically Umar, the sister to the Dread Dormammu. Although it was her idea, she requested that Hulk, would sleep with her in return for helping the comics version of the Defenders (Hulk, Dr. Strange, Namor, and Silver Surfer) stop her brother from conquering our universe and absorbing it into the dark dimension. Hulk was so relaxed afterward that not only did he turn back into Banner, he couldn't transform into Hulk for an entire 24 hour period afterwards.
And that is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to the sheer number of lovers Banner/Hulk has had. But none he loved as much as Caeria, so no wonder he went on a world wrecking crusade when she died.

Hangovers actually make sense in a way. Yes they're highly resistant to the intoxicating effects, but hangovers are from the dehydration that alcohol causes. So unless their abilities include self hydration they'd still get hung over.

The best and my absolute favorite part of this episode was every moment between Jennifer and Bruce. Their back and forth is so believable. I buy that they're cousins.

The difference from the comics was that Jennifer only ever broke the fourth wall (or did any of her other hyper-sanity tricks of knowing she’s in a comic) when she was in Hulk form. John Byrne, the guy who introduced it, maintained that it was a super-power of the She-Hulk. (Similar to how Wade Wilson didn’t start doing it until after he became Deadpool.)

Yes but most of the story is being told in past tense so she was already she hulk or had gotten her powers when breaking the fourth wall, to be first we only got a minute of her before she got powers
That is cool and all, but if she breaks the fourth wall in her she-hulk form, then she remembers it in her human form. Makes it easier to make it that she can break the fourth wall in both her forms.

Shows how powerful hulk is, the original story with hulks arm was the infinity stones meant to give him permanent damage. But the creators have finally acknowledged hulks insane healing ability, even when banner is suppressing his hulk gamma powers his arm is still literally healed
It seemed more like they gave her that power because Bruce said that he took her blood and used it on himself to heal his arm

In reality based off his comic feats he should’ve already been completely healed without the need of her blood so they actually nerfed him and his healing abilities. And made her seem superior to him in atleast her healing factor.

I think "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" is also a "Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law" reference, though Harvey Birdman is also kind of a She-Hulk homage in terms of being a superhero who becomes an attorney (rather than an attorney who becomes a superhero). That's almost a fourth wall break inside a fourth wall break, and as Deadpool taught us, "That's like sixteen walls".

Definitely banner had a son on Sakaar. They put a lot of emphasis on his loneliness during that pilot.
Well technically she didn't drop the full F Bomb. However it was still funny. I think she got more of it out than Aunt May and Peter but definitely less than Deadpool and Logan. 🙂
The dick move they mentioned is a reference to the "dick move" Tony said when Hulk hit him from the back in Avengers Age of Ultron.

Yes, after 14 years of experience, they have really nailed the transformation sequences. The show has a fraction of the budget of the movies, yet the transformations were seamless.

Jen's First Speech resembles with Spider man's Famous Quote "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility".
I think the first time Jennifer changes after being cut and having Bruce’s blood enter her bloodstream, she actually is the full Hulk form and not the one we see through the episode, one because the grunts and roars were much more primal, and we don’t get to see her face without the distortion in the reflection of the car door. Also she directly quotes that she “can’t remember” what happened the first time she changed, which suggests she wasn’t in the driving seat.
I think we may see at the tail end of the series (possibly the final mid/end credits scene).
What I think the point they’re making about Jen’s ability to control herself reflected in how she has traversed life in the patriarchal system.
Overall great opener, but I put money on Jennifer has the primal Hulk in her and that’s when she’ll need to go back to Bruce for advice, but hopefully not before we see Bruce/Smart Hulk knock out a fully Hulked out Jennifer. 🤞🏽

The first thing I thought when I saw Bruce Banners inhibitor is that it looks a lot like Amadeus Cho wrist band as the "New" Hulk. This would be perfect timing for him to be introduced,he would be around 12-15 depending on if Dr was pregnant in Age of Ultron
Could it be possible that after Bruce banner merged his and hulk's mind... Bruce could actually remember all the things happened to hulk and so he was able to maintain a journal for each and every moment that happened when he was hulked out .....

