I think many of us have good against hope since John XXIII for someone like Pope Francis. A Pope who reflects the mercy, love and compassion of the Lord Jesus. He is truly a worthy successor of Peter.
I have been praying for Pope to ask churches and catholic institutions stop asking for more money. Schools begin with collecting money from some reason or other, ends with a big celebration funded by parents. Please do something about it. This is my New Year message. I will keep praying.
I'm not sure the request for a percentage of defense spending to go to feeding the hungry is actionable. Let's think through it. First, keeping a storage of basic food or, rather, expanding it, doesn't seem to even strain the idea of a defensive action. However, feeding the starving people has become much more difficult in recent years as abject poverty has been alleviated. First, most of the people seem to be in a diaspora spread across the countries of the world, including developed countries, who may very well have all the resources in place, but the proud may not be willing or know how to access the resources that are already available. This occurs even in wealthy countries like the US, where it is simply difficult to reach them. Then we have the plurality, wherein hunger is being actively used as a weapon as part of a conflict. We used to drop food, and to some extent we still do, but the warlords are actively seeking to take the food as wealth for their own power, and the local markets, the farmers, are destroyed by the sudden influx of food wealth. Our charities often try to circumvent these problems by working with local authorities, but these are not government funded. They may be well funded, however, and no doubt carry out much good work. However, at the center of this kernel of starvation lies a problem that doesn't seem captivated by honeyed language and promises, because the starvation is an act of war itself. From a flat standpoint, it's difficult to see why anyone would consider Pope Francis to be liberal, but, I suppose this issue shows a bit why there is a division of the Church, who seems stingy to liberals, and much for generous to conservatives, including the pope... the fact is, that in conservative thought, reaching these groups of starvation seems to require that acts of war occur, and so, the problem is not exactly intractable, and, of course, the money, food, and other resources do seem to be technically available.

What part of this video seemed like secular messianism? We're called to love God above all else AND to love our neighbour as He has taught us. Of course the salvation of souls is the most important expression of that love (the Pope does preach about that & encourages the faithful to pray about this) but it also necessarily includes many other aspects of human dignity & objective well-being, such as food security & healthcare (remember, the works of mercy are both spiritual *and* corporal).
Why this mental pope didn't even speak about persecuted Christians in the world mental pope why are you didn't even speak about protecting Christianity 😢
He actively supports governments dumbing down Christianity. He signed off on the Chinese government running their own Catholic Churches and he refuses to address how authoritarian governments try to shut down Catholic churches in South America.
Pope Francis, along with his cardinals, bishops, priests, monks and nuns, have worked as hard as they can until tears come to their eyes. And what is the response from the governments and rulers of the world who are evil and who have sinned against God? Corruption continues, which makes Christians and non-Christians suffer in this world.
@SantoMikhael-NyaYesusKristusTu the Pope is allowing authoritarian governments to bend Catholicism to their will. Just look up what the pope allowed in China and what the Pope refuses to address in South America.

Sigh all these pope haters and traditionalists bashing him is tiring stop it please just stay quiet and pray.
💯 all these Pope bashers are indistinguishable from Protestants.
Sorry, but not all find in themselves a willing drive to bend the knee to your pope-god.
Well said!
@@oogwayy777 you sound like a disgruntled Protestant so why are you even here?
True Catholic traditionalist pray for the Pope everyday. I am a traditionalist. I do not put the Pope down.
God bless you, Dear Pope Francis! You are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we are grateful! 🌹🙏

2 percent for military spending could be going to the poor. By watching the news we can see why they may be doing that.
Billions could be going to the poor instead of financing the exploits of Fr O'Feely
Amen

Vatican II is nice but it will never play fair.
What do you mean?
What about salvation? I mean eternal life, not secular mesianism.
Our Heven here and we reach there that's the Cross hrist laid on us.📿
