I wish we were real friends in life and not just UA-cam friends!
Same!!!
Me too, love her and her fam!
Same ❤❤
Yes!
I like your ideas! I find that I look at the ads for the loss leaders at each store.
I live in Ontario Canada... That amount of food would cost twice that much. I visited a friend in PA and the food prices there almost made me cry.
Fred Meyer sales are my go-to!! Last week, I spent $57 for $133 worth of groceries. Then I received a $15 off coupon for my next shopping trip!! 9:36
The frozen pizza is one of my husband's and my go to budget savers to keep us from going out to eat when we're too exhausted to cook!
I love all the deals. Tip, when hamburger is on sale,, you can cook 4 or 5 lbs or more, drain the grease, and freeze it. Saves alot of time in the kitchen when prepping. Great job again !
Great tip!
I do this too. If I don’t have time, I separate into bags and squish flat. It defrosts pretty quickly.
Here in florida, not even in the cheapest grocery store, I can find ground beef for 2.49
I do this also!
@@teresamelvilleI also make the hamburger bricks. Everyone thinks I’m weird, but they thaw fast and stack SO WELL
Love this. I know it’s nothing new but I’ve been so into frozen fruits and veggies this year to save tons and not worry about using it up in time or wasting anything. Using chopped frozen spinach and kale for awesome smoothies and adding handfuls of peas, green beans, edamame, butternut squash, etc to everything I make. Rice, pasta, soups, anything really. I’ve been eating more veggies than ever. I’ve researched that they are often healthier than fresh as they are frozen and packed immediately right at the farm when picked and my generic store brand has no other additives.
I love this tip about cheese. My mom gave us some cheese a couple years ago that she kept freezing and thawing (the whole 2-lb bag) and it was good for a little bit, but just had too much freezer burn.
I now put the 'family pack' of cheese on my list for Wegmans (cheapest place near us for shredded cheese) and will freeze it in 2 cup amounts (enough for a mac and cheese). I then can grab a bag or two out of the freezer, as needed, and not have to worry about the whole bag going in and out of the freezer.
Ah. We take a bag out and work on it in the fridge. I would not want to take a package in and out of the freezer
. Generally pouring it into another container then clipping shut so hands are not going in and out. When we are diligent at keeping hands out of the 2lb cheese bag it lasts until we use it all. Otherwise it ends up molding before we complete it.
@@sarahschreffler5407 yea, the first bag from my mom was free, so we used it for a couple months before I went bad. I now have freezer bags with 2 cups in each of them, so I can pull out exactly what I need.
If you freeze the bag flat (instead of standing up), you can also just take out the cheese from the bag WHILE it’s frozen. That’s what I do. I do rinse my hand in warm water afterwards though to get feeling back in my fingers, lol.
I love Wegmans! Amazing store puts Al others to shame in ambiance department!!!! Love their restaurant and food bars❤
I'm ride or die for Digiorno's frozen pizza.
" I live my life one slice at a time."
Hi beautiful, how are you and the weather condition like today ?
I picked up 5 chopped salad kits today at this grocery store with dates of 12/3 and 12/6 for 1.20 each. 😮 I cooked a turkey breast and a big ham for dinner last night to have leftover all week for other meals. I am all set for sides with dinner or lunches to take to work for the whole week.
Don't forget many stores run specials on certain gift cards this time of year. Save money when you buy them for gifts or pick one up to save when you shop in-store or online at those stores. I caught a terriifc deal at Shaw's reccently- $25 off a future grocey purchase when you spent $150+ on cerrtain gift catds. Lowes was included and we plan to paint the master bedroom this winter so you can bet I took advantage of that offer!
