    You could spray a matt clear coat over the outside to take off some of the shiny after the vinegar process.

    I loved the fabric wrapping idea. It's a good way to not waste money, ups... vinegar 😂

    Thanks for the how too!! I have heard of other UA-camrs rusting pins and bells like that also!

    Fill the inside of the bucket with normal water to sink it

    • @assnapkined9295
      @assnapkined9295 4 роки тому +1

      Why not just fill it with vinegar haha

    • @assnapkined9295
      @assnapkined9295 4 роки тому

      TJmusical if you fill it with water then the water will inevitably mix with the vinegar thereby diluting said vinegar

    • @bitscollins
      @bitscollins 3 роки тому

      @@assnapkined9295 No it won't, because you would only fill the vinegar up to the edge of the bucket.

    I have also seen where Lysol toilet bowl cleaner works in about 4 hrs. The vinegar has a great result.

    Thanks. Very helpful. I’m going to be aging the snack buckets for the table settings for my daughter’s open house and didn’t want to use toilet cleaner on them.

    Was looking to age my galvanized letters I have and came upon this video. Can I say, Girl, you lost weight. Seeing you in your newer videos you look thinner. So good for you. You are my favorite DIY'er.

    I will definitely be trying this in a future DIY. Right now. have 2 projects I want to start. One is a sea shell wreath for my bathroom, and I've been wanting to make my own DIY tobacco basket (I have the reeds, but haven't started it yet).

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  7 років тому +1

      The tobacco basket is on my to do list too!!!! I almost ordered the supplies the other day, but I also have so much to get done first too. Let me know how it goes when you get around to it!!

    awesome! I have a bucket I've been wanting to try aging but I didn't know viniger did it. I thought toilet cleaner was the only way. I have tons of viniger I'll try this! way better I think!
    haha I love that you said "I love it!!" I love when I make something and just have to say i love it! :)
    love your videos!

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  7 років тому +4

      I saw the toilet cleaner and thought... what the heck?? I guess whatever works. However, I also always go for the easier method so this was much more my speed, lol!
      I don't think I realized I loved how it looked and turned out till that exact moment in the video, lol!
      Thanks for loving my videos! I have gotten some crazy comments lately and that just makes my day :) Big Thank YOU!

      The Daily DIYer
      lol I thought the samething! I'm doing this today. I also bought a windmill at Walmart (yes walmart! only 10$ crazy, you need one ;))
      I want it to be more rustic so I'm going to give this a try on it too.
      ALSO I saw the comment about diy tabbaco baskets. I can't wait to see you do that!
      Sorry your getting crazy comments:( hopefully you don't let it get to you. that's what I'm afraid of with possibly starting UA-cam. I internalize everything so I don't know if I can deal with that lol

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  7 років тому +2

      I saw on Instagram that windmill and WANT IT! I'd love to add it to the top of my kitchen cabinets... we will see if I can hold out or not, lol! GREAT idea to use this technique to rough it up! Share on my FB page when you're done, I'd love to see it!
      YES - I need a big ol' tobacco basket in my life, lol!
      I don't like to draw attention to those types of comments - everyone always thinks their way is better. Or wants to criticize how things are being done. I will have to learn how to brush it aside too. Not an easy thing to do, but all the great comments and people (like yourself) make it much easier to keep going. So thank you!!

      I saw this method while on my search for options too. Just a little too crazy of an idea, and like you said, too dangerous. Vinegar is an amazing thing! So many uses! Who knew it would come in handy for farmhouse decor?? Ha!

    Who's, baby that's too much vinegar yinwatse. Get a coffee can or cooking pot that are smaller. Use part if gallon milk jug.

    • @lorimulligandavis1374
      @lorimulligandavis1374 3 роки тому

      I would use a smaller container, too. Something that snugly surrounds the can and fill it with rocks or other heavy things. I agree.

    Do you have any tips for stenciling on galvanized metal? When I tried, it scratches off when I pick out my 813 stencil.

    • @TheDailyDIYer
      @TheDailyDIYer  4 роки тому

      Hmmm that is a tough one. I’d say seal it but you can’t till the stencil is off.

    • @thicks3052
      @thicks3052 4 роки тому

      We did try sealing over the stencil before removing it but it still tears the paint off of the metal. It’s like paint won’t stick to the metal. I'd love for you to to figure this out and do a video! I've searched UA-cam and can't find an answer.
