I save many seeds each season and sometimes, I like to experiment. There are times I throw the rule book out the window and just give something a try. Like this, last year I started a bunch of Mortgage Lifters from seeds. I gave a bunch to family and friends. Well, one of those plants I gave to my dad created a tomato which was obviously not a Mortgage Lifter, but it was incredible . It was a beautiful mottled design when green, brilliant red when ripe, and the meat of the tomato was what I consider a perfect consistency. Flavor was very good. I saved the seeds and can't wait to see if the next generation produces the same fruit. Going to be this year's experiment.
Do you have a social media that you maintain where you show photos of things like that tomato? I really like unique/weird or interesting plants and have only purposely crossed/hybridized roses. Most of this year's seeds were saved true because I was more careful to grow one thing at a time or grow in different areas. However, this year all bets are off. I'm doing huge trials of peppers, eggplants, and tomato hoping we have a good weather year (which 2021 wasn't).
@@TurnYourHeadandScoff I probably should but outside of youtube, which I mainly use as my journal to document my learning homesteading, I have a Instagram account to keep up with my daughter and I do have a Facebook account associated with the UA-cam channel, but I never use it. I do promise, I will make a video with those particular seeds this year and I am hoping that they will give me that same tomato. It will be interesting. I'm in zone 8b, so I will be starting seeds for spring in a couple, or few more weeks. I used to live in zone 9 like you. Not really much different. My biggest obstacle has been my soil at our new place. That is what got me looking at your channel. I like to see how people use various methods to amend soil. Your background shows that you are well schooled. Just remember, nothing takes the place of experience. I went to an ag school too. LSU. Studied a lot of botany, dendrology, forestry, and animal sciences before I fell into my healthcare degree. Can't wait to see you make more videos.
Pupuk yg terbaik adalah yg terbuat dari sisah sampah yg membusuk...dan kotoran ternak seperti sapi ...kambing dan hewan unggas....dipermentasi menjadi kompos bagus buat media tanam...🙏👍😊
Very good video