Last week kroger had a deal that if you bought 2 12 packs of drinks, you got 3 free
It only took six months, but the naan at my Kroger, finally got reduced!!! Apparently, it really sells well in my area. But even the bakery lady stopped me as I was rounding the corner and said, “there’s some stone fire over there! You might want to grab it!“ That’s one good thing about stopping in three or four times a week, because it’s a block away from where I work and I get out of work at 6 AM, so all of the deals that were marked down overnight and in the early morning are there waiting for me as soon as I get there. But I grabbed all of the stone fire naan! All seven of them! 🙌🏻💃🏻🥳 Since this was the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving, when I was checking out the bagging man said, “well, that’s going to be an interesting Thanksgiving!” And I replied, “yeah, it’s gonna be a naan-traditional Thanksgiving.” (nontraditional) 🥁 He didn’t get it. #BadPuns 😅😋 And yeah, the fake meat doesn’t sell well in my area either. It’s always on reduced price. 💙💙💙
Yep even at 62 years young I too love Captain Crunch. Haven’t had it in years! My go to is Life cereal. I love to eat it dry, no milk.
Team ripped up roof of your mouth! It’s been years for me, too. I like Life and Quaker Oatmeal Squares or Multi Grain Cheerios
I have never ever in my life seen cereal for 99 cents. I can’t believe how cheap food is in the USA
Living in Canada I only buy food that is in sale and are still struggling to get by
Love ❤️ your videos
Fellow Canadian here and agree!!!!
I live in an apartment and don't have the room to stock up. I have a small freezer. But I still like watching your videos
The last two months, we have been finding clearance Snake River Farms fancy steaks! Can't beat getting $8 off a fancy steak. Now I'm addicted to looking for clearance tags lol
Same!
Um hummm- folks r not wanting to spend big bucks so the grocery store wpuld rather get something than nothing. WIN for the savvy consumer!!
I love it when you shop all the deals! :)
Me too! She’s amazing!
So cute you are, how are you and the weather condition like today ?
I'm almost 66 and in college I had an electric kettle and electric fry pan. We would get Success rice and cook it in kettle, then put it, a can of chicken, a jar of gravy and frozen green peas for a delicious meal for my roommate, me and other dorm residents!
Rogue and Speedy for president!!! Lol we're an almond milk family just because it stays fresh longer.
You can use Life cereal powder sugar coat it mix with little xhoxolate pieces peanuts other candy or crispness and paxkage it into Mason jars with rope twine decorated for Christmas gifts.
Yeah Kroger deals are amazing, I have definitely learned! I save the MOST money shopping at my local Frys using all the coupons and then doing the free Pickup so I dont even go in the store and "find" more things..lol I can feed my family of 5 for like 70 dollars the whole week..we also stocked up on the $2 ground beef, its a great deal as its usually around $5 on average per pound. and we use ground beef a ton! I have to check out the cheese deal, must have missed that one.
I shop the loss leaders first and foremost at all my stores and I hit the clearance sections in all the departments too(you never know what you will find).
Oh girl, I used to be embarrassed of buying the marked downs and weekly specials in bulk but they surely make my dollar stretch 😂
Same lol aint no shame in our game
I always buy them when I find them. Keeps the freezer stocked for way less $.
Generally when a regular grocery store sells cheese, they not only sell the grated variety, but also the block - which apparently is the case in the shown ad. Always get the block, never get the shredded cheese. Shredded cheese contains an anti-caking agent which changes how it melts. A block can be used in slices, shredded or any other way you need cheese with the additives.
It sure depends on where you are, but I see ground beef for $1.99 on occasion if you buy 6+ lbs and it's not a crappy 73% meat, it's a 93% meat. So look around for the store ground version and not the packages old stuff.
In a nutshell, I wouldn't buy most of the products shown - simply because unpackaged varieties or base ingredients are so much cheaper.
Thank you Christine for helping to educate people on how to feed their families by stocking up on those loss leaders. Emphasis on "stocking up" and not just buying one.
Promoting unhealthy processed foods is not helping people on how to feed their families. One tip to help people would be to use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I've never heard her mention ground turkey in all the videos I've watched....just ground beef.
