Great experience with Thomas and Thor on the camping Workshop, The Highlands of Iceland are amazing, and as you can see Thomas was very tired at the end of the day, we all were but it was worth it.

THANK YOU for picking up the trash! I carry a spare bag with me these days on most hikes to remove trash. It saddens me there is so much litter everywhere :(
Most of responsible people not only take out our own but police up for the immature.
I'll echo that. When you are going out in the country or on the beach just remember a little adage "TAKE FIVE". In other words, take a bag or something with you and collect five pieces of discarded rubbish, which you can later dispose of properly. Encourage all of your friends to do the same. It WILL make a difference.
It is ridiculous. Especially plastic straws that are abundant in our oceans. A stainless steel straw is .40c Restaurants should charge a little bit more and then each person has a straw to take home and use again.
Haha The picking up the straw gave me a good laugh. Love that. Leave it better than you found it!
On these workshops, just to flow with your mojo, must be amazing! Being in your presents, must calm people immediately :)

Thomas Heaton, you are a big inspiration of mine. I recently picked up photography and am particularly interested in Landscapes. Having just gone through some of the lowest points in my life I randomly found you on youtube and I'm thankful for all the knowledge and thoughts that you share. Keep doing what you do, it inspires people and it might save lives. For me its a hobby but I'm loving it so much that I want to pursue it more and see where it takes me.
Dont think you could ever get tired of all those views as its looks like a place that offers up so much potential. Your images were truly magical Thomas

That view at 10:15 was amazing. I would have stood there gaping!
First image was great. Really nailed it.
Had a similar problem with wind on a recent trip to the Sahara Desert in Morocco. It blew sand everywhere, and I'm still finding grains of it in odd crevices in my tripod. I did manage to get a few good shots, but I lost a lot because I hadn't increased the ISO so I could use a longer shutter speed (although I don't think it would have made a lot of difference). A lesson learned.
The waterfall trickle image is an evocative shot and hit the spot for me. Shows how thinking outside of the epic image box can yield such a reward. Love your well worn hat and your sticky out hair. Wonderful vid as always. Thank you.

3:00 this is why you, as a landscape photographer, want a lens with IS/VC/VR/OS/OIS/Whatever your manufacturer calls it, i've gotten sharp long exposures in harsh winds on a not so stable tripod with VC, not just handy for handholding :)
That second composition was absolutely beautiful! So inspiring

Good to see Thomas has some different locations in Iceland, not just the same cliched ones - plane, waterfall, witches hat mountain etc. It is a fab country - go explore off the beaten track.
I know you felt good capturing that last photo, very satisfying to get a composition that's been running away from you...

What a grand journey, and you got some fantastic images out of it! Climbing the last mountain really paid off...so much atmosphere in the shot.
Really good tips and thoughts, Thomas. I love working a location to try to get the most compositions as possible from one place. It's one of the things that drives me at each place

Stunning as always Thomas. I was in Iceland the same time as you were. Just got back. Yes that weather certainly messes with plans. I had to switch locations several times and still ended up getting caught in all the rain.

Great stuff. I love the drone shots of fording the river and the images are just amazing.
The turquoise colored water & sky composition was well done & absolutely beautiful in it's own right, as by keeping it simple did the trick. The histogram looked spot on the money too... I can't help but wonder how much nicer these kind of images would look shooting through genuine optical glass versus the Lee ( resin ) plastic ND grad filters... Lee makes a decent system, but not a great system, sadly...

Such a beautiful and breathtaking landscape!!! Can‘t wait to come to Iceland for a third time with plenty of time to take photos of the coast, the highlands, the churches, the waterfalls, the clouds, the ponds, the moss, the ice, the beaches and and and ... I love to see how you compose your images!

In my last visits I stayed in Iceland end of August and later in March, each time for two weeks. Next time I would like to come in June and July - a two month sabbatical would be perfect!

Thomas, love these videos. I arrive in Iceland on the first of July. I am renting a camper van and driving the ring road. A solo photo trip, my present to myself for my upcoming 50th birthday. I have no idea if you will still be in country while I am there. If you are, I hope that I run into you. Long shot I know. BTW the videos have helped with my packing list.
