The Grey Knights are the antithesis of evil, they go to Hell so others can go to Heaven. They give up their humanity, for humanity. They've just been done dirty by Black Library by being written poorly.
Thank you for this! I have also been disappointed with a Grey Knights novel I bought. I've also heard someone say that GK are "Mary Sues" because their faction doesn't really have a lot of internal strife, they get their geneseed from The Emperor, they're so badass to be on or nearly on par with Custodes.
I really like your comment because this sums up the conflict with the Grey Knights, why they're interesting. They take on the grimmest, most mind-bendingly hellish of tasks and give up their humanity to take on humanity's gravest foes. Somehow, they are immune to corruption but are still exposed to the absolute horrors that are daemons. It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it. Their drama is not so much from internal conflict as it is from their quests and foes they face, in addition to the moral complexity of dealing with the public after it had been exposed to chaos.
One should always remember they are part of the inquisition. "Putifying" can go many ways.

Khorne must love these guys. Unwavering warriors who fearlessly face off the enemy by directly diving in to their midst and yet they survive. I think the only thing he dislikes about them is the killings of the weak, be they ally or foe.

The Grey Knights: killing enough Imperial civilians to make a Greater Daemon of Khorne proud since M31. If you're a minion of chaos and want to clear a few systems of Imperial life, broadcast a daemonic incursion or summoning across civilian channels on local worlds. The Inquisition will probably show up with their lapdogs and wipe out the populations for you. Sarcasm aside, the GK are the most grimdark faction in 40k outside the Dark Eldar. There are numerous chapters and forces that fight daemons, and the GK are strong among them, but the the way they both treat their allies disdainfully and duplicitously, and treat imperial civilians as chattel makes it hard for me to consider them worth it. If I were Guilliman I'd be giving them constant side eye.
As a GK player and DA …. It’s the Lion they have to worry about.

The first Grey Knights were already Astartes so they didn’t have the emperors genetic code. So when was that introduced. The first were a collection gathered by Malcador from all the legions.
During their time hiding in the warp toward the end of the horus heresy.

I find it funny how they lost like 100 grey knight veterans against Angron and are like business as usual. I feel this would be crippling catastrophe for the grey knights specifically. Send in the billion recruits.

Bro I was just thinking about this, The Librarians of the gray Knights have to be insane sychar levels! I mean they're all siker's as it is they're all extremely powerful siker's they all have the emperor's Jean seed and a librarian is like an Uber sychar so if you take chapter that's already a bunch of uber siker's and then put them in holy armor with the emperor's psychic teens seed and then they're Librarians which means they're that much more in-depth with the warp? And some of these dudes the older ones were like knights-errant from the Thousand Sons so holy effing crap! I didn't think about that but then dudes like blow up some s*** with their heads! LOL

The Grey Knights give up there old name, old personality and humanity. They have no desire for glory or personal gain. Everything they do is for the Emperor and for humanity. This is the same for the Golden Gods the Costodes. "I know I misspelled there name sorry!" I feel like this is why they are near impossible to turn. The Astartes and even the Emperor's sons have a lot of pride and envy and all of the other emotions that the warp gods like to pray on and use to turn them against there Daddy Big E!
I said it in a reply out another comment so I got to put it out in the main one how nasty is there Tech marine armor with the red in the silver contrast? And the helmet design with the red it just looks sinister! I just f****** love their color scheme! As a raven guard player I'm used to painting a lot of blacks and whites I also have Raptors and carcharodon's so I've done grey with the carcharodon but damn it I think I need to start a gray Knights Army just my God they're sick that freaking helmet design with the Terminator armor it's badass!
Can anyone answer how old aspirants are when they go through the trials? Do they already have some of the gene seed implants or are they just regular humans meaning they are all around 10 when they have to walk on the surface of Titan.

I dont get it. Is their geneseed completely based off the Emporers' genetic makeup? Does that mean they have their own gene-fathers progenoid glands removed? Also, aren't the Primachs themselves based off the Emporers genetic material? So.....i dont get it.
My only question is this
The Grey Knights are supposed to be the best, apart from the Custodes and Primarchs. However, they were utterly embarrassed by the Space Wolves, with their Supreme Grandmaster being killed by Logan Grimnar.