@@lanamichalski3208 so you don't watched her... she and her family just prefer beef over turkey... and you seriously try to condemned her for talking about frozen pizza? 🤣 when she clearly states it is EMERGENCY dinner? or maybe for those sugary cereals when those are a treat in her house not a standard breakfast? it so simple for you to judge someone you don't even know...
Why are you here if you don't like her videos??@@lanamichalski3208
Yes, you found good deals on cereal, ground beef, chips, pizza, pop (soda), and noodle roni. But all those items are totally processed foods. It would be wise to pay more for healthy unprocessed foods that would make you feel better now, and avoid health problems in the future.
@@dianasimplifies No, she does not.
She saved on groceries but got that Coach bag!
@@outinspace3083I bet her purse was a gift.
@@outinspace3083Besides, she makes $$$ on UA-cam to make “frugal” videos.
Have you seen her other videos? She makes a lot of well balanced meals for her family. She almost always has tons of veggies in the meal and makes homemade bread often as well. This was just a snippet of what she buys and she even mentioned how to make the pasta a well rounded nutritious meal on a budget with chicken and frozen broccoli.
Our local Kroger (in Indiana) had the 12 packs of pop all brands buy 2 get 3 free. At $8.99/each regular price they ended up being basically $3.50/each after the sale...and $3.50 is what they used to cost back when I last bought pop. I drink water now and save my $$$!
I did get captain crunch at the dollar tree today. It was a full size halloween themed one for 1.25. But otherwise, yeah, 99 cents a box is the beat I've seen in a long time.
Great video. Can u do this more often. People would love it.😊
Love the captain crunch ripped up roof of the mouth and frosted flakes welded to my braces in high school!
I love Seeing the deals and your excitement over the deals. These are some of my favorite videos.
Your are so right Christine!! I work for a Kroger store, Ralphs in SoCal. Those hot prices on the front of the ad they actually lose money on but they are what they use to bring customers in to shop our stores. Everyday we markdown items 10 days before they go out of code. Also if it’s and item we just aren’t going to carry any more, we mark it down really low just to move it out!! There are LOTS of ways to save if you just look😁
I shop food lion mostly now. I buy sale items, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, pasta. Spaghetti sauce etc...I buy 4 or 5 that week and meats, the next week I buy 4 or 5 other things on sale and meats...right now I could go 3 to 4 weeks and only need to buy bread milk and sugar but I still pick up sale items anyway.
It’s kinda like you talking about food deals but -at a concert:-) always entertaining! Thank you! Love your videos ❤
I live in north Texas and my local Brookshire’s sale this week is several varieties of meat, buy one get one for a penny ! ONE PENNY !! This includes chicken thighs and drumsticks, pork tenderloin and even some steaks . This is when I buy my proteins and stock up !
I love 💘 Freddys! Aka Kroger. Where I am we get a receipt survey for 60 points so you can get reduced gasoline. Plus the digital coupon for 4x points for gas on Fridays. Bonus upon bonus 😂
We had been a one percent family, we have moved on to 2%. Once in a great while I will get whole milk as a treat for my husband and son.
🖐 My dad worked for Quaker Oats. He would come home and smell like Cap'n Crunch. I loved it.
So glad I found your channel. 😍
Team Whole Milk! I have 5 in my chest freezer so I'm skipping this sale (all my freezers are jam packed)
My 6 year old likes watching you with me… THANK YOU so much for the time delay on stocking stuffers! 😅
I had the same reaction to 12 pack prices! I'm not a soda buyer, but glanced at them for company over Thanksgiving. I said NOPE, they can drink tea, coffee, or water!
I’ve been doing this for years! 1 box of rice o Roni, 1 can of chicken, 1 can of mixed vegetables. At my location. (I bought on sale!) it was $4 for 3-4 servings. It’s good weathers it’s because I am broke or because it’s easy to make.
I find your videos to be the most informative on UA-cam. Thanks for all the tips.
