I'm playing it in 2024. Yes, it's worth playing. It's a nice pass time where I can shut my brain off. When you get all of the equipment you need and deal the maximum amount of damage, it's really just a nice game to disappear into
It definitely is, such a fun and addictive game. Although it’s high action, the way you progress through the world makes for a chill play through. It does really immerses you in, glad you enjoy!
Honestly, I'd put the borderlands games into two categories for ranking: Story-wise and gameplay-wise. story-wise it's: 2, 2.5, 1, 3. and gameplay-wise it's: 3, 2, 2.5, 1.
I put 2.5 basically the same as 2 because of how it's handled. It's athena re-telling the events from their view, and if you do true vault hunter mode, it's a slightly different story. So it's 2 stories kinda is why it's above 1 I feel@@zedarkenigma
Let's just hope they can keep it up with 4 but actually have a good main story this time. bl3 COULD have had a good story if they made troy become the main villain by killing tyreen at the pandoran vault, making him a man with nothing to lose just like jack.@@Calzee
Yes. The graphics and gunplay are the best in the series. However you need to consider it non canon for the sake of your perception of the story of the franchise.
It's really interesting seeing a fresh perspective of someone jumping into the series. They had the same gripes and key take aways that returning players have. BL2 had the strongest story line in my opinion. And a couple DLC campaigns so good one was spun off into its own full game. Tiny Tina's wonderlands is great and uses the same engine as BL3
7/2024 PS5 : Borderlands 3 I haven’t played a first person shooter in years, but the graphics had me give it a shot. Wow! I’ve enjoyed the whole experience. And unlike most, I’m enjoying the story. To me, it’s not a story meant to be taken seriously. At least I’m not combing the internet to figure out what the hell is going on with the story… I’m looking at you From Software, but with respect. The sheer amount of weapon choices/mods is insane! Don’t fall into love with the level 16 SMG, because there’s a new favorite ready to drop any second, lol! I’m hooked!
In my opinion this one has the best gameplay and looks the best. Best variety of environments also, but the characters in this one didnt do it for me. I miss handsome jack.
BL1 came out 15 years ago in 2009, not 20 years, getting close but lets not make it look any older than it already is, the art style has definitely been kind to the series though, even BL1 has aged very well, considering both Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield 1943 released in the same year, its hard to believe but those games that had a realistic art style at the time haven't aged very well, by 2013 these games were already outdated with much more realistic looking games like Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4 releasing on new hardware
If you have a console? Yes. If you have a PC. Maybe. What do I mean by that? BL3 for Consoles: Probably the best feeling to play Borderlands game you can give a shot. Weapons are still super unique and Diverse. Coop is great. Dlcs are great. And the events are pretty cool to. My only negative is that Borderlands 2 has more rarities, and Tiny Tina's DLC is a masterpiece. BL3 for PC: Borderlands 2 has plenty of mods that help it be the best version of that game and BL2 is considered by many as the best game in the series. However, BL3 Redux does exist and is a pretty substantial mod package for BL3 and it fixed a lot of what I didn't like about BL3 in the first place.
Borderlands 1 and 2 hand one of the best stories in game history. Yes you had to pay for most of the better content in bl1&2 but it was well worth the money. Gameplay improved in 2 and i feel like it has also in 3. But the story lacked for me.
@@Calzee It's that cringe-y millenial style writing where everyone is overly verbose and quippy. Has a very "Hello, how do you do fellow kids" feel. I mean, there's a mission to "Get the big succ" Don't let that stop you from checking Borderlands 2 tho, that game is awesome. There is still a bit of cringe here and there, but no where near as bad as Bl3, plus the gameplay is a lot better in general, just not as shiny.
@@Calzee To clarify, the fighting in bl3 does feel a little bit better than in bl2, but since such a major component of Borderlands games is farming for good loot, which is what borderlands 2 does really well generally. Even though there are a few farms that can be a little... tedious. So I guess it depends on if you count farming mechanics as gameplay or not, but I think Bl2 does that way better than any other game in the franchise.
@@ThaBeatConductor hmm let’s see do i farm bunker for a week and get nothing or do I farm sumo for a revolter for half an hour and get on with my life? You can probably guess what I’m choosing. “Loot feels more rewarding in 2” sure that orange beam of light after a lot of farming is nice till you find out it’s just a madhouse, or a wtf, or a rolling thunder. Or maybe you’ll get really lucky and it’ll be a pink beam of light. Until you realize it’s just a storm, or a Tunguska, or a bearcat. I could go on. Short of it is I know what my time is worth and if your going to insult me by giving me some junk after all that work then I’m not seeing the appeal of bl2s loot system. Say what you want about 3 but it definitely respects my time a lot more than 2
I agree, story could do with work but because it’s so basic and not a massive deal due to how good the gameplay and looting is, I’d say it’s easy to put it to the side. I’ll still really enjoy playing
Dont play for story and your good😂 been playing the borderlands series since its release in 2009. The best borderlands game that has good story is 2.. but gameplay wise 3 is the best.
Yes the story sucks. Yes there are too many world drops. Yes raid bosses now scale to the amount of players you have with with you instead of defaulting to 4. However besides the story the endgame is the best out of the entire series. Takedowns, a classic raid boss, true trials, 3 holiday events, arms race, god rolls to chase there’s always something to do within this game. If you’re like me and could give a rats ass about the borderlands story and just want loot drops borderlands 3 is your game. However if you’re in it for the story just play 2 or stay away from borderlands entirely we have enough haters in this community we don’t need anymore.
The endgame is what makes it for sure, even after finishing the story. I’ve been playing more and it’s even more clear that the story is nothing crazy. It’s easy to just forget about it and still have a great play-through, which many games can’t do. I’m excited to play BL2 though, it’ll be nice to see a great narrative along side great gameplay.
i’m playing it rn. I’ve put about 800 hours in BL2 and about 300 in BL3 over the years. if it’s on sale it’s %100 worth the money
for sure! glad you like it!
FINALLY!!! A gaming channel after my own taste!
Ayy! Happy to have you here!
Happy you finally checked it out!
Glad I did! 🔥

Interesting, that’s seems to be what most people are getting at. The games just differ a lot in story strength, with the gameplay improving each time.

Borderlands is a looter shooter, story is irrelevant, the only 3 elements that matter are gunplay, loot and skill trees
Yes. The graphics and gunplay are the best in the series. However you need to consider it non canon for the sake of your perception of the story of the franchise.

Dumb ass comment, i don't want to play borderlands 2, i want to play 3
Borderlands does everything games are made to accomplish. In other words it’s fun
Very true
Does it crash if you play offline because I heard it crashes all the time online
I didn’t experience any crashing
I'm playing Xbox x no crashing
bl2 is the best entry to the series imo. ofc you skip the story of bl1. and tps but bl3 has the best gunplay but probably the most saturated weapons
I’ve heard this a lot, I’m excited to play
Borderlands are looter shooters, I would argue story is a minor element
Fine I'll play borderlands again
