Great video Dan! I remember playing this game as a kiddo too but never got passed the first RTS battle lol turned me on to manowar though which was well worth the price of admission
Also, love seeing something current about this game. I remember getting this game on ps3 a couple days after it came out on October 13, 2009. The cashier asked me "Are you all about the metal man?" To which I answered "oh, hell yeah." I got stuck a couple times, but I powered through it. And it became my favourite game of all time. I was 12, and my music tastes weren't really refined back then, but this game molded my music tastes. I was enamoured by all of those tracks. A lot of bands I listen to now, I listen to because of this game. In terms of my life, it's the most important game that I have ever played.
I'm glad you liked the video man! I came out the other way, I spent my teenage years listening to and playing in metal bands almost exclusively, to now listening to very little metal, and playing in a more hard rock style. Listening to the songs in the game again though, they got my blood pumping in a way metal hasn't since I was a teen!
Great video. Totally see myself on your feeling towards BL. Just roaming around the landscape, listening to the soundtrack, getting upgrades and solving the side quest is such a relaxing good time. I own the Art Book because the game is unparalleled on it's visuals and mood. Then the RTS sections show up and damn, what a slog... still good music, good visuals and comedy.
18:34 ''There's no way to give commands to specific troops'' That's false. When you go through the cleave of impalement, you get a tutorial with the Roadies on how to do it while on the ground. A minor problem with the game is that it doesn't tell you that you can do it from the air too (which is how you should be commanding troops) and that for some reason doesn't let you do so in the first battle you gain the wings in. Hold Y while in the air with a controller or E with a keyboard, hover over the troops you want, release the button/key and send the order. Repeat for other units. The AI also doesn't cheat either. If anything, the AI is stupid/exploitable and far too easy to beat once you know the basics. The game was built with Multiplayer in mind from the very start. That was the first developed mode of the game. The campaign came later. Also, it was EA's fault that the RTS portion of the game wasn't marketed at all. Multiplayer is great btw and we have a discord for organizing battles: discord.gg/wN9YNR5
Hi thanks for the reply and fact check. I must have brushed over that command, I had a few days gap between playing the first and second half and it left my mind. Would you be interested in maybe playing a few matches with me? If you'd allow it I could record our matches and do a follow up review to cover the multiplayer and make that correction!
Writing this comment just to stimulate the algorithm. I still don't get how you have so few subs with the high quality of videos you are putting out
Thanks man every little helps :)

Nice video. Love seeing small youtubers talk about something they are passionate about. Subbed!
Thank you, welcome to the pilgrimage!