Look at you with your poinsettia! And you say you don't decorate 😊
Luv u!
❤ 🖐️ Thank you for sharing! My husband had, surgery last week and I have not been outside of the house, playing nurse. He is recovering well! I have to go out to K-Rogers tomorrow 😂❤ Awesome timing! 🎉
Hey! I watch you all the time. I never say comment. But this week, I shopped at my Kroger and got all the same sales you got!! Yeah👍🏻👍🏻
Capt Crunch all the way baby. ✋🏼
100% how I shop now and it's a game changer!! Love your videos! 🥰
* cries quietly in Canadian dollars * I wish my prices were still that cheap! Been about a decade since we had deals like that!
Eggs are like 5.69 Canadian lol. It’s so terrible
LOL! my nephew calls it razor blade cereal but we all love it so much!
My favorite type of videos. Love the sale items and good advice. I just picked up 7 avocados for $2.49. As for frozen pizza, I kind of like the frozen Kirkland Cheese.
Love your videos. So crazy, I have a retired friend who spends insanely at the grocery store, wouldn't bother with a circular. In West Michigan, we called shopping only the specials and sales "cherry picking." I preview the circulars here in the Bronx. Post COVID prices have settled down a bit, but I love to shop Aldi's , Dollar tree and my local small grocers for their best deals. We have plenty of amazing greengrocers, but I am always looking for chicken, laundry soap, any daily use products on sale. I have Costco and BJ's, but sometimes I throw food away due to freshness issues. I am single, and would love you to do an episode on the wholesale clubs and what makes sense to buy there without waste. And an Aldi's episode.
I definitely agree.... if you compare the regular prices, prices have DEFINITELY gone up. HOWEVER, if you still shop sales and markdowns, there are still deals to be found! Have always done reverse meal planning around grocery deals, and I still manage to keep a super low grocery budget :) Thank you, Christine!
I do the same. Can't go wrong when you shop the sales and markdowns.
We are a whole milk families 😊
Christine be buying chips 👍👍👍
Love 💕 your channel. ❤❤❤
I did pick up the Pasta Roni this weekend, something I have never purchased. I figured I could use them as a quick meal. Adding protein is easy and at only $0.79 this was a great deal.
Also good as a stockpile item...in case you need something easy to prepare.
I do that all of the time with boxed or packaged sides.
Trader Joes is THE place for frozen pizza. Both quality and price… get the Margarita and add toppings if you want… but it’s the best!
I shop almost exclusively from the Kroger clearance sections. You would be amazed on what I have found. I also check the clearance items with digital coupons, mix and match deals, and even Ibotta cash back. I have hit over $500 on Ibotta this past year, with 95% of it being from the clearance items. Also keep an eye out for the white/green closeout tags, or even special store sales. I found Sparlking Ice drinks for .39 each, when the are usually 1.00 each on sale.
I totally relate to the “ripped up roof of the mouth” comment. I love Cap’n Crunch, but can’t handle the pain, or all of the sugar! Old fashioned oatmeal is my go-to cereal!
I based my meal plan around the Kroger flyer this past week and shocked the cashier when my receipt showed a 46% savings!
✋Its the peanut butter captain crunch for me! I snagged them yesterday along with the Lays Stax! Such a great deal!!
Hello bbeautiful, your smile looks so cute no you,
how are you and the weather condition like today ?
Yes! Peanut Butter for sure. I bought 5 boxes of it on Friday and we're down to 2 boxes 😒 I only buy it when it's on sale, and every time everyone goes crazy over it and i swear I'm never going to buy it again. And repeat next sale haha.
Agree! This week with my kroger coupons & deals I saved almost $60 off of $170. My hubby said you need to do this every week😅
Knowing you likely won’t see this, but I want to take the chance because you are an encouragement and fun to watch and I’m
REALLY trying to learn better grocery habits. I’m
Fairly frugal by nature but these days I need to be extraordinarily frugal. Thank you!!
