I followed Bob’s instructions and it worked! The spring on the choke causes the need to hold the choke open when you start the engine. Thank you Video Bob!!
My first job was working in a lawnmower repair shop in Canoga Park, California. I've rebuilt many a B&S and Tecumseh carburetor. I'm relieved that you can just chuck a carb and replace them so easily today! Thanks Bob, and looking forward to your Delorean build vids.]
Great video, I had the same problem. After watching your video and $20.00 spent on Amazon for a new carb, and a 20 minute replacement time my pressure washer now runs like new. Thanks.
Great Info. Just a tip if you have this problem and may want to try a possible fix....I was going to order the kit but shipping was going to take 2 days and I had a project I was hoping to complete the day my PW wouldn't start. I first shut off gasoline and then removed the screw on the bottom of the carb bowl (the screw in the middle of bowl....there is one on the side.) Then I removed the filter cover and the two nuts (10mm) holding it in place (as per video.) Then loosened the breathing tube so I could move the filter housing out of the way to get a look at the carb. There were a couple of orifices in the metal tubing where the screw goes that holds the bulb in place. I used the end of a paper clip to run through any orifices I could see....only a couple and sprayed with carb cleaner. I moved the choke to "run" and then opened and closed the throttle and sprayed with cleaner (a couple times).....ditto for the inside of bulb. Reassembled and started on first pull. (I don't know if this also helped buy I pulled the plug...looked fine....but ran sandpaper between the electrodes. Started on first pull...............maybe I lucked out but worth a five to ten minute try. Thanks for video....would not have done this if I hadn't seen yours. SM
Thank you. I did it this weekend. I noticed that the choke side of my replacement carb is spring loaded to stay open, so I the little red pull tab to choke the car no snaps back in, whereas, before it would stay open to start then you push it back in once running. I made t little spring cord to hold it open to start. It works great. Another small thing, my gasket on the inside of the black housing to the motor was ripped, my replacement carb didn't have that, so I just used the blue gasket maker and it seems to work. Big power was this weekend. Thanks for the video
Great video, thanks! In my case I went ahead and at least tried cleaning the carburetor before replacing by simply spraying out all openings and jets with carb cleaner, then shot air into the openings as well as emptying out the old fuel in the tank, and boom it fired right up after refueling.
Thank you for your video. Have the same Subaru engine on 2 wheel trimmer mower and following your advice ordered carburetor kit. Replace it and everything works great. They also sent a spark plug with this kit but this one does not fit with the engine. Everything else was great, thank you for you video
Have the same one... there is a gas shut-off valve right before the carb. Big red knob. Just flip it when you are done. It is designed to keep ethanol gas from draining into and siting on the carb while it is not in storage.
Hello man, great video!! I changed the carburetor and the machine is spilling the gas around the new carburetor. Also, I cannot pull the rope to start the machine (the rope is so hard to be pulled). Any advice for me, please!
Thank you so much for your wonderful video I am a single female and I put it on myself it is running fine but I still have no pressure in the gun are there any other ideas I could try to get the pressure to increase
Excellent video, please do one on a weed eater and a blower. I bought the most expensive weed eater Sears had to offer, used once, and store it. now it does not run, the same deal with the Craftsman blower.
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you very much, VideoBob! I have Yamaha MA-190 engine and couldn't find the carburetor replacement kit any where /Amazon, any suggestion?
Hey, good video. This may be a stupid question but how do change the oil on Model EA175V? You can't remove the drain plug. The manual states to remove oil cap and tip over the machine to remove all of the 17 ounce oil. Doing it this way, I'm only able to remove about 2 ounces. And when I add new oil of 17 ounces, the oil gauge on the oil cap shows overfill. What's up with this? Please help. Thanks Steve
I bought the replacement carb from the link you provided. This replacement carb is of really low quality compared to the original part. It's night and day. I got it started but the engine runs very loud and full blast. I'm afraid this may damage the engine. But it is really impossible to find a genuine Yamaha carb for the MA190 engine. Anybody has any luck finding one?
This does not apply to the Costco version of this pressure washer. It has an electronic truck so the car does not fit without losing the electron a choke
You never ever run the machine without water running into the pump. This pump is not lubricated by loyal did it lubricated and cool Bywater you can burn a pump in these residential units less than 30 seconds.
I cleaned my carburetor and ran without water while testing and start up a big oops .. but now mine seems to be working on full choke and hesitation n shuts off 😮
Agreed. It took me about an hour, but I didn’t know what I was doing. The little weight for the float was stuck closed, but it took me a while to realize that it slides out.
Why would you prefer a gas pressure washer over an electric pressure washer? An electric is not only more reliable, but also does not require maintenance.
@@ciphercode2298 As an European, I cannot talk about the models sold in the USA. But here in Europe, you can find a very good pressure washer from Nilfisk and Karcher. The good ones start from 300€ up, reaching 500€ in some cases. But as long as you make sure that the interior is aluminum - and not plastic - you are good to go. Regarding pressure (with the units PSI, bar, Pa), there is every pressure level, at different price points. You will find a very high pressure washer with an electric motor. Just look for it!
In general, I would agree with you. I have a gas powered pressure washer as well as an Stanley electric one. I got the electric one because of the maintenance issues described in this video. But, as someone else pointed out, the electric ones, at least the ones that I saw at the time I bought mine, weren't as powerful and as someone else pointed out, were cheaply constructed. The one I bought has a lot of plastic parts. Time well tell how long it will be before it breaks.
Nicely done. Don't like they replaced that metal tab with a plastic one, or a spring on the choke. That's progress I guess; the cheaper the better. Who cares how long they actually last? Nice one Bob, see you next time round. 👍

