There could be 50 queues that need healers but one that needs a tank and that's who gets a bonus for the next three minutes.
15:35 as a PLD main: Voke battles are usually started when some insecure tank feels the desperate need to main tank at all times regardless of how well the current MT is doing(this is usually WARs in my experience on Primal), the best procedure is to either A) let them have it, its not worth it B) stack on top of them and voke it back to assert dominance or C) let them have it and laugh as you rip the enmity back due to better gear/a more optimized rotation.
Which they proceed to think is you voking off them and get angy over it while voking it back. It really is never worth it. Even though it CAN be rather fun stealing agro the hard way. It's just a pity you can't shirk to other teams in alliances for even more hilarity.
the best is when the newbie tank dies, and you totally saw it coming, so you were standing right where you needed to be in order to pick up the aggro and carry on, and then as soon as the newbie tank is rezzed, he immediately vokes it again... even with the weakness, and the cycle continues lol

Glad you took it easy this week. I appreciate giving yourself a goal to aim for each week, but having slow weeks to mitigate burnout is important if you wanna keep this series on track.
For anyone oblivious to the "Tank You" achievements, you basically need to run duties that are either Stormblood content and later, or complete your roulettes once per day. 700 times. Hope you got your Bozja relics started during this grind, because that quest chain has one-time stage that requires 180 normal raids. It can be substituted with FATEs in Bozja, ofc, but the raids' drop is more consistent.
fun fact for E12 normal, the opening bit always has the same rotation. ramuh, leviathan, ramuh, leviathan, tankbusters (they dont cleave), ifrit, garuda, ifrit, gaurda. if youre a caster or phys ranged, you dont need to move an inch until the ifrit cast, which is like 80 seconds into the fight or something. the spawn point for the party dodges the first 4 mechanics. if youre ever playing black mage here, stand and cast and watch her health drop, youll just skip the ifrit casts entirely!
Love journeying with you for these achievements Cider, thoroughly enjoying the series. Also I too believe it should be Row-ga-Din and Gif with a hard G! I'll fight anyone who disagrees!
Something I've noticed on Primal, most of the time Tank is the role in need (adventurer in need bonus) in roulettes. Tank queues seem to pop the fastest for me.
26:25 I guess the bright side of only having reached postgame Stormblood a few weeks ago is I was waiting for that oopsie to happen and it was GLORIOUS
i started playing ffxiv recently after watching all of your videos and i was very surprised to find out that my character does not yell CRUMBLE after every skill
ive been doing the paladin and warrior achievements very casually but lost motivation once i got warrior to 200 and paladin 175….. i think this video is a good kick in the ass for me to pick them up again!
Weekly progress report: Doing more hunts, I picked up Mark of the Dragon: S, Mark of the Fringes: S, Mark of the Sea: S, and On Your Mark: S, finally completing all unique hunt mark achievements. The Garlok kept spawning while I was asleep, so I was worried I wouldn't get them all before the next video, but I managed to be home when two were at 100% chance to spawn with the weather window coming up, so I just camped one of them out. I also got many tomestones along the way, and picked up Hamm(er)ing It Up: Manderville Knuckles (I now have every first-step EW relic), It's Alive: The Blood Emperor, It's Smart: The Blood Emperor, and Well-oiled: Amazing Manderville Cane. I just need between 2,500 and 4,000 more Poetics to reach the tipping point where I have everything to wrap up all the HW relics I have left, and just have to do the light farm and final trial rush for each of them, but that'll have to be next week. Picking away at EW relic tools again. Mostly spent this getting all the tools past the first step, but did pick up Splendid: Crystalline Cross-pein Hammer. Will have to wait until custom deliveries next week to buy more scrip mats to continue. In the course of normal play, I picked up Tank You, Paladin IV. Was kind of a boring week for normal play. I've been grabbing the large regional battlecraft leves from HW because, despite having the final unique regional battlecraft achievement, I *do* want to do all of them (or as near to all of them as possible), and so this week's leve allowances haven't been very productive. But I've finished all of them now, so next week it's back to actually making progress on regional battlecraft leves.
