This is a great design! I built your Queen farmhouse bed a couple of years ago and decided to beef up the joinery and didn't use pocket hole screws. I used dowels to connect the short rails to the posts. For the long side rails, I used 2x6's with steel bed hardware. The bed hardware is definitely the way to go as it will hold up for longer than the pocket hole screws and makes it easy to break the bed down.
That sounds amazing, I'd love to see a photo if you'd like to share!
This is another great build, Ana. It turned out to be absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us and making the plans available for free. You're an angel.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you so much, Happy New Year!
In your video it shows you using 2x4’s to connect your posts but in your build plans you have them as 1x4’s ? Why?
Is there a way to make it collapsible so you don't have to screw it together in the bedroom? What if I move?
Love multi purpose anything, great share. Thanks Ana. Happy New Year guys.
Happy new year, thanks Ian!
Love this! Can this be used with a split king adjustable bed?
Do you think you could make an ottomon bed like this?
Love it!❤ you are so amazing- love watching your videos! I would love to see you build a Murphy bed! 🙏🏼
Thank you, I'll keep that in mind!
What species of wood did you use for this build?
Great job! Thank you. Happy new year!
Thank you Tom, Happy New Year to you!
This looks so awesome! I so wish I was my younger self/health as I'd be doing this project in a moment! However I need to start small. Is there a project for a very small (like 1 sq ft) night stand...I didn't see it on your site or youtube. Sorry to bother you about this but I think this would really be great to start with as I can't lift the heavy planks (yet) and only have hand tools and a floor to work on/with....if you don't have such a project, would you consider something like this for a newbee living minimally? or someone in an apartment? thanks so much...now off to watch more of your videos :)
Here is a super simple nightstand that is easy to modify for size www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/side-table-or-nightstand-super-simple-collection
She is building a bed; meanwhile, I’can’t even put one together.
Thanks for the visit, it's easier than you think!:)
Hi, I'm trying to get the plans, but the link leads me to your website where we can't log in, or even modify password. We tried to create a new account with a new address, but it just doesn't do anything. I used a different computer, asked a friend to do the same, unable to recover those plans... Please advise, or fix the issue on your website! I bought the wood, this is my first furniture project, I'm very excited but it's been a week that I tried to get the plans! ':-)
Please email anawhitesite@gmail.com and we will get your account fixed!
I am building the storage farmhouse bed with “x”, but the link no longer works 😢
Please email us at anawhitesite@gmail.com and we will take a look at which plan you're referring to!
I like this design. Question on step 11 of Farmhouse King Bed, are you drilling screws through the finished side of the footboard to tie in the center legs or am I misreading something? Others, feel free to chime in here. Keep up the good work.
What stain did you used?
Great build. Can you please tell me the color and brand stain you used?
Thanks for the visit John! I used one coat of Varathane Sunbleached stain.
What's the cost breakdown for a build like this?
I'd recommend grabbing the shopping list on the plan and shopping it around at your local lumber stores to get a material quote:)
👍🏼❤
Very nice job. Your craftsmanship and videography and narration is always good. 👍. Keep at it.
Thank you very much!
There is no way to download plans
Please email anawhitesite@gmail.com and we can help!
So happy you've included a California King size! This is definitely on my project list. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
You are so talented 😘
Thank you for watching!
@@AnaWhiteDIY I love watching all your videos 😉 I don’t know how you have the time to do so many projects with so many kids 😂
I wonder if I could add rustic features, like logs, and also a platform similar to a Japanese style frame? 🤔 That would be a cool twist to play with on this project!!! ☺️
Would love to see what you come up with!
I tried a number of builds without pocket screws but I found it too limiting. For this summer I plan on building more chairs so I will be investing in a Kreg jig and a circular saw. I was unable to make the jigsaw cut straight lines through 2x4!
Yes, you'll be happy to get a pocket hole jig and circular saw, it will open up so much more opportunity for you!
Do'nt you have problems with the wood Shrinking in the heat from the house?
We haven't had that issue, sometimes we will bring the wood indoors and store flat for 24-48 hours depending on where it comes from.
Hi Ana, I love using your plans. I made the x-leg desk and made it in an L shape. Do you have plans that use the metric system as well? It is very hard to convert to metric from your plans. I hope you have a tip for us European diy lovers.
I wish we had an easy way to convert all of our plans to metric! For now we have a forum disussing the conversion ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/forums/designing-and-using-plans/converting-plans-metric
Ana White you are my hero! I did your farm house mud hutch and end tables. Now THIS is for sure on my next list!
Wonderful!
Hi. I really like your designs. Do you have any videos for exterior barn doors? Thanks.
Thanks for the visit! Not at this time.
Ana, thank you so much for the inspiration and the plans. My wife and I just moved back to Alaska (Juneau) and appreciate the timeliness of these plans. I will be using many of the ideas here to build at least two bed supports. Thanks again for the help.
Wonderful, welcome back!
Thank you for sharing all of your plans! I haven't built anything yet, but I'm hoping to soon.
YAY!
Please check out instagram direct or email!
No finish after the stain??
Love it! I saved it for my new-to-me house playlist for inspo.
Awesome! Thank you:)
This is the bed we like the best! I really appreciate your detailed plans and need to head to the lumberyard!
Please share!

My wife did the same here but used black paint diluted. It came out nice but yours is much more beautiful. Thanks a lot.
Olá boa tarde Ana waite eu gosto muito dos teus projetos eu de desejo um feliz ano novo para você e toda sua linda família um forte abraço desde Brasil
Thank you, Happy New Year!
This is a cool design! Anyway you can add drawers in this?
Thank you!
To add drawers, simply skip the side rails and instead build two more of the 2x4 center supports and use them as side rails
Put the drawers inside
