- Here is my Christmas gift to all of you who watch my videos and support the channel. I know a lot of people have been asking for a part 7, so here it is. My next video might be my vacation video, or the opening of the East Side Access, we'll see.
If you’re on the E train entering and leaving WTC station you can see unused bellmouths for the proposed IND second system worth street line
Fun fact: *I* yes, *I* was the one who ripped the sign to reveal the Brown M train at Atlantic Barclays, took me 5 minutes to rip off, in all its glory, they did put some black tape over it nowadays.
Excellent presentation and research love the map illustrations. Hardly any of coworkers notice anything in the tunnels, tracks. I was always curious and found the subways etc fascinating before I worked for NYCTA. Whenever I worked in an area I took the chance to explore. I salute you for the great work you do👍🏾💯
I don’t if they’re still there now, but in late 2019/early 2020 I came across a few Brown M train signs at the 4th Ave-9th St station. There were some in a sealed off part of the station on the floors (they were behind bars). But there was at least one sign with the Brown M that I remember hanging from the ceiling above the stairs connecting the 4th Avenue Line and the Culver Line.
You can actually occasionally hear a train in the lower level of the 63rd St tunnel at the Roosevelt Island station, at least at the western end of the platform
An excellent and informative video Thank You.
Nice work man. In one of your videos you point out that on the southbound platform of the #6 train at Astor place, there is an entrance to what used to be K-mart, That building at 770 Broadway was once a famous department store called Wanamaker, for which that building was built. I walked through that entrance many times. There's another famous entrance like that in Brooklyn, now defunct but the remnants are still there. On the Southbound platform of the #2 train at Hoyt street in Brooklyn, there was an entrance to another famous department store called Abraham & Strauss. We shopped there all the time when I was a kid as it was one of the staples of downtown Brooklyn for 100 years. It was a very elegant store but very accessible. We spent all day there. The owner Isador Straus died on the Titanic just like Astor. Congratulations on your videos!
Fun fact if your on a SB E or F Train entering Jackson Heights I Think you can See Roosevelt Avenue UL from it
clam your “people who celebrate like it’s New Year’s Eve when Secrets of the New York City Subway comes out” ticket here
This is absolutely ones of my favorites videos very well done,
Yes great work on these videos👍🏽👍🏽 . As a new Yorker and loved the trains since I can remember now I'm older the history of the system is fascinating and just the feat itself at the time of construction is astounding .....
Goodmorning sir. And thank-you for making another great video about the hiden Gem's 💎 of the New York City Subways. I can't wait until part 8 happends. Happy Holidays sir.
There is brown M train signs at Myrtle -Wycoff on the L and M at the end of the platform on the L platform.
Awesome vid thanks 😎
Love these videos, Merry Christmas everyone!
at Atlantic you could have talked about the abandoned head house on the Brooklyn bound 2/3 platform that now contains sculpture
track 3 of the 42nd st shuttle was the original track from the early 1900's
If you go to the beginning of the uptown platform of the (J) and (Z) lines at chambers st,if you look up u can see the tunnel of the (6) train loop
very interesting might i add. these are very cool findings. Merry Christmas!
I really love your videos keep up the good work and merry Christmas
The middle tracks at 2nd Ave were capped off at the east end of the platform a while back so the further east provisions can no longer be used for storage.
Great channel ….. merry Christmas!
Thank you for your Secrets of the New York Subway System series.
there’s another brown M sign on the downtown platform for the 2&3 at borough hall
Your videos are very thorough and interesting. One note, if you could talk a little slower, it would easier to understand what you say. I just feel like I’m not getting all the information, but keep up the good work!
i enjoy your videos
Not a random nickelodeon wrap on shuttle just casually there at 1:38 lol
Have you noticed the railway on the N line in Brooklyn? It looks abandoned
The Brown (Nassau) M was actually in service until 2010.
Weren't those bellmouths south of Whitehall St. for a planned tunnel to Staten Island?
Theres more abandoned tracks at broadway junction
Merry Christmas.
As a kid I remember when the Q train terminated at 21st st and was orange. Also on the 42nd street shuttle you can see traces of the old platform you mentioned on the ceiling.
I dunno if it's still there, but there's a v train sign in jackson heights on the concourse. Dunno why that would still be there after 10 years.
Merry Christmas!
If you make part 8 of secrets of the NYC subway, start with Queensboro Plz and you'll see some elevated tracks.
merry christmas
Happy Halloween
Merry xmas
you can you cover the gun hill road lower level?
Just curious, how do you find out about all this?
Here is a secret: on Delancey street in one entrance and exit there is a brown M
Great video overall, but maybe talk a little slower. For me, when you stop talking, it’s abrupt & I forgot what else to say here. Great video tho
How about drinks Avenue station
isn't there an abandoned platform that they rent out to movie studios?
Lower level at 9th Ave could be the one you mean
Bergen St has a lower level - the F was meant to be an express service.
Giggity
You need to fix something in the intro. It says “Scecrets of The NYC Subway”
part 8 2023?
Madison ave not park ave
Im the 666th like 😅
LOL, I do that too!!
Do you have a lisp?
Excellent video but you talk way too fast. Slow it down..really love your videos but am having trouble keeping up with the rapid speech.
