There have been a lot of questions in the comments on this video and I can't get to all of them individually so I will endeavor to answer them all in this pinned comment:
To the people who are saying that Leeds United won't fill a 55k capacity stadium I urge you to go and listen to the Square Ball's interview with Angus Kinnear, from the horse's mouth, he has said how many people apply for every game and it is easily enough to fill a 55k stadium.
To the people who say they want to relocate Elland Road, firstly, I am just the messenger spreading the word of what is actually planned to happen, this video's information is directly from the CEO of Leeds United so the redevelopment IS HAPPENING (provided we keep our Premier League status). Secondly, I don't think you'd find many Leeds fans that would be happy with moving the stadium anyway, the ground is so historic and the atmosphere is incredible, the point of keeping it the same is to preserve that atmosphere and not become sanitized like a lot of the rest of the Premier League, when you look at all the best atmospheres in the prem they're at historic old grounds like Villa Park and St James' park.
To the people who are surprised with how long it's going to take, there are a number of factors that play into this, the planning process itself takes a year to a year and a half when you consider that the club has to get planning permission from the council, have the whole thing actually designed by architects and then there is also the plumbing, wiring, and HVAC which requires a full design layout before the build is started. Secondly, the club has to be cautious about when they pull the trigger on the build because our Premier League status isn't exactly guaranteed at the moment and the funding needed for a build like this requires Premier League money. There are also people saying that when they built stands back in the 70s etc that it took them no time at all, well that's why they're having to be redeveloped now, they were thrown up in the cheapest quickest way possible so they haven't stood the test of time. The final point on this one is that the club needs to maintain the capacity we have now, whilst the stand(s) are being redeveloped, to ensure enough money is being made on matchday. This means that the build, (like I mentioned in the video ) will be phased over the course of a season.
To the people who are saying why don't we spend this money on the players, the idea of expanding the ground is so that eventually (probably wouldn't even take that long) it would pay for itself and the profit then made from it would be able to be invested in players. If we go from making £1m on matchday for home games to around £2m, instead of making £19m per season from ticket sales, we would be making £38m and that extra money, as we've seen already, could buy you a Marc Roca and a Rasmus Kristensen!

As a Spurs fan I'm biased but a new stadium has a fantastic uplift in fans experience (surely what it's all about) as well as revenue for the club. If done properly it's a win win. We've kept the full intense fan atmosphere with the single stand and wrap around corners, and proximity to pitch (something our near neighbours are now regretting in their design of the new library). Honestly, good luck with any development.

I really think we should build a completely new stand. This would go behind the current west stand. We continue to use the current stand whilst the new one is being built...We change a road or two but then we are having something completely new and not just trying to turn what we have into some new 'monster'! Eventually it will have to happen so why waste money now on a halfway house sort of thing!

I would have thought the simplest solution would be to turn the pitch 90 degrees.
The stand on the road could then be expanded significantly ; build the two side stands then later on build the fourth stand.
There may need to be some adjustments to the huge stand but I'm sure that's feasible.

Brilliant Max. One of the things the 49ers are concerned about is keeping the special atmosphere of a 'bear pit' rather than a sanitised version of what Roy Keane disdainfully said of Old Trafford 'the prawn sandwich brigade'. Probably out of Angus Kinnear's remit but I would be interested in how developers intend to magnify the Elland Road sound rather than dissipate it in the ether. Just a thought.

Don't get me wrong I've supported LEEDS since the 70's but if they want to be a top class premier team, then they should have a top class stadium to go with it.

What I would like to see happen is for them to build a brand new stand behind the West Stand on the old Fullerton Park. There would be no impact on the attendance because it would be slightly away from the ground. Then move the North Stand slightly north with again no impact on match day attendance. Then when those two are complete pull down both the West and North Stands and swing the pitch 90 deg. so the West stand would be behind the goal. While rotating the pitch I would also move it slightly north. This would then allow the South Stand to be developed by moving it slightly north and giving greater space between the pitch and Elland Road itself. I would also employ sound engineers to both keep the existing noise and to drowned out any noise from visiting supporters.
I would also like them to build a series of columns leading to the ground with the pictures and names of all our great ex-players and call it 'The Avenue of Heroes.'
For the suspicious moving the South Stand slightly north would move it over the spot on the pitch that the gypsy cursed and Don Revie tried to have exorcised.

Because it has to go through a series of planning stages and pass certain standards . It then has to be constructed, but the steel and concrete parts have to be designed and made first. But they can't begin manufacturing the parts until the design plans are passed. That's why it takes so long. At the moment I don't think the club have even drawn up a rough plan of what they plan to do. I think it will probably be the end of this current season before any architect plan is agreed by the club. Then the planning process can officially begin. Then eventually building will hopefully start in the Summer of 2024. The construction will probably take 2 years to complete. The new upper tier built behind the existing West Stand first. When complete the fans will be transferred into the new Upper tier, while the old West Stand is demolished and a new Lower tier is built and connected up.
The main question is, do they do the Kop at the same time as well?

Ultimately I hope we build not only the west stand but also north & south stand upper tiers then the 4 corners too so that it would be all the same level Elland road would then have the capacity of up to and beyond 100,000 and we would sell out every game guaranteed I hope they do this rather than demolish Elland Road and build a new ‘modern’ stadium that has no atmosphere or history unlike most big Premier League clubs.
