I won't do that, because I quit drinking 10 years and half a month ago, and I have a session planned for later, but I'll try to keep up with some non alcoholic beverage if that's okay ;)
As a rather average climber i really appreciate your videos and how you discuss things people wouldnt typically discuss. Ive completed several routes now utilizing things ive learned from your videos. Crazy this is free
I love that you were able to put Ben's principles into words for us! You were able to break down the best parts of the lesson in clear, relatable, and understandable ways
Hannah we love your content! My girlfriend and I are beginner climbers and she often finds such inspiration in your content. I love all the tutorials. The movement tutorials have helped me immensely I use your warmup with Fran every climb!
I enjoy these coaching sessions and getting different perspectives and ideas for the next time I’m on the wall. Also little things like the warm up for heel hooks are awesome new things to add into my routine.
Hurray! Intermediate technique video. There are so many videos for beginner climbing technique and that is fantastic, but I’ve really been missing videos on intermediate technique. I did not start watching climbing UA-cam until I was well past my beginner phase and was looking to improve because I kind of hit a plateau. So I wanted to find videos that would help me improve but it was pretty difficult to find the same kind of breakdowns of intermediate climbing techniques. I’m glad there’s more now. Fingers crossed for a part two of this! 🤞🏻
@@hannahmorrisbouldering also love the vibe in all your vids. All the intereactions with the camera and the people you bring on feel wholesome a.f. to me. That's something that I noticed with climbing as a sport, there is a really enjoyable lack of meathead/bro attitude I find super awesome.
I love boulders where I have to push with my arms and legs! Somehow it feels like my thing, finger strength is not as big of a factor and that's what I'm lacking the most as a relatively new climber, and I can utilize my flexibility to do strange moves. I generally tend to like odd boulders more than the traditional grab-and-pull kind.
Like Ben's energy, so calming and supporting. A lot of good stuff to apply to the next session, especially in regards to dynamic movement, as I tend towards static solutions 🙃
Great video... what an awesome coach. That climb at 27:50 with each move broken down individually was just magic. Thanks for making this video Hannah! Much appreciated!
I'm only a teen, but I have been finding resistance band training great for warming up, definitely loosens your muscles, and when used it more stretchy positions, it can also get your lower body involved. Nice video
Thanks Hannah, this is really informative! ❤ Good to understand different techniques in climbing and as always, a great video! I love your vids 😊 they are super fun and its great that you’re letting us watch your climbing journey - its really helped me with mine so thank you Hannah!! Xx😃
I really need to work on flagging on overhangs. I climb about 6A now, but on overhangs I tend to climb up to about 5B and the main reason is that I don't do the techniques right. Now I've been climbing for about 4 months I feel strong enough to start working on overhangs a bit more and the last part of this video was quite useful for that. I always forget how to flag properly and which foot I need to move which hand. I think after a bit of practice my instincts will kick in, but right now I really need to think about it properly.
Good luck levelling up your game on overhangs. They're definitely a different challenge but I think steeper terrain is where more advanced techniques really make a huge difference. Dialling in your technique intentionally will really help it to become a natural process as you progress :)
So, the dude looks like a young Brad Pitt and he's genuinely kind and supportive? People like this make me proud to consider myself part of the climbing community.
@Hannah Morris Bouldering and it looked like a little bit of Bee came out on that last climb. Just proves that reinforcement from various people, trials and projects helps cement techniques. Great job Hannah.
Good advices. Your climbing is pretty good for the time you are into it. I believe that if you want to improve to the next level an "easy" way is to work on your confidence and fear of falling. Maybe some Parkour (or Judo 😉 but it is less impressive) training or something like that so you know how to move your body into space in movement and you can also fall without hurting yourself. All the best!
ah man, sorry to see the excluded right middle finger. Dealing with some injuries myself, hope it heals up soon! As always, great informational video from another great perspective in Ben!
Thank you! Finger injuries are such a pain - hope yours isn’t giving you too much trouble. Mine seems to be heading in the right direction, but I doubt I’ll be killing hard for a little while 🥴
For me the step towards more dynamic moves is soooo difficult. Im already doing heel hooks, flagging and pressing. But because I'm rather small (and not strong) I started to do that while climbing 4b-5c. Currently I feel just super stuck because I cannot do anything dynamic. Every time I did a "dyno" everyone else just grabs it. It honestly is low key embarrassing climbing a 6a slab and then falling off the 4b dyno (over and over again).
Awesome video, learned a ton! I know grades are subjective, but roughly what would those routes in the video be considered? That purple one in the 'pushing and pulling' section for example?
Hannah its hard when your coach demonstrates hand holds that his frame can attain, but you needed to use more holds and he seemed to joke that you needed to do this.
Ben is the most supportive, understanding, and patient man. He is always SO SO psyched when you make an achievement 😊
Take a shot every time I say "ok" in a pensive tone

So grateful for an "intermediate" climbing video! Thank you as always!
I like how he asks you what you've noticed about trying different movements. Always good to encourage reflection to help drive new points home
I really enjoy watching people climbing in the backgrounds of these videos
You do a great job interpreting your body movements in an understandable way with the coach. Very useful coaching technique❤

Glad it was helpful!
