----------------------
Climbing is a sport with a big movement vocabulary. With the entire body at your disposal, you’re free to express yourself using any technique of your choosing. That’s the beauty behind the sport: there’s no correct way to climb something. However, this freedom of technique can also be a hindrance. With so many options to choose from, which ones are the most useful? - Навчання та стиль

What a strange comment
@@cameroncowen5011 so bold tho
Yeah I’d subscribe to that!
No lie, perfect voice for narrations!
Why? His voice sounds like narration for a B rated quirky teen movie
Front facing smear and push is one thing I’ve noticed extensively used when watching Jain Kim climb, even we she has 2 footholds available she will bring the outside foot to a more comfortable pushing position by smearing, the switch in position means she doesn’t have to pull on the arms when dead pointing to the next hold.
It’s a difficult thing to remember to do instinctively but I’ve found it useful in a number of cases where the foothold puts you in an otherwise inefficient position
As an example, this move has been living in my head rent free for years now: ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxZ-aaf3VsT-VM1dpjB0Au-EheQdix1Uj-
Just watched a video on this today;

Good detail. I'm going to give it a try next climb
Amazing news!! Been waiting for something like this announcement for rock climbing. Thank you Siawn.
Also, appreciating the new producing style, looking at the camera etc =)
The advice you share in your videos is some of the most pragmatic and well-explained in all of climbing YT. Thanks for the videos you make ❤
This is awesome man! Been watching for about a year now when I first started climbing and now I top out around v5-v6! Great content, you're killin it!
Hey, I am glad you're back! I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I just wanted to say I am very happy to see you post again! When I started bouldering your videos were like a bible to me. Watched them more times than I can count and then heading to the gym to practice and get better!
Great content man, your videos have helped me improve massively and I hope they will continue to do so. Good luck with your future coaching and videos :)
New to bouldering and did my first v3 remembering your advice about hip rotations and utilizing flagging. I know a lot of my improvement will come from putting mileage on the wall but having your tips in the back of my mind have been immensely beneficial for me, thanks for all that you do
Yes! So glad you're back! Love these vids.
Straight to the point and very informative! Thanks!
Congratulations on launching your online program! I'd love to join but that price point is unfortunately out of my comfort zone, even with the discount... I wish you the absolute best and thank you so much for all your videos, they're among the best in all of UA-cam!
Great video!! I’m hoping to improve on flagging
i love this. i am actually also a coach and was watching this to spark ideas for my lessons later today thank youuuu
Thanks a lot! You made me help send my project. Tip 7 really helped ty
This is for sure the most useful climbing techniques video I've seen.
YES!, the legend is back the man who got me from total beginner to v7 in 7 months, great to see you back.
The course looks awesome!
Lookin great and healthy man, nice to see you back!
Happy to hear from you again
Awesome video! Subscribed!
I am thankful for this channel and the content it provides to new climbers. Thank you!
Great video, always love your content
Awesome tips!
I love the event happening in the background at 10:17 :)
great video. found a lot of stuff that i did intuitively and also stuff i can improve on
great stuff Siawn!
Thank you very much for this information! Now I know what to work on while climbing.
Thank you! 🧗
Thank you. These were valuable to a beginner like me
Great advice at the end.
I'm happy to say I've been climbing for 16 years now and I use all these techniques naturally at this point. But there's always room for improvement in climbing.
This is good, pure gold!
fantastic video!
I've avoided foot swaps for a while now but today I probably did about 5 or 6 and it was more comfortable than I anticipated
Congratulations on your new venture. I truly wish you success. I have found your style of teaching best matches my way of learning. You have allowed me to put the pieces together and improve my climbing dramatically. For those of us that that don't have a budget for subscription, will you still be offering the occasional free video?
My absolute favourite is back ^^

Small tip when using included subtitles is to add a small outline on the outside of the text to increase readability. When the white text is in the flame, it becomes hard to read. Good luck on the new venture!
Noted. Great tip!
I'd like to mention that the reason that dropping your heel increases your ability to stick to the wall is NOT because of the surface area, but rather because it allows you to press against the wall more effectively, thus increasing the normal force. It's a small difference in practice, but it is better to know the precise reason why because of how it can help you adapt on the fly.
thank you
4:30 That backflag required a kind of a pogo! 🤔
Thx, that was a very inspiring lesson, to improve more on technique. 👍
.
It's so cool that I just found out you also climb at momentum! See you around
great video dude!!! now show us some kendama tricks xD
A method I use to help me carry tension is to bang my toes just before climbing this helps me have more awareness of my toes
Thanks for the 40% off . The content looks great. I'll watch them all and teach my 6.5 years old daughter who has been climbing for 6 months.
I appreciate your mathematical lingo. 🙏
Movement actually now owns our gym cliffs in Valhalla
The goat 🐐

The neuroscience knowledge drop in tip #6 🔥🧠
how do you train I would love advice on how to gain muscle while climbing
Love the lava lamp, never see them anymore.
You may be covering it in your online class: but I have noticed that a lot of climbers; including some expert ones; have a lot of difficulty on mantels where they cannot get a heel hook; or a higher handhold.
And if one climbs outdoors; mantels are a required movement to master.
I've been getting some tough lessons on mantels this summer bouldering outdoors (Fontainebleau & Albarracin). It's been especially tricky on roof climbs where I can't smear the lower foot. Will need to develop some proficiency with this skill first before making that video.
@@movementforclimbers thanks for the response; and love your humbleness
there is one negative thing. you might master all these techniques and yet, at the crag you will find a 16yo kido with BMS around 10 which is flashing all your projects like it's a warmup
Bro, could u plz explain what bms means? English isnt my first language and googling doesnt show anything logic
I miss your videos! They are some of my favorite, technical climbing videos.
@@oroborus1822 my guess is they meant BMI, “Body Mass Index”. It’s a scale of people’s weight to height ratio. The lower the number, the less body mass they have.
@@oroborus1822 my bad. it was about to be BMI
haha you win some you lose some. Use it as motivation to try harder!
why avoid hopping? Thanks!
great points!!
another interesting foot swap technique can be seen here:
ua-cam.com/video/knT1sAeA2c0/v-deo.html
note how the top foot uses the wall as a fulcrum point such that it can pivot on that fulcrum down to the desired position on the hold in a very controlled fashion
Why do you wear just a t-shirt having the fire place turned on? :D
I searched 'rock climbing' and got this instead.
Me being a skater and cyclist never need8ng to worry about footwork
Edit: the way you always show footswapping isnt how its always done, you wont always be able to easily have a foot ready above the other
Video games are better
Looks like your hairline certainly mastered movement
I take that trade, thanks
Thank you very much for this information! Now I know what to work on while climbing.
thank you