For the Voke wars, if you have better gear and your co-tank is voking, just do damage. You'll passively take it off of them. People that do that have some kind of ego about being the main tank. That's when you just shrug and let them be dumb. Let them cook.
A lot of veterans: A jumping player is shorthand for "safe spot here." My experience: A jumping player is someone who is simply incapable of not dying to pyretic and often gets hit by everything. Sorry if I ever ignore the jumping baby, Cider. Assuming the worst is burned into my soul. Signed: A Femroe ;p
The jumping baby thing is so real... I have to put my controller down to type in party chat so I do a lot of PLEASE STAND HERE TO BE SAFE jumping &... it doesn't seem to convey a lot LMAO
21:00 Me casually sitting on over a million cowries rocking my rank 20 motorcycle and Countess of Monte Cowrie title. Island Sanctuary was my endgame content in Endwalker.
i always do my normal raid roulette, once a day, on tanks, every day. this caps out my weekly tomestones every week, and progresses towards tank achievements at a good rate. the alexander raids dont count towards the achievements, but omega, eden and pandamonium raids do. you know some achievements take 7 years to complete, so i dont see a reason in grinding out some achievements in a week when i can take my time and get them eventually over the course of the 7 year grinds.
Regarding the boss of Eden Promise, I was also kind of wondering what that was about. Considering the name of our opponent is Artemis, the look is a reference to Artemis of Epheseus.
I main tank jobs so I have spent the last half year slowly working towards those achievs. I main GNB so I got the 700 duties ones just by farming EW extremes since its the top content I do. Got WAR and DRK mounts so I'm going full PLD now. It's been pretty fun. Also it's not a O12N roulette without killing everyone with the knockback. Happens every time.
Love these videos! Every week I come in here and I question why you leave the one quest 'Child Labor' incomplete hanging on your screen. I don't remember seeing any other quest really on that list.
I once placed the boss like we can see at 15:42, because I was worried about giving good positionals to the melee dps. Then, I saw the circles start to telegraph the mechanic, and I said "oops" 😶
My choice in this achievement series was doing the 2.000 Mentor roulettes while tanking. it also have a high chance to drop Shadowbringers and HW relic materials Not the best for my sanity, but it worked.
"Is it normal to just voke?" Yes. Holy shit, yes. I don't even know why its like that but some tanks fight to snatch aggro and keep it and I'm like "Go right ahead lol." I'm a career tank, DRK saved the game for me and is my main. But random tanks will just voke out of the blue. It's intended to help save raids when a tank dies, snatch an enemy's aggro at range before it kills your DPS again, and to help when trading aggro with another tank. It's not meant to be part of any opener. In fact, I've even seen main tanks just throw out voke when they already have the aggro (and aren't at any risk of losing it). I mean, it's good practice in case the healer keeps overhealing or you notice emnity getting too high for other people, but its still so weirdto see some tanks use it every time it comes off CD.
I complain to my friends often about the Eden raid fights because they are clearly more difficult to read than other tiers and this video confirms it for me. Eden Titan is always a wipe fiesta in particular.
Hah, I do have the Typhon achievements. I know it's a nothing achievement set, but there's something really entertaining about being able to to see there's a few things I have over someone who goes after them for real x)
I'm intrigued by your "little witch" tank glam, definitely unorthodox as 99% of tanks I see are in full plate armor, the other 1% is a frog or elephant

Bozja is dead on my server so had to do the raids. I hated life lol
fun fact for E12 normal, the opening bit always has the same rotation. ramuh, leviathan, ramuh, leviathan, tankbusters (they dont cleave), ifrit, garuda, ifrit, gaurda. if youre a caster or phys ranged, you dont need to move an inch until the ifrit cast, which is like 80 seconds into the fight or something. the spawn point for the party dodges the first 4 mechanics. if youre ever playing black mage here, stand and cast and watch her health drop, youll just skip the ifrit casts entirely!
Love journeying with you for these achievements Cider, thoroughly enjoying the series. Also I too believe it should be Row-ga-Din and Gif with a hard G! I'll fight anyone who disagrees!
there are a couple of spots to stand in for any way the wind blows that supposedly have a better chance of surviving to the end!
People have mapped the least likely to fail spots for any way the wind blows if you want to look it up.