Gawd, if I weren't on a no spend stretch, I would run to Kroger!
Hello 👋 beautiful🌹, how are you and the weather condition like today ?
Yes Kroger did have an amazing sale this week, I stocked up on every deal except for the soda, we're not big soda drinkers
Would love to see these prices up in Canada. It would make it a better buy for the food drive this coming weekend.
I have a set amount I spend every year, but it is getting harder to get my money's worth.
Captain Crunch is my favorite! Also I do love cinnamon Life.
The 2 liter for 99¢ is an awesome deal, just not for me because I live alone and am diabetic and had bariatric surgery and I just don’t got thru a 2 liter fast enough to warrant getting them. That’s why I usually prefer the 20 ounce bottles or cans.
I agree Kroger has been the cheapest grocery hauls lately.
I passed on the kroger deals this week. Just because I was not spending this week. 😊
keep these video's coming. I learn a lot from you. I am terrible at grocery shopping, and I promise for 2024 to try your techniques.
Yeah! Fred Meyer is out of my way, but I shop ads, and when they have a stellar deal, I plan my errands to include a stop there.
I've been watching your videos for a while but just recently embraced shopping from the add, clipping the coupons, and stocking up. I was so excited to see this video because I actually just picked up most of the same deals yesterday at King Soopers (our version of Kroger.). I felt like I got an "A" on a test! 😅
Love it!!
I wish we had a Kroger! We used to but it changed to a Ruler, which doesn't have as many options. Love it!
Great update on using specials. Not so much variety in Australia, but your enthusiasm and passion for shopping well is fabulous ❤
I live in the US and don’t have any of the stores around me that she shops at all the time. Not even Costco. Still enjoy the ideas, though.
Yeah I love Cap’n Crunch. I bought boxes of cereal today before the sale ended.
I love your cooking and shopping tips. Keep them coming! Thank you for sharing ❤
Our Kroger had name brand pop for B2G3free!!!
Stax are my daughters favorite they are def. Going in a box wrapped for Christmas!
I love the chips in the stocking idea! Just added them to my order. I didn’t want as much candy in their stockings so this is perfect.
Lol, i do perimeter sweeps too for those yellow stickers! If i have extra time, ill go up and down isles looking for shelf clearance signs.
Super1 savings wall usually has a 12 pk of soda for 4.00.
Thanks girl!! You do such a great job!
Stellar salad find!!
Can you do a video for emergency meals?? I’m sick of spending $30+ on takeout because it got too late or I’m too exhausted to make dinner. I saw the pizza idea but other than pizza.
Your Kroger ad is exact to ours!! I got a turjey fir $5.54
Thanks Christine so much for helping us buy groceries and get deals. Your such a nice lady with a great family. 😊❤
We're a whole milk family.
I find that the ground beef and ground sausage in the freezer section is much cheaper. At least Walmart does carry that and Kroger stores usually. You never buy chips!!! The kids will love that.😂
Awesome deals!
You found some good deals today Christine. Thanks again.
Thanks, Frugal mom. I love your videos. Thanks for the tips, especially for college students as my daughter is in college and hates cooking but her first year in an apartment. I will definitely be sharing some of your videos when she comes home for break whether she likes it or not. LOL Thanks, God bless.
Digiorno yes. That's an amazing price... now at least. My husband loves those. We used to get a 3 pack from Sam's for $11 but now it's $16 for the same package.
In the early 1970s one could purchase a 24 count carton of store brand or Springfield or Canada Dry soda pop in 12 ounce cans for $3.99 most weeks.
I love in Hawaii and these prices are amazing!
I’ve been shopping like this too! We are at the point where we just buy fresh stuff every week. All 3 freezers are full!
You and me, both!
I love a good chicken casserole toped with crushed potato chips. Salty, crunchy, yummy!
Thanks Your the best helping us. TAKE CARE & HAPPY HOLIDAYS