I love that you do mechanic work and pressure washing with your Sea dweller on! Love the watch.

Easy to follow video! Where might I find a governor spring for the ea175v?
Only Bob would fix a carburettor in a Rolex 👌 classy guy 😀
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you very much, VideoBob! This was exactly what I needed to see!
Lovely Jubbly Videobob, nice demonstration.
Thank you for the video. I couldnt figure out why the choke woulfnt stay back.
Great video - you’re right just change it ....
First. how much did the rolls sell for
And another motto i love you obviously know as well " Work Smarter , Not Harder"
Great video man. Thanks. Same thing works for me.
Thank You, runs great now.
Where is the link for carburetor kit

Where do I get a new carburetor? But appreciate that advice

My mower has the automatic choke. Did I get the wrong carb. It comes around from the front
Thank you for your help
Fantastic Bob
Today I learned Subaru make/made pressure washers. Who do they think they are, Honda?
Yeah and their pressure washers suck. Hence why I’m watching this video
How to start Subaru OHC gasoline EA190V engine fixed on garden leaves vacuum
How do you take the wheels off of this thing???
I did the exact same thing for my Honda generator .
How do you change the pump oil in these Yamahas? Not the engine oil.
The pump oil. And help would be so appreciated
Wow, so easy peasy. thx
Great video

Did you ever figure it out?
Thank you!!!
Can you give me an idea why mine isn't firing. Spark plug good. Replaced ignition coil and still doesn't start.
Clean the carb? Is it getting fuel? Is it getting air?
Thanks. Super. 👍👍👍💯🇺🇸💯🙏

Yeah I got a wood splitter with that motor and same trouble , if for 20.00 fix , get 2 for next time it f's up .
cool if you run av gas you dont have any problems with storing
Great job but that carburetor is back ordered for 2 months! There is another but everyone says choke won't work.

Where is the spark plug???
Did you ever find this?
mine is leaking gas from there as well. thanks
avgas doesnt go bad
Subaru or urabus ???
Subawoo 😆
Come on, just clean the carburetor and the jet. Just did mine didn't take much time and runs like a champ
Agreed. It took me about an hour, but I didn’t know what I was doing. The little weight for the float was stuck closed, but it took me a while to realize that it slides out.
Exactly why most people would not buy anything mechanical from you
How many pounds of boost are you running?😂
Why would you prefer a gas pressure washer over an electric pressure washer?
An electric is not only more reliable, but also does not require maintenance.
also not nearly the power
left that part out
Most of the electric washers I've seen wear cheaply built and pretty frail.
Not as powerful psi wise

Cheap China carb thats why it's plastic. Not an original part. That carb will not last. I worked in small engine repair for 10 years