Something I've noticed on Primal, most of the time Tank is the role in need (adventurer in need bonus) in roulettes. Tank queues seem to pop the fastest for me.
4:23 reminder that World of Darkness has a 10 minute cutscene or so right before Cloud of Darkness
26:25 I guess the bright side of only having reached postgame Stormblood a few weeks ago is I was waiting for that oopsie to happen and it was GLORIOUS
Remember that people can't see a small baby tank.
My world has been hopping with people achievement hunting lately. So thank you ;)
Finding out you are a ShB baby makes me feel better about starting in EW and wanting to get all the achievements.
The first "No One pays attention to the jumping baby." fucking sent me
i started playing ffxiv recently after watching all of your videos and i was very surprised to find out that my character does not yell CRUMBLE after every skill
Cider...
Is there a specific reason you have "Child Labor" eternally attached to your quest log? ;)
ive been doing the paladin and warrior achievements very casually but lost motivation once i got warrior to 200 and paladin 175….. i think this video is a good kick in the ass for me to pick them up again!
It's very reassuring to know that "Oh crap I really don't remember this fight." Is a universal experience no matter how long you've been playing.
Always looking forward to this series. Thank you cider!!
Really starting to get invested on these grinds you do.
Going in and seeing what happens is the exact right way to tank in normal raid roulette imo.
Weekly progress report:
Doing more hunts, I picked up Mark of the Dragon: S, Mark of the Fringes: S, Mark of the Sea: S, and On Your Mark: S, finally completing all unique hunt mark achievements.
I think that's the first time I've actually seen someone Tank LB during Omega
So today I learned that you should always pay attention to the jumping baby.
I did the 500 levequests Twin Adder achievement too... what a miserable grind
I'm on the Crafting Leves.. Those are hardcore boring. I've got 3/8 done through the 120 different leve level. The variety costs so much gill.
For the Voke wars, if you have better gear and your co-tank is voking, just do damage. You'll passively take it off of them. People that do that have some kind of ego about being the main tank. That's when you just shrug and let them be dumb. Let them cook.
Always pay attention to the jumping babies!
A lot of veterans: A jumping player is shorthand for "safe spot here."
My experience: A jumping player is someone who is simply incapable of not dying to pyretic and often gets hit by everything.
15:45 I think what the other tank is trying to do is allow access to rear positionals, but going a bit fsr in doing so.
i’m so glad it’s video day
*"Why is there a pile of Dead people here?"*
*"Must be a MENTOR meetup."*
🤣
Just figured out why you put your face there during gameplay & that is amazingly smart!
i always do my normal raid roulette, once a day, on tanks, every day. this caps out my weekly tomestones every week, and progresses towards tank achievements at a good rate. the alexander raids dont count towards the achievements, but omega, eden and pandamonium raids do.
you know some achievements take 7 years to complete, so i dont see a reason in grinding out some achievements in a week when i can take my time and get them eventually over the course of the 7 year grinds.
I'm still in arr, gathering and crafting. I gave up on the msq. Ocean fishing is my favorite raid.
TREMBAL!!!!!1!!!!!
I was in the same boat regarding island sanctuary. My main issue was it was annoying to even get over there.
Love these videos!
Every week I come in here and I question why you leave the one quest 'Child Labor' incomplete hanging on your screen. I don't remember seeing any other quest really on that list.
This boss run thing is way more fun, brings back a lot of memories.
What's your favorite raid on raids roulette?
Crystal Tower.
Orbonne monastery, eden raids.
Eden Prime because of the cutscene attack... so hype.
e4
The Irfit/Garuda fusion, especially as tank
Loving this content and hope you keep it up!
I once placed the boss like we can see at 15:42, because I was worried about giving good positionals to the melee dps.
Then, I saw the circles start to telegraph the mechanic, and I said "oops" 😶
My choice in this achievement series was doing the 2.000 Mentor roulettes while tanking. it also have a high chance to drop Shadowbringers and HW relic materials
Not the best for my sanity, but it worked.
Did the world just .... TREMBLEEEEE?!!! :D :D
"Is it normal to just voke?"
Yes.
I noticed this after it went away but... Cider, did you win Blunderville 100 times before the event went away? Lol
