- Well after 20 years my faithful saw became hard to start and even harder to restart so I decided to spruce up the fuel system with a cheap carb kit from Amazon.

I have heard this alot, its only an echo nothing fancy. You cant get a better saw for the money! I have two, one 15 years the other 10. There work horses for the average farm and home owner. Years ago when I was in horticulture school I had a few tree guys in my class. There climbing saws were Echo. There inexpensive and they run. Yours 20 years says a lot.
I refuse to part with it, lightweight and powerful enough for trimming and clean up after a storm. Thanks for the comment!
CS-346. What a great little saw! Have had one for, going on 20 years. I was just about to buy that $15 carb and tune-up kit, but figured I'd check UA-cam first. Watching this video was very informative. You remind me of me. Just dive into whatever task is at hand with "common sense" being your best tool. The only thing I would suggest (...and maybe it's just my old ears), but you could use a little more volume. It was a little hard to hear when you were "thinking out loud" about what to do next, or what tool to grab. Other than that...Great! Thanks for the video!
My Stihl 290 hurts my back on small small after a while, so I just picked up one of these with very low hours on it yesterday.
I ordered the kit, and like you couldn’t locate the fuel tank vent filter.
It’s behind the flywheel cover somewhere but I still can’t find the access point. Have you had any luck with locating it?