Imo it was a pretty good premiere. I loved the dynamic between Bruce and Jennifer. The humor was pretty funny (that post credit scene was hilarious) and I think the cgi looks decent
The cameo thing works so well with Marvel because it’s nostalgia to the comics having so many stories and characters interact over various series I hope they ramp that up
Also the fact we’ve known these characters for years they don’t really have to explain every detail to us specifically like when Banner mentioned Tony u can just feel the emotion without needing him to say oh he died sacrificed for us

I think one of my favorite scenes was when Jen was in the ladies room of the bar she ended up in and all of the women came in and helped clean her up and saying "he isn't worth it" mistaking her condition for getting beat up by a boyfriend. I also love the Captain America virginity theories. All in all an enjoyable first episode.
Lack of respect towards Steve and that aspect of human interaction just in general. But people do tend to cherry pick when it “means something”, which is insane at best, but whatever, I can’t change it.

I was genuinely surprised by how unnecessarily arrogant Jen was in the show. Bruce offers to help her, and she literally flips him the bird and says “I’m better than you at everything.”
These people have no idea how to write likable characters anymore.
They’re meant to be family.
Some relatives just have that kind of dynamic.
They clearly made up by the time she finally leaves.
Jen is a confident and capable woman, and clearly resented being (as she perceived it) patronized. It took awhile for Bruce to finally hear her.

My big hope for the sakar ship is that it's not about his son, but that the planet has fallen back under the grandmasters control, and they need him to come free them again, then we can see the planet hulk story play out from there

I was thinking the "secret government contract" reference was to Banner's gamma research before he was the Hulk, which was obliquely reference in Thor (the first one) by Eric Selvig. From Jen's perspective until the first Avengers, Bruce got some government science job and poof. Then he reappears years later after the Battle of New York, presumably explaining what happened to his family.
Working for the Avengers would have been pretty public compared to his disappearance after getting the gamma research job. Presumably as an Avenger until Age of Ultron, he could go visit family. It was only after he left the Avengers that he disappeared again.
Feel like you missed this; the arm was healing because he wasn't in Hulk form, the device suppressed his powers.... thus in the accident, he is able to bleed because doesn't transform and instantly heal it, therefore; Jennifer can get contaminated with his blood.
So Banner was more then Smashing on Sakaar huh.

Re: Tony getting drunk and complaining: The whole Iron Man 3 movie was book-ended as Tony talking to Bruce as if he was a therapist, and Bruce explaining "I'm not that kind of doctor" in the post-credits scene (and also revealing he'd fallen asleep while Tony had been narrating the events we see as the movie to Bruce). That also kind of ties into Bruce studying therapeutic techniques, which is referenced in the episode.
Yeah, I was wondering if Bruce studied up on a new scientific specialty because of the DMT references.

Banner (in the "smart Hulk" form) always has the full hulk strength, if you recall in one of earlier MCU movies is Banner says He is Always angry, and can take the Hulk form and hence the strength.

The Incredible Hulk movie established that exposure to Hulk's blood is a bad thing so it makes sense that Bruce in the MCU wouldn't give his blood to anyone. She Hulk's rapid adjustment to her situation is similar to the comics so no issues there but Bruce's warning about controlling her strength in public could come back to bite her.

Interesting that you say it is an Ultron helmet in the hut. The descriptive audio for the episode says, "She finds Tony Stark's damaged Iron Man mask on a stand and touches it delicately." So, either the descriptive audio is wrong or Emergency Awesome is. The descriptive audio does make an error during the title when describing the characters in the logo as it says Captain Marvel while Ms. Marvel is on the screen, so it is not a foolproof source, but it might be worth a second look.
I enjoyed the first episode. Hopefully it keeps this pace and sense of humor.
Really liked this episode. My only knit picky gripe is that Bruce Banner’s Hulk getting knocked 50 feet by a Jeep only going like 15 miles per hour was a little wild. But overall I really like the direction this series is going in.
Also hulk should be able to stop that jeep with easy peezy .

The thing I Like about the post credits scenes is the artwork is very reminiscent of the comics, with similar hair to the comic series.
